I understand that not every trans person has the same views... But what I think the viewer was saying when you look at what is in the news it's Dylan mulvany, kids going to drag shows, it's child sex changes, the navy has a drag influencer recruiting, etc. I don't hate trans people the same way I don't hate I don't hate drug addicts. It's a life style choice that can be hard to break and I think they need help.
Hi, I wonder if you can help, please. Thanks to a long, forgotten GTA V thumbnail for the Paparazzo 'tape' level, UA-cam removed it, keeping the video, but now I can't post for a week! I search for the same level on UA-cam and see several other channels using the same content. Complete double standards, and Team UA-cam aren't helping me.
It is very satisfying to see two adults talk about a subject like this and actually listen to each other without raising their voices. A rarity which should make a comeback. Enjoyed the video and thank you for posting
What you were saying about "Why are you angry? and who benefits from that?" is why my parenting win with my kids has been to tell them that if someone/something (especially on social media) is making them angry or fearful or even "You must buy this thing!" they have to remember that if someone is appealing to extreme emotions then chances are their rational argument is not all that strong. My eldest in particular has even started quoting that back at me when I forget myself... Thanks for providing a simpler way of putting it though... Who benefits indeed.
That was a great point from Danielle. We live in a world of social media, 24 hour news cycles and portable devices with us all day long to consume it all. We forget how much influence those things have on our own opinions. Lots of people do have agendas, for sure. Politicians... law-makers... but I don't think Mr. Beast is one of them when it comes to this issue.
@@Daniel_Batal I should probably clarify, while my comment/mantra may apply to some of MrBeasts content, I had more for of the extreme media/politician outbursts in mind. The likes of Alex Jones, Tucker C, etc... The sheer amount of 24/7 bombardment that we and particularly kids can get has always been a worry. It's literally Cabin fever levels where you can't get away from it. So having a simplistic strategy for identifying at least the majority of emotionally charged manipulation and BS was a major win for us. Thanks as ever for breadth as well as depth in your content. Conversation over clashing is always preferable.
Daniel, I've learned a lot from your channel. Your DaVinci tips and general UA-cam tips and learning opportunities have been invaluable. But I say this without hesitation: You've never made a more important video. Thank you for doing this, and thank you to Danielle for speaking so eloquently on the situation. Conversation is important, and this was a magnificent one to be able to listen to.
I sincerely appreciate that. It'll cost me a lot of subscribers (already has) but I'm okay with that. Silence for the sake of personal stakes has never really been my game.
Enjoyed this video very much. I fully agree with you. Sorry to hear you have lost subscribers. Those that unsubscribed, in my point of view, are the type of subscribers you dont need. I just joined yesterday and will not be going anywhere. I think this is a topic you should do more vidoe conversations on.
I feel the same, Tay. I get why people are scared, nervous or troubled by what they may not quite understand or that which seems foreign. I know too many wonderful people who don’t fit the gender roles that others seemingly need or want them to and it isn’t because they chose to be that way.
I still don't understand why conservatives are so determined to talk at people's genitals. Women have spent decades telling men to STOP talking at their breasts and talk to THEM. ("Hey, Mister! I'm UP HERE!")
I finished the video. I didn't plan on "meeting" anyone new, but now you've gone and done it. Danielle got another subscriber. This was a nice, respectful conversation, and I deeply appreciate it. I wish we'd see more respectful discourse like this.
Given that person's wording in their email I unfortunately doubt they'll listen to this the moment they get the drift that you don't agree with them. Hopefully it will reach others, though. I gotta admit when I saw the thumbnail/title I had a moment of _"Oh, no... please don't be like that..."_ but I'm thrilled now that I've watched the video. Thank you so much for taking a stand when you absolutely didn't need to given the regular content on your channel. (I got verbose in the rest of this comment so you can either ignore it or consider yourself warned. 😅) My oldest friend of 30+ years came out to me as trans a couple years ago, and I've felt like I'm finally getting to know the real person she is for the first time even though we've known each other since we were six years old. We were prom dates, ffs, after making a pact when we were 12 that if niether of us was dating anybody when prom came, we'd be each other's dates. The fact that she turned out to be trans while I turned out asexual and aromantic is endlessly amusing to me, but that's neither here nor there. My long-winded point is that I have decades of close history with her and she's one of my closest friends, so this issue is deeply personal for me even though I was already an ally to trans rights for years before anybody I knew came out as trans. This swelling of hatred for the community frightens me more every day because they're not hurting anybody; they're just trying to live their lives like the rest of us.
It seems that those of us who have been luck enough to have a diverse group of friends and see people who they really are, not for what others would tell us they are, tend to be the ones who know that people are people. I just hope that maybe one person without a transgender friend hears Danielle and takes a moment to listen.
@@slmped8598 Thank you for being a perfect example of why it's just about impossible to have an adult conversation with you people. Stop believing everything that right wing media spoon feeds you to be scared of. 🙄
The thing I always remind myself of is that the number of transgender people is tiny compared to the level of online chaos caused by the subject. The world is not ending.
Over 500 bills limiting transgender rights and freedoms have been introduced this year. They are attacking transvestites 66 are now laws while 98 have failed. That's 42% passing. That's a huge increase! This isn't the end of the world. It's pushing trans people back into the closet where we slowly die in extreme pain. Already trans people are 4x more likely to be victims of violent assault than cis women. It's only getting worse. Some of us are calling that "genocide".
I would look up the new numbers. One in I think 4 or 1 in 5 kids are claiming to be part of the LGBT community... Something yeah it's going on but who knows what
@@claudeyaz Nearly 1 in 5 people who identify as transgender are ages 13 to 17. 0.5% (1 in 200) adults are transgender. 1.4% (1 in 71) children are transgender. Source: Williams Institute "How Many Adults and Youth Identify as Transgender in the United States?" June 2022
I appreciate this conversation. I feel it’s always the loudest in any conversation tend to mess up the entire discussion. Bringing in someone who is reasonable to talk with was a great aspect and again, appreciated.
That's a good point, Mike. I think somehow the volume of a group is often confused with how widespread their collective opinions might be. I prefer simpler, more rational conversations wherever possible.
@@Daniel_Batal 💯. And when you get to hear from someone who is there to educate and not shove and idea down a persons throat we can get a much better understanding. And that’s what we need IMO. I really don’t understand a lot of things. Lol. But I appreciate the conversation and I appreciate that we all have hopes, dreams, fears and farts 👍🏻
This topic is VERY heavily pushed in not just news but just about everywhere. I think alot of folks (and not just certain groups alone) may be upset about this because of how the news and media and social media in general is portraying certain groups. I know several LGBT folks, and they are NOT like how the media is portraying them, honestly. They just want to be NORMAL. They want to be treated normally and there are several in that community who don't want to have anything to really do with what the media is pushing now. It's a very hard spot for folks to be in and I truly feel for those who want to be seen and portrayed and heard but are being pushed down and even ostracized by their very own community for this. I wish everyone all the luck and safety that one can give during these times. Know that you ARE heard, and seen, and supported.
I think social media and 24 hour news cycles mixed with people who actually do have agendas leave people who mean nobody any harm in the wake of their trajectories
Daniel, thank you so much for taking on this email and proving that you are a lovely person and a great ally to the community. Be transgender myself; Danielle is correct when she said that most transgender people want to be left alone and to live out their life as them selfs.
oh thank God. When I saw this on my recommended videos, I wondered, "am I going to have to say goodbye to Daniel"? I'm trans, and man, if you were "anti", that'd be a travesty. Thanks, man. I appreciate you publicizing this.
Just to help you out. Chris from my understanding and from comments from people that has dealt with Chris and Mr Beast before this whole thing blew up. He uses any pronouns, so he/she are both okay Edit edit: On Chris's bio it also says 'any' for where the pronouns are commonly at (The little map bubble thing)
Thanks you for that. I found that out in my research as well after I had spoken with Danielle. I just didn't want to make anyone feel disrespected or uncomfortable.
Everytime I hear a Welsh accent I can't help but smile ❤ As far as the discussion goes, I just wish everyone learned to be kind and let live. Trans doesn't affect me. If a Trans had a geek channel I'll geek out with them. If a Trans brought value to editing techniques I'd ask them how to edit. Forget about Trans rights at this point... they're HUMAN just like you and me. I think we need to get back to HUMAN rights! Amazing video Dan, as always
I removed Dexter's comment. I have had to do so for commentors on both sides. I've said quite clearly that I won't allow any form of personal attacks or leading with hatred. Carry on.
I tried not to formulate any opinion or take any side in the title or thumbnail, though that's really hard to do. I tried to be true to what this video was going to talk about. The issue triggers so many of us (on both sides) that we see words and are immediately formulating our own positions in our heads. I do that all the time too. I'm trying to be better about that. I am a work in progress like everyone else.
Fantastic! Thank you both for letting us listen to a wonderful conversation! And I love how you always tied everything back around to, “Be kind to one another.” Mad respect and I love your channel (having just stumbled upon it while trying to fix up my lacking DaVinci knowledge 😅)!
Stumbled onto your channel about a month ago trying to learn resolve and grow my small channel. I most certainly appreciate your knowledge and truly enjoy your delivery, and NOW I understand why I have such an affinity with you. You are a great human, Daniel! Rock on, Joe
You are a good and brave person mate. Thank you for standing up for love. There's nuance in every area of human life and all "agendas" are relative. But hate is hate and love is love. Good people see this. Thank you so much for putting something positive and loving into the world today. We badly need it. And not least, thanks to Danielle for the calm insight and knowledge.
Love your approach to a topic that can be difficult to have a conversation about. I don't think there is a "transgender agenda" and your point about much of the negativity we see comes from fear is on point. One of the problems I see is that much of the "debate" take place on TikTok and how much of a real conversation can you have in 60 sec? Thank you for taking the time, literary, to start a balanced conversation. Daniel and Danielle for the win in this debate ❤
You're so right. Between 24 hour news cycles and social media (and the fact we carry devices to consume all of it in our pockets now), it's easy to have our opinions swayed in many directions at the hands of people who might actually have an agenda.
@Daniel Batal its comforting and inspiring to see an example.of good honest people, the good you do is way way more than it seems, its no smaller than showing our race a good way to move forward together in peace. And i weigh my words carefully. Thank you❤️
I know this was out of your norm, but this was important conversation to have. Thank you for your meaningful contribution to this subject. I've got a whole new respect for you and MrBeast after watching this.
Thank you, Daniel and Danielle. A much needed mature conversation about a topic I have a hard time understanding. By that I mean, why are people so insecure in themselves to feel the need to point fingers at what other people choose to do in their life. And not only point but to even feel the need to attack them and their choices. People are different and a basic human right is to be allowed to live life how you want. As long as it doesn't hurt anyone its really not my business. I really don't want to come across as preachy or anything but just treat others how you want to be treated, it isn't hard. Thank you again, very good video and much needed.
Oddly, I half expected Danielle to be Daniel playing a character. 😅 It was actually refreshing that this was the case and he took it as seriously as it needs to be taken more often. A down to Earth approach that is needed.
Man, it is brave to take on this issue in this climate; especially since it appears you aren't on either radical side of the issue - you are probably going to piss everyone off LOL.
Ha! Oh yes... I seem to be doing that quite well. While the comments have been a mix but overwhelming positive and not inflammatory from both sides, I lost 50 subscribers in the first hour and it's just increasing. As I said, I'm okay with that.
I came here hoping (but not expecting) for a calm, nuanced discussion, and it didn't disappoint. I've been a subscriber for a while and initially worried that this little foray into social issues might be a bad idea, but .. Daniel is just another guy, and Danielle is just another gal, and it was fun watching the interaction.
Well done, Daniel! This reminds me of the recent Budweiser ad controversy. Way to speak up for the voiceless, just like with Filmora. Live and let live. Life is too short.
I applaud this conversation and have the utmost respect for both of you for addressing this topic in this manner. I am seeing Boycotting and Hostility all around me, and I can't relate to gender dysphoric but Granny has a past... I not only attended Woodstock, I was there during a bisexual phase of my life. Granted I am happily married to a wonderful man - together faithfully for decades now - but I think no less of either of you and encourage others to follow your example, have a civil conversation! But in any event, I'm a firm believer in Live & Let Live, To each their own!
I dig this video. I have these kind of conversations with friends that are different than me on a frequent basis to help me understand different thought process. My neighbor is a good friend of mine but we're on vastly different political sides. But when we sit down and talk about it it doesn't get to the yelling and the sound bites that commonly happens in society today, at least that happens in public forums.
Agreed. I have so many conservative friends who have different political policy views than I do. I still love them very much. We just don't agree on all things and that's okay.
This was an excellent discussion. I've always approached matters like this with full acceptance because nobody knows what someone else is going through truly. I observed some pretty bad online behavior last year when a family member was murdered by their daughter. After the initial story was reported, the commentary online became all about how the daughter was transgender and focused around this as the root cause for what happened. Again, nobody knows what someone else is going through, and until that happened, within our family, the matter of the daughter being transgender was not an issue or even a topic for discussion at all until it became a discussion online. The fact the transgender portion of the story became the central commentary honestly disgusted me, and when I noticed the online reaction to Chris's interactions becoming toxic, it really bothered me. Like you say at the end, we just need to be kind to one another.
*The Only Way Humans Can Deal With Conflict Is By Facing Conflict In A Non-Violent Manner Such As A Video Like This Where People Can Talk About Their Different Views and Opinions. It’s Also Important We See The Truth and Facts About What Is Really Being Done In The World. Well Done Daniel!*
If you take a look throughout history you’d be proven wrong almost instantly. The only way anything has ever gotten done in human history is with violent conflict. Sorry to burst your bubble but this is just blatantly false. I know you hippies WANT peaceful discourse to be a viable method for conflict, but that’s simply not how the world works. As I stated in a previous comment, facts don’t care about your feelings.
Untrue. Even something as simple as getting a video editing software to reconsider its lifetime license policies can happen without violence. I proved that. Women's sufferage wasn't won through violence, though the people who wanted to hold them down certainly used violence. The right to marry whomever you want wasn't won through violent conflict either, now here it is... though, again, those who oppose it certainly led with violence. There is an odd pattern of those who wish to diminish the basic human rights of their fellow humans tend to be the ones who resort to violence. Wonder why that is?
@@Daniel_Batal *Your first comment you said Thanks, CJ. Your 2nd comment you said Untrue. In my first comment I said Non-Violent. I Didn’t Say Violence Was The Answer. I Said No Violence Is The Answer To Conflict*
I said "Thanks" in reponse to CJ's comment "Well done, Daniel". My "Untrue" comment was directed at Gamelink who said "The only way anything has ever gotten done in human history is with violent conflict". Sometimes it's hard to distinguish who is responding to who in lengthy threads.
I spent most of the 90's working as a volunteer at AIDS wards working with men and trans individuals who were dying. Those wonderful people gave the best of themselves to our church youth group in their weakest moments. I would not be the woman I am today without their influence, unconditional love and care. In Honor and Memory of Peter, Charlie, Starr, Marcus, Jim and so many others. ❤🧡💛💚💙💜🩵🩷🤍🤎🖤🌈🌈🌈🌈🫂🫂🫂
@@Daniel_Batal They were all these wonderful bright lights in my life, *I will never forget.* There is more backstory but let's just say... our entire group benefitted/grew emotionally more during those 6 years on the wards than we ever dreamed possible. Those influenced for the better included my biased preacher grandpa as well. When Charlie passed I found gpa downstairs in the church van, too upset to continue the floor rounds. I was a teen on a "mission" and scolded him on being downstairs while men were waiting on him upstairs. Before I hopped back out of the van he said, "I never expected to learn how to be a better christian from my own granddaughter." Gpa died in 2012. His last words to me, "I'll tell Charlie and the gang you said, hello." I think he learned more than anyone what unconditional love actually entails. I left "belief" behind in 2002. If it floats your boat... great. Just not my cuppa tea.
Not so easy to address this topic but you succeed to do it in a beautiful and respect way. Listen your friend Danielle speaking I have to say I don't see a trans-woman but a human being.
I'm glad you invited a trans woman to your show discussing difficult topics about Chris Tyson and I can say ignorance blinds people and can encourage them to go against the community. Keep it up dude!
Daniel - I fSharon) follow you for editing, video and youtube growth material. I was surprised by this video topic. I was even more pleasantly surprised when I watched the video. I have a very small RV/Travel Cargo Camper channel. I also have a transgender grandson - but I've never discussed that in our videos, as I never saw the relevance. Yet, perhaps I should, because so many people get angry and spew hatred without having the facts. I applaud how well you addressed this sensitive topic. The conversation between you and your friend was wonderful and hopefully some people will learn from it. Thank you SO much for bravely using this platform without knowing what the fallout may be. It's really all about respecting each other's opinions. And KUDO's to Mr. BEAST for defending his friend!
I wish everyone can dislike someone because they’re a bad person and not for who they are. It takes so much effort to worry about what someone does that doesn’t hurt anyone. As Danielle said, it’s not an easy transformation. When I worked in Homecare, my company and Mt. Sinai hospital (NYC) we’re one of the first to partner to give gender affirming care to our patients. They go through at least 1 year of mental therapy and /or treatment before even being considered for surgery. And after surgery care is not fun. They have multiple nursing visits, psychiatric care, etc. Let people be, you can’t know the struggle others may be facing but we can be there to listen and give support
Thank you for this. As a trans person in the current climate I find myself hiding away quite a lot. I’m dismayed that people still see us as some kind of organised group of controlling abusers, which couldn’t be further from the truth. We need support and there isn’t much out there. Thanks both for having this discussion in the open
There are lots and lots of people who support trans people. Please don't stop living. You deserve to be happy and to have a life. Your bravery at just being alive is amazing.
One of the biggest things I realized moving to the Staates... So many people "fight' to live their life and "protected" their life yet don't want to give others that privilege. I say...live and let live. Thank you Daniel for bringing up this topic
I appreciate this video more than you can imagine. Thank you for bringing sensitivity and compassion to a topic that's been heavily politicized as of late. I was nervous to click on the video in fear of more transphobic hate, but was so pleasantly surprised to instead find an evocative conversation on a topic that means much to me personally.
I really tried my best to keep the title and thumbnail as true to the conversation as possible without taking any specific position. That's REALLY hard with a conversation like this.
@@Daniel_Batal Dude, you're killing it. I came for the incredible tutorials, stayed for the Filmora drama, now I'm a lifer knowing you're such a good human.
He actually commented and said 'Great video as always'. He didn't agree with everything we had to say and he felt I missed the point. I probably feel he missed the point a bit too but, much respect to him for not coming in looking for a fight like some other viewers did.
G'day mate. Once again you make me smile and you offer content so worth watching. My eldest is transgender and 2 of my other kids (6 in total) identify as non binary. I have never been in their shoes, I see some of what they are up against and it's sad. For the record, they have mine and my wife's 100% support and I'll just leave this comment at that, as I could go on forever! Well done to yourself and Danielle. Daz.
Thank you for this, Daniel. I figured you were a really down to earth person during the Filmora controversy and this video just solidified it for me. As someone who has been there, gender is confusing. Having a conversation about it is arguably the best thing we can do.
I was a little worried about watching this because this subject is normally politically charged but good job. No politics, no activism, just a rational conversation with 2 down-to-earth people. We need more real-world conversations like this, and less "My Side Right, Your Side Wrong" activism. I feel one of the problems is the over-saturation of the subject in people's social media feeds. What we gaze upon controls our thoughts, what controls our thoughts controls our mind, and what controls our mind will control our actions. You shouldn't worry about losing any subs covering this issue. Some people expect people they like to be everything to everyone, and they would have drifted away in time anyway.
I tend to agree. Just using the word 'Transgender' immediately gets people riled up on both sides. I've gotten hate from both here as well telling me I failed with this video. I get it. This is a tender issue that needs to be approached delicately.
This is a great video. I personally don't care who or what you decided to be in life. It's your life live it fully and be what you want to be and have fun doing it. No ones ever going to tell me how to be me and I have the same respect for everyone else in the world as well. We are one no matter how you look at it.
I think there's a difference between some of the people who are older, like Michelle, and the kids in school. There's a social contagion element to this, and that's what I personally object to. Also I just don't appreciate feeling like I'm being told what to think (not that you did that), and I feel that people are allowed to have opinions. You're allowed to disagree with the notion of someone going through gender reassignment surgery, and you're allowed to think it's good.
Absolutely. As long as our opinions in no way inhibits or interferes with someone else’s right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. This wave of hatred and now partisan politics which is resulting in laws being forwarded to restrict the rights of transgendered individuals crosses the line of opinion and becomes action.
Oh trust me, I heard him. And "Mr. Beast's agenda" And UA-cam's clear support of these "agendas" I read his entire email and all of his commenbts but please, you tell me what he meant becasue clearly you seem to have insights and a need to clarify for me.
To quote the great seafaring philosopher, Capt. Jack Sparrow; "The problem is not the problem. The problem is your attitude to the problem" A more sensible conversation about this topic has not been had. The best way to combat bad information, is not censorship or outrage, but good information, as shown here.
Try to appeal it if you feel you haven’t violated any copyright. Don’t lean on “other people do it!” For you defense. Unfortunately that’s like being pulled over on the highway for speeding and arguing “Other people speed!”
@@Daniel_Batal I tried the appeal and they weren't interested. It wasn't a copyright thing, but the rather risque thumbnail I'd used - albeit two years ago and completely forgot about. I don't mind losing the thumbnail, but it's the fact that several other people have a pretty similar thumbnail (if you look up the level of the game, you'll see why it was risque), and Team UA-cam are just ignoring the fact I'm pointing out their double standards, since I'm being penalised but they ignore all the other videos.
Ah, so it was a Community Guidelines issue. Got it. As I said, let go of the "other people get away with it" thought process. All of them could also get hit with a violation years later as you did. Focus on just making sure you don't do anything that might put your channel in jeaopardy.
@@Daniel_Batal Well, my issue was that when I pointed out to Team UA-cam that they're sanctioning me for it, yet completely ignoring several other channels doing the same, that's when they went silent. Hence, I think it's a disgrace that they have double standards. All I can do is make a video about it when I get my uploading back, and comment on the channels who have such thumbnails, and how to make sure they don't end up in the same boat.
Right on! As a new transgender content creator myself, I’m still struggling to understand how I can come across as less congruent to my audience. I appreciate that you did this interview with Danielle! She’s awesome, I’ve seen her before. I’m glad I found your channel. ❤🙏🏻👍
This was a wonderful, and needed, conversation. When we can see each other as human beings-in all of the fullness and failing that entails- that’s when the world gets better.
This video helped me understand a little more of what transgender people go through. Thank you for taking this approach to the conversation. Prior to this video I always figured compasion was always the best place to start, but never really had a idea of what these people have to go through.
Danielle is one of my favorite people and I think if more people knew actual transgender people (instead of just listening to what they hear about them), we all might have a lot more compassion and understanding ☮️
I'm all about live and let live, until it gets rammed down my throat! I don't force my views, beliefs or lifestyle on anybody else, so I don't take kindly to anything being forced on me.
Same. I can honestly say that I've lived & traveled to more places than most people do in their lifetimes and I've never had anyone force any transgender beliefs on me. I have, however, seen the local and federal govt. make laws supressing the rights of my transgender friends. That's definitely not cool.
Great discussion and handled in the way we have become accustomed to you dealing with tricky situations. 👍 I find it hard not to get annoyed that the people who most want to interfere in other people's personal lives often seem to be the ones who carry on the most about "freedom". They have a habit of calling other folks sheep yet are offended by the very people who are possibly the least sheep-like of all 🤔 For people trying to make sense of these things, I strongly recommend the Gender Unicorn. It's easily found on Google. It's excellent because it covers multiple continuums and we're all on there somewhere! Personally, I look forward to a time when none of this has to be a big thing and we just get on with our lives.
The ending of your video, where your admit such friendship for your friend and not thinking about it otherwise, brought tears to my eyes. Nothing is ever wrong about being a nice person. (Even though you look like you might kick someone's butt.)
I tend to wonder if those who harbor such resentments towards particular groups of people ever take the time to sit and talk with them. Seems that would be an important part of formulating an opinion. That's why I wanted to sit and talk with one of my friends. I thought it might give people an opportunity to see people like Danielle as real people, not just as some imagined threat that someone else has told them they are.
Being brought up in the NW of England, I was taught two great axims: "live and let live" and "don't judge a book by it's cover". Perhaps this is why Manchester is one of the friendliest cities in the world and has a fantastic gay quarter. That's not to say it's some kind of Utopia, but if only more people and places could follow Manchesters example. Never come across Danielle before. She comes across as intelligent and articulate. Q: do I detect a Welsh accent?
Danielle used the term "professionally outraged". Yeah, there are too many of this type around these days. I've been referring to them as "professional offence takers" for years.
Generally speaking, you have been a good example of bridging a complex issue. Take the Filmora license issue recently. You handled that well with a good outcome over time. You've come to know that you are skilled at the bridging tasl and have chisen to dive headlong here into a deep pool, taking your skill with you. I'm sure you felt you'd be able to bring reason to this conversation and somehow help bridge the Gap which is really best described as a Chasm. Again, I applaud your God-given skill at doing these type of things. Here you worked to take what you thought were both sides of this issue and attempted to civilly speak of them openly. But I must tell you, you've made a rather big oversight. Specifically, not once did God, the Maker of Heaven or Earth or His opinion on this whole matter get discussed. This issue is a two-sided discussion, you are absolutely correct.. You just completely missed 1 entire side of the discussion...namely, God Himself. Recall "male and female created He them"? HE made two sexes. HE told us HE did. HE has given us over 6 thousands years of recorded human history to make it evident that HE did. HE has given us birds and bees and lions and deer and fish and trillions of examples to look at. And HE did not give us the option to change our sex anymore than HE gave us the ability to change the date we're born, our height, our family heritage, our race or a host of other unchangeables. So again, I value your skill in this area of bridging complex issues and just wanted to make sure you understood that you missed a key side of this issue (which is always a fatal flaw of negotiations). You might not believe in God nor even care about what HE says. I get that. But even if you yourself don't see God as a valid side of this issues the True Truth is that in the end, what you or I believe does not matter in the least. The ONLY thing that matters is the Truth. I'd encourage your to seek the True Truth in your quest for openness, sharing, kindness, fairness, and reasoned dialog. Here's wishing you well in your Journey.
If only everyone followed true Christian values then this would be a moot point. Jesus loved everyone and encouraged others to do the same without judgement. Some just don’t have that capacity for love in their hearts and not everyone believes in the same faith. I’ll settle for humans treating other humans with basic humanity. That’s a good start. ❤️
@@Daniel_Batal Thank you for your kind reply. I know you are busy with plenty of comments and I have ZERO intention of getting into any back and forth. Neither of us want that trust me. However, I at least need to correct a couple of errors in your reply to ensure a more complete understanding. You would not allow me to keep making errors in my video editing if you were helping me. At least I hope not. So, with that in mind, (1) The idea that "Jesus loves everyone and encouraged others to do the same without judgement." is just not true or Biblical. Not sure where you got that idea. Sure, you know John 3:16, but read John 3:17-19 and John 3:36 for a complete picture. (2) "I’ll settle for humans treating other humans with basic humanity." How has that worked out throughout human history? Sure, it sounds good, I agree with you. But it never works out. Never. Not once. Any system that ignores the Fallen Condition of Mankind is doomed to failure. Men, left to their own devices, pursue evil. No person ever pulled themselves up from their own bootstraps so to speak. Again, I wish you the best in your Journey. (Note: "Mere Christianity" by CS Lewis helped me a great deal toward the beginning of my Journey.)
I've had interactions with transgender individuals at work and in my personal life, and just like anything else people say and do, I ask myself, "does this affect me?" No? OK, moving on. I couldn't care less what anyone else does, so long as it doesn't affect MY life. Guess me and Danielle have something in common? [spoiler alert: it's not our fashion] I'd rather we have a frank discussion about rampant phone use behind the wheel, rather than fight people over how they want to live their lives. I think THAT is a more important thing to stop, versus the transgendered people. People have way too much time on their hands, and an inability to just keep scrolling. I'd never get anything done if I felt the need to respond to everything on social media that I don't agree with. SMH. OTOH, I watched this video and felt compelled to comment. Go figure. Great video, Daniel.
Well I appreciate your comment and I tend to agree with you. It seems the most outraged people are the ones who don’t actually know any transgendered individuals and get their opinions from either partisan political rhetoric or disinformation on social media platforms… or both. (I typed this from my phone in my office, not in the car 🚘)
I have to say, even as a conservative person who doesn't agree with a lot of things going on in the world regarding the LGBTQ, I have to say this video is great. Regardless of people's beliefs we all deserve kindness, patience, and LOVE. We can do bigger and better things together if we look at the commmon ground. If people don't like something just keep it moving or don't purposely be rude and that's for EVERYONE.
I mean i support trans people because of the health organizations that talk about how sex isnt gender , even if you dont believe that for religion reasons you can still not hate. i mean yk whats not a choice being mean and spreading rumors like "he left his wife and kids because he was gay" , the wife devorced him because she didnt want to be on camera or publicly known (not because he is bi ) and he never left his kid. spreading false rumors no matter if you belive in lgbt is wrong .
100% agree. And, it's not just GBLT, Trans, MAGA or anything else that drives me crazy -- people have a right to be themselves, whomever they are. The worst part of society these days, IMHO, is this whole, "I'm right, you're wrong, case closed, burn in hell," attitude that people of all sides seem to be displaying. I have gay friends, straight friends, liberal friends, conservative friends, and friends of every race, and we all get along fine. It's when people take such an extreme stance on any of this that we get in trouble. It's sad, but Danielle nailed it on the head... it's like we can't even have a discussion these days. I pray that one day it will change. Keep up the good work, DB. I come for the editing, but I stay because you always make me think. 🫡
@@Daniel_Batal Me, too. I've actually cut WAY back on watching/reading the news for that very reason; they're just fanning the flames for ratings at this point. I'd much rather just focus on learning Davinci from you 😊
I was nervous clicking the thumbnail, but glad I did. History will not look kindly on folks that harbor these bigoted views. Thank you for making this.
While I'll never understand why some people get so upset and militant over what others do with their life (all the while preaching about personal freedoms), I do appreciate your take of responding with education. I have serious doubts that those afraid of anything approaching change will listen with anything other than instant revulsion, one has to try, right? Thanks for addressing the topic. #ally
Unfortunately some people have their own actual agenda and some comments were pretty aggressive on this video. I have none other than to live and let live.
I knew you were kind, but I was afraid to click on this video as I was worried you were going to attack the transgender community. Glad I had nothing to worry about! 😁My best friend, whom I've known for going on 17 years, is transgender. She LOVES Mr. Beast! To my surprise, a pretty famous _very_ devout Mormon martial artist, Ramsey Dewey, has a transgender sister, and he supports transgender athletes being able to participate in serious sports competition as who they are. He showed me that people even from a radically different belief system from my own deserve to be respected and even admired.
I hope that more people take the time to get to know a variety of different people in their own lives. It changes your perspective on who people really are ☮️❤️
Lmao the fact the dude in the comments thought you would side with him over the "trans agenda" is hilarious wow... I'm glad to see you didn't, which I didn't ever think you would be transphobic. He thinks free speech is dead yet he's the one going to creators comment sections to ask for help in spreading hate speech while also risking that creators channel to do oml I cannot
I think honest and open conversation without the need to vilify other people is important. The "Us vs Them" mentality that has become so prevelant across my country is disheartening. Not everyone needs to choose a side. Sometimes we can just let people be themselves and go on being ourselves without issue.
I cant help but think that a content creator brings their own perspective to their channel. It is up to other people to watch, not watch, or be offended or educated. However, the process of creating, editing and posting remains the same no matter your gender, colour or platform. It is the content that changes.. Thanks for the discussion, interesting, but Im here for your amazing tutorials and skill in keeping the process in Resolve real.
My goal has always been to empower anyone who wants to be a UA-cam content creator... not just to learn some silly video editing software, but to learn how to edit videos, put them onto UA-cam and grow a UA-cam channel. Anytime I see people attacking Creators with hate or venom for being who they are and not hurting anyone else, you can be absolutley sure you'll hear me speak up.
Danielle, Mrs Doubtfire, no way. You're way more Nigel Owens, the Rugby referee 😂. Seriously though, thanks for discussing Trans issues in such an open and honest way. It's something sorely missing on social media.
There are no transgender issues. However, there are people who have issues with transgender people. Why don't people just get on with their lives and let others be what they want / need to be. Good luck to them.
One more thing...As I said in my Live Chat last night...This world would be boring if we all agreed with each other and looked the same ...Again, Great job Sir! Hello from Gatlinburg TN Smoky Mountains Park 🏞️🌄🐻
I'm an old man... living in a twisted old south "heritage' state... with a history of hate / racist speech and prejudice . My relatives here no longer speak to me because I became a Jew-- ['nother story for another time. that said I grew up on the left coast... I have a few gay / Lesbian friends. I don't much care about their orientation. I care about them because we have much in common. I've always been out on the "edge" of society. I understand the the burdens placed on people on the margins of society. Every time I hear of a trans / gay / lesbian / + . who committed suicide I weep. I know that their non-acceptance by society has broken their hearts and pulled them into a life ending despair. Frankly I wish I had more LGBTQIA friends because most of them are creative people. I don't think I ever met one that didn't have some kind of creative talent. ... when you are old and have a potentially terminal illness and are a "creative" person, being surrounded by other creative people is inspiring and affirmative for them and for me. Daniel, Thanks for making this video and for inviting Danielle to share her thoughts and feelings about this issue. I'm not sure it will change any of those who have bad feelings about the topic. That's kinda sad because they will miss the joy and creativity of the people they hate. Rock on, Rock Star!
This is such a complex issue. There's an important distinction between a transgender individual and increasingly hostile trans-activism. Their use of antagonistic language against women - slurring them as TERFs, trans-misogynists, transphobic, birthing persons, cis-women, etc. makes it difficult not to push back. Women tend to be more negatively impacted by the loss of hard fought sex-based rights and protections in supporting the needs of biological boys/men identifying as transgender. Danielle is delightful! Thanks for the posting this great conversation.
Danielle would be the first to agree. I think extremism (on either side of any conversation) is inherently problematic and unfortunately those loud voices often get mistaken for being the majority.
No matter which side of this conversation you find yourself on, I hope everyone chooses to lead with kindness instead of anger. ☮
Very well done. And VERY necessary. Thank you for using your stage to make the world a better place, even if only just a little bit :)
I agree 100%
@@Daniel_Batal I have watched several of your videos on how to use DaVinci, but it was this video that got me to subscribe.
I am happy to leave individuals, parents and their doctors alone- and support safe public life for everyone to live their gender truth.
I'm UP HERE!")
yep
I finished the video.
I didn't plan on "meeting" anyone new, but now you've gone and done it. Danielle got another subscriber.
This was a nice, respectful conversation, and I deeply appreciate it. I wish we'd see more respectful discourse like this.
❤️
I cannot thank you enough for using your platform to have this conversation. I follow you because it's obvious you have a heart
I’m happy to be here for these conversations ❤️
Given that person's wording in their email I unfortunately doubt they'll listen to this the moment they get the drift that you don't agree with them. Hopefully it will reach others, though.
I gotta admit when I saw the thumbnail/title I had a moment of _"Oh, no... please don't be like that..."_ but I'm thrilled now that I've watched the video. Thank you so much for taking a stand when you absolutely didn't need to given the regular content on your channel.
(I got verbose in the rest of this comment so you can either ignore it or consider yourself warned. 😅)
My oldest friend of 30+ years came out to me as trans a couple years ago, and I've felt like I'm finally getting to know the real person she is for the first time even though we've known each other since we were six years old.
“Not trying to hurt others” *LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOO* that’s the biggest shiet I’ve read 🤣🤣🤣
@@slmped8598 Thank you for being a perfect example of why it's just about impossible to have an adult conversation with you people. Stop believing everything that right wing media spoon feeds you to be scared of. 🙄
Yes and yea, I had same feelings as you before I clicked the video.
The thing I always remind myself of is that the number of transgender people is tiny compared to the level of online chaos caused by the subject. The world is not ending.
That's very true, Gordon. I think 24 hour news cycles and social media can make things seem much bigger than they really are.
Over 500 bills limiting transgender rights and freedoms have been introduced this year. They are attacking transvestites
66 are now laws while 98 have failed.
Something yeah it's going on but who knows what
If you know any kids in the family. Just ask them about it. What it is like in school. How many trans friend etc...
@@claudeyaz Nearly 1 in 5 people who identify as transgender are ages 13 to 17.
0.5% (1 in 200) adults are transgender.

There are no words for how amazing of a person you are man
Hey thanks, I really appreciate that. It's nice to have a kind comment fall in between a few who are condemning me for this video.
It means a lot.
@@Daniel_Batal yep
Daniel, thank you so much for taking on this email and proving that you are a lovely person and a great ally to the community. Be transgender myself; Danielle is correct when she said that most transgender people want to be left alone and to live out their life as them selfs.
Danielle is one smart cookie 😊
oh thank God. When I saw this on my recommended videos, I wondered, "am I going to have to say goodbye to Daniel"? I'm trans, and man, if you were "anti", that'd be a travesty. Thanks, man. I appreciate you publicizing this.

Carry on.
I came into this expecting a "stop following Mr Beast" video. It's good that this wasn't the case. Too many people would have made it that.
Thank you for having this conversation.
Happy to do so. ❤️☮️
Fantastic! Thank you both for letting us listen to a wonderful conversation!
And I love how you always tied everything back around to, “Be kind to one another.” Mad respect and I love your channel (having just stumbled upon it while trying to fix up my lacking DaVinci knowledge 😅)!

Thanks, Joe. I appreciate the kind words ☮️
I appreciate your common sense approach to issues. Cool, calm and respectful conversations are the way to go.
I try. I am certainly as flawed as anyone but I do try.
Can't thank Danielle enough for being much more brave than I will ever be and willing to be open about her journey. She's one of my favorite people.
Thanks, Pia. I think he ability to have calm, rational & honest discussions are what can cut through the fog of anger from all sides
There's a saying about the trans agenda .. our agenda is to remain alive and live our lives in peace.
@@debborich very much like my agenda 💜
The US news channels do a great job on telling us what we should support and what we should be angry about.
Great conversation🤙
You're so right. Between 24 hour news cycles and social media (and the fact we carry devices to consume all of it in our pockets now), it's easy to have our opinions swayed in many directions at the hands of people who might actually have an agenda.
To do a video like this, with actual real experience, and lead with kindness in this divided era it totally heroic, right on man🤘
Thanks, Vee. I tried my best to just have a conversation. I hope I came close to that goal.
@Daniel Batal its comforting and inspiring to see an example.of good honest people, the good you do is way way more than it seems, its no smaller than showing our race a good way to move forward together in peace. And i weigh my words carefully. Thank you❤️

Well said. I think it's that simple. Live and let live. Lead with kindness and understanding first.
Oddly, I half expected Danielle to be Daniel playing a character. 😅
It was actually refreshing that this was the case and he took it as seriously as it needs to be taken more often.
Didn’t quite understand what that controversy was about 🤷♂️
We need more open candid conversations like this. Regardsless of where you stand on the topics discussed.
I think the world needs more of them and not from me, Joe ☮️
I applaud this conversation and have the utmost respect for both of you for addressing this topic in this manner.
I am seeing Boycotting and Hostility all around me, and I can't relate to gender dysphoric but Granny has a past... I not only attended Woodstock, I was there during a bisexual phase of my life. Granted I am happily married to a wonderful man - together faithfully for decades now - but I think no less of either of you and encourage others to follow your example, have a civil conversation! But in any event, I'm a firm believer in Live & Let Live, To each their own!
Amen to that.
This video should most definitely be more popular... Now I see both sides and I thank you for that!
8:37 I had to pause the video as I was laughing too much! 😂 Danielle, girl SAME. Welcome to the female body LOL
Great video x
😅
The toxicitiy is heart-wrenching. I wish we humans would learn how to stop leading with hate and anger.

Those influenced for the better included my biased preacher grandpa as well. When Charlie passed I found gpa downstairs in the church van, too upset to continue the floor rounds. Before I hopped back out of the van he said, "I never expected to learn how to be a better christian from my own granddaughter."
Gpa died in 2012. His last words to me, "I'll tell Charlie and the gang you said, hello."
I think he learned more than anyone what unconditional love actually entails. I left "belief" behind in 2002. If it floats your boat... great. Just not my cuppa tea.
Not so easy to address this topic but you succeed to do it in a beautiful and respect way. Listen your friend Danielle speaking I have to say I don't see a trans-woman but a human being.
Same.
Just repeating what I commented on Twitter because every algorithm needs to see it: you’re a good human, Batal. 💙
❤️☮️
I'm glad you invited a trans woman to your show discussing difficult topics about Chris Tyson and I can say ignorance blinds people and can encourage them to go against the community.
Keep it up dude!
Thanks, man. Much appreciated.
I already knew you were a talented creator Daniel, now I realize you are a wonderful human too ❤
Opinions vary 😜
Right on, Sharon. ☮️
If only it were so simple ☮️
Thank you for this. As a trans person in the current climate I find myself hiding away quite a lot. I’m dismayed that people still see us as some kind of organised group of controlling abusers, which couldn’t be further from the truth. We need support and there isn’t much out there. Thanks both for having this discussion in the open
Thanks, Aeryn.
My hope is that rational, mature conversations somehow manage to cut through the fog of anger from all sides.
@@Daniel_Batal thanks I agree on the “all sides” for sure.
There are lots and lots of people who support trans people. Please don't stop living. You deserve to be happy and to have a life. Your bravery at just being alive is amazing.
I'm removing this reply from SImped because I was quite clear I wouldn't tolerate any hatred or personal attacks from either side.
@@Daniel_Batal I didn’t see it :)
One of the biggest things I realized moving to the Staates... So many people "fight' to live their life and "protected" their life yet don't want to give others that privilege. I say...live and let live.
Thank you Daniel for bringing up this topic
It sure does seem that way sometimes, Yvi
Daniel, I was not expecting this video and I am pleasantly surprised by it. Great work.... and not as "off-topic" as some may assume.
Thanks, Leroy.
I felt it was a topic worth discussing in the creator space
Danielle and Daniel! What a day! Two amazing People!!!😊
Thank you, Kathy.
We all come from the same group of UA-cam content creators. We all have our struggles.
I hope we all have each other's backs. ☮️❤️
Thanks to both of you for making this video. Hopefully that viewer actually watched and listened with an open heart and mind.
He actually commented and said 'Great video as always'. He didn't agree with everything we had to say and he felt I missed the point. I probably feel he missed the point a bit too but, much respect to him for not coming in looking for a fight like some other viewers did.
New Hampshire! I’m from New England ❤
Thanks a ton for this video.
It's nice to see voices of reason and peace in this chaotic world.
Daz.
Right on, Daz ☮️❤️
You are a kind and compassionate soul and it shows. Loved the conversation. Thank you both for sharing.
Thanks, Kelly
Thank you for this, Daniel. I figured you were a really down to earth person during the Filmora controversy and this video just solidified it for me. As someone who has been there, gender is confusing. Having a conversation about it is arguably the best thing we can do.
Agreed. ☮️
This video makes me appreciate you even more than I did before for your tech / video editing vids. You rock (again)!
Thank you kindly, Julie. I really appreciate that ☮️❤️
I was a little worried about watching this because this subject is normally politically charged but good job.
Agreed. (not on the great video part, that's for others to decide. But we are most definitely one and connected)
Thank you. Finally a rational discussion about a complicated topic that needs a rational and sane approach. ❤
The guys email was concerned with the "Transgender agenda" NOT a random trans dude.
Oh trust me, I heard him.
And "Mr. Beast's agenda"
And UA-cam's clear support of these "agendas"
I read his entire email and all of his commenbts but please, you tell me what he meant becasue clearly you seem to have insights and a need to clarify for me.
Thanks for bringing love.
Live and Let Live.
As a trans guy myself, I was skeptical clicking on the video but this is a really good video, bringing in danielle was a great idea.
I appreciate that. Danielle is one of my favorite people ☮️
What are you ladies having... That is what I was thinking. People do that in America too. lol Long hair = girl
Ngl bro i thought you were Tom Ayra of Slayer for a second
To quote the great seafaring philosopher, Capt. Jack Sparrow;
"The problem is not the problem. The problem is your attitude to the problem"
A more sensible conversation about this topic has not been had. The best way to combat bad information, is not censorship or outrage, but good information, as shown here.
I appreciate the kind words. The world could use more of that attitude.
Danielle is pretty awesome, huh?
I support you, hope you have a good journey. My partner killed themselves after the surgery 🥺
I’ve seen so many nasty and spiteful videos about trans topics on UA-cam lately, ty for making a kind and civil one
Same.
❤️☮️
This was a wonderful, and needed, conversation. When we can see each other as human beings-in all of the fullness and failing that entails- that’s when the world gets better.
Agreed, Amy. ☮️❤️
I find it hard not to get annoyed that the people who most want to interfere in other people's personal lives often seem to be the ones who carry on the most about "freedom". They have a habit of calling other folks sheep yet are offended by the very people who are possibly the least sheep-like of all 🤔
For people trying to make sense of these things, I strongly recommend the Gender Unicorn. It's easily found on Google. It's excellent because it covers multiple continuums and we're all on there somewhere!
Personally, I look forward to a time when none of this has to be a big thing and we just get on with our lives.
Me too.
Danielle is amazing! It will be great when all of this gets to the point that people stop worrying about what other people are doing to their bodies.
Couldn't agree more, Nick ☮️❤️
Really appreciate this conversation
Excellent discussion and many thanks to both of you. Important. ❤❤
Thank you for this, and thank you for bringing in a voice in that is affected by all this hate and garbage being spewed.
Yep. She’s from Wales.
Danielle used the term "professionally outraged". Yeah, there are too many of this type around these days. I've been referring to them as "professional offence takers" for years.
Great conversation. The blind hate and finger pointing is getting us no where. Kindness Matters. Thanks Danielle for sharing.
Agreed
[spoiler alert: it's not our fashion]
I'd rather we have a frank discussion about rampant phone use behind the wheel, rather than fight people over how they want to live their lives.
@@Daniel_Batal You're right - and I'm glad you weren't commenting & driving :D
I have to say, even as a conservative person who doesn't agree with a lot of things going on in the world regarding the LGBTQ, I have to say this video is great. Regardless of people's beliefs we all deserve kindness, patience, and LOVE. We can do bigger and better things together if we look at the commmon ground. If people don't like something just keep it moving or don't purposely be rude and that's for EVERYONE.
Coulcn't agree more ☮️
I mean i support trans people because of the health organizations that talk about how sex isnt gender , even if you dont believe that for religion reasons you can still not hate. i mean yk whats not a choice being mean and spreading rumors like "he left his wife and kids because he was gay" , the wife devorced him because she didnt want to be on camera or publicly known (not because he is bi ) and he never left his kid. spreading false rumors no matter if you belive in lgbt is wrong .
The extremist ‘Us vs. Them’ mentality that has become more prevalent with social media and 24 hour news cycles worries me constantly
@@Daniel_Batal Me, too. I've actually cut WAY back on watching/reading the news for that very reason; they're just fanning the flames for ratings at this point. I'd much rather just focus on learning Davinci from you 😊
Great video Sir!
I was nervous clicking the thumbnail, but glad I did. History will not look kindly on folks that harbor these bigoted views. Thank you for making this.
I really tried my best to be completely neutral with the title and thumbnail. Not something that's easy to do, considering the topic.
This is a wonderful video. Thanks for making it! Now I want to be Danielle's friend too!
Stop trying to steal my friends, Arvid. 😜
@@Daniel_Batal 🤣
Just let people be who they are. How is this such a difficult concept to grasp for some people?
Agreed. Especially when being who they are isn’t harming anyone else.
I love you so much Daniel! So great to see you and Danielle having this discussion.
Isn't she awesome? I'm so glad to have a friend like her in my life. Really helps me understand conversations like this better.
@@Daniel_Batal She was one of the very first creators I met when she had her channel Cutting the Caboose.
Same. One of my very first 'UA-camr' friends.
Finally an Adult conversation about this.
That's the point 'Adult'.
I appreciate that.

I’m an old man too. And we agree.
Thanks for making this video.
My pleasure!
