My first grouse hunt, all I found were young birds. I will go out more in hopes to see a male grouse. They are just starting to repopulate this area after more than 20 years. Thanks for showing how to!
Hi Susie. I appreciate you watching! I'm trying to resource buttermilk. Our stores don't sell it because it doesn't sell fast enough. I live in a small community. But, once I do get my hands on some I plan on doing a video on what happens when you can buttermilk. I've had 3 different people try it for me per my instructions and all 3 said it was a failure. I'd like to do it myself and actually show what happens because so many people ask about this. 😊
Great video! I love grouse! I don't hunt much anymore, unfortunately as its just me now. But I always have had a TON of birds on my property. They are everywhere here. The DNR even started a special grouse management area just down the street from me since the population is so strong. Its really cool in the spring when they start strumming, its almost constant, very cool!
Hi micamp. Thank you. It's kind of odd. The population is good this year at our deer shack but at home we've only seen a few. We've also had an owl hanging out on the property this summer so that may be what happened. It's music to my ears listening to them drum! I like to look for their drumming log when I'm taking walks through the woods. 😊
