The Smoky Progg returning through this was a insane and clever surprise
i'll just say that either you need really good Dandori or lots of items to abuse to make Primordial thicket night 2 a fair difficulty. half a dozen mini-bosses is insane.

Little advice: lay a carrot and some mines on the upper hill near the orange knoll when the emperor starts approaching. It saves time when he gets close enough.
Would've been so cool if bulbmin were accessible in the nighttime levels. Would've made so much sense too, since bulborbs are nocturnal creatures that roam the night.
main problem is that glowmin are functionally and mechanically a reworked bulbmin, bulbmin themselves would have to be reworked to be different enough to be separate from glowmin
glowmin look cooler than bulbmin imo
Glow Pikmin have the same abilities as Bulbmin(resistance to fire, electricity, water, and poison), as well as the Glowmob ability, so Bulbmin are kinda obsolete now.
Plus they both have green
They definitely should have at least been in a certain cave even if it was only that one cave I’m being vague to avoid spoiling anyone
A way to make this easier is by going for enemies before they go crazy, it definitely helps when there’s two lumiknoll. Also fully upgrading oatchi’s chomp and health, he can take out the small frys by himself
That’s what I did on my third play through
I like to take out the big bads before they spawn, specially that boss that was so hard that it was hardest in PIKMIN 1
By the time you arrive, the progg has already hatched
I really hope they have an endless night mode in the dlc!

So, it seems the basic strategy is not to stay in wait at the Lumiknolls, but to proactively find and defeat all the enemies before they're anywhere near them.
This is one of the best battles I ever seen in a pikmin game especially the glow pikmin they really know how to kick butt and Oatchi did great to so I enjoyed this one!

I love this mode, is just intense sometimes! i wish we had a dandory battle at night with beasts attacking your base! it would be daring to the pikmin veterans like me hehe also, glow pikmin are my new favorite pikmin.
I like how they referenced star bits in this game
They're actually based off Konpeito, Japanese sugar candy which has been historically associated with royalty and religious ceremonies due to sugar having been pretty expensive in the past and taking a long time to make. Both Star Bits and Glow Pellets are modeled after them.

YOU ARE A HERO, i was stuck on the final mission for so long and ended up just getting Dingo to do it for me, finally i know how to do it so i can complete it myself
I just want to mention that with proper dandori, it *is* possible to defeat all enemies before sunrise. It’s a matter of knowing of which enemies to go after if the pose a bigger threat as well as having Oatchi and the Player switching lumiknolls to protect when necessary
Edit: and I do mean *all* enemies, specifically in *all the night stages*

After my first playthrough, I considered which obstacles to deliberately avoid clearing during the day to make the night easier. I also built some structures in the night to save time in the day.

You know, watching everyone second, looking at the radar maps for creatures and thru the survey drone every 5 seconds makes this very quick

The sound that plays when the creatures get active, that little laugh, or something like that, it gives me the creeps
I liked the concept but it is not an expedition. You barely move as you need to protect the dirt mounts with the Glow Pikmins. I mean it feels more like an onslaught type of tower protect than a real expedition.
I was hoping to have different monsters at night, that maybe some caves were more dangerous at night but with higher rewards or something among those line.
I like the mode and it can get pretty rough as difficulty goes up but still i feel like what they sold us and this is rsther different despite being su much fun.
Glow Pikmin are my new favorite Pikmin 😌

i am so glad the final boss doesnt jsut show up at night cause this scared me out of trying this because of how it says that it comes out at night, implying it might show up during the 5 danger night expeditions.

But seriously I thought I’d try the hardest one and WOW… it seems so unbelievably tough, I didn’t even survive half the night. Smoky Progg seems to be such a terror I’ll definitely watch this to know the egg locations before it emerges

Can you replay night expeditions for more glow seeds? Or can you only get a set amount per save file, since you only get glow sap once per base?
You cannot replay the expiditions to get more glow sap.

How do I unlock the Sunwashed Plateau expedition in Blossoming Arcadia? I have expeditions 1 and 3 in that area but not 2!
You need to unlock the base during the day time in order to play it at night ❤

I'm really hoping Pikmin 4 gets an update with more nighttime missions. Or even better yet, a brand new endless nighttime mode to see how long you last.
Piksona 4: Expediting All Night
The only reason why the smoky progg isn’t as powerful here is because of his speed, he is slower than he originally was.
He also has less health.
But after playing this game, i understood the unbalance it was gonna make. Unlike the waterwraith which they could have increased the difficulty but decided to make it goo goo gaga difficulty. The smoky progg is still a nightmare on a 5 star mission

For some reason I couldn't access that first Egg on the last level. I swear I had that wall built in the daytime.... I was still able to pull it off just taking out 1 egg but holy moly that was intense.

I'll be honest, i usrd Dingo for the last once since i couldn't beat it for the life of me, but here it looked effortless!

I got it second try, the main idea is glowmob the first progg, then have your captain at orange so you can glowmob the baldy. Then you can rush the second progg with a spicy spray and kill it pretty easily, just watch out for its screams
tbh for the last mission i had just set up a bunch of the glow pellets that i had been stockpiling since the first night mission, and then killed all of the emperor bulblaxes/smoky proggs before they could fuck up the lumiknolls
Protected Orange lumiknoll with Ouchin on the same took all Glow Pikmin with me and destroyed all enemies on its way to blue lumiknoll. When i was done returned to Ouchi and helped with the long legs.

It is certainly a good game, but be prepared, as it is quite long. I’m about 1 1/2 irl days in and still only now getting to the end.

Ah. So this is why everyone who's explored PNF-404 with the Pikmin before wanted to get out of the atmosphere before nighttime.
I found all of the night expeditions way too easy, even at level 5, mostly because I think glow Pikmin are overpowered, they’re immune to everything and their special charge attack is broken, give them the spicy spray and they can kill any boss creature in 5 seconds at most, I literally went into Cavern for a King with no Pikmin and used 100 glow seeds and swept through all the bosses before the final
okay but what's the point of going into cavern for a king with 100 of the very intentionally broken pikmin type, how is that any fun just being able to glowmob literally anything and killing it easily

I genuinely don't understand why they bothered to have Night Time missions for the first time if you can't bring all different kinds of Pikmin with you
to be fair it's been established since the first game that the Onions leave the surface at night
and none of the Pikmin we've ever seen in the first 3 games were ever known to have survived the nights
so I think it makes sense that we're limited to a new type of Pikmin that doesn't leave and has seemingly been capable of surviving so far on the surface
would be nice if we got candipop buds too so that we could change them into other kinds though... but since the glow Pikmin are essentially Bulbmin (immune to all hazards) the only things we're really missing out on are the Pikmin types that do more combat damage and stuff, though that does take some of the strategy out of it (just 1 Pikmin type for all instead of needing to pick the right type for the right job). I think the idea is that night times are more about number management and making sure you're in the right place at the right time than about doing puzzles with the different types of Pikmin.
@@Eclipsed_Embers Honestly night mode would've been the perfect time to add in bulbmin, of course they would need to be reworked to where they had unique properties while keeping the immunities. I know Puffmin are enemies but they could've worked something out and had them in night mode as well.
@@jjkmike6583 honestly when I first saw the glowmin produce seeds I thought for a moment that they would be left in the area and I'd be able to come back to find Bulbmin the next day
