These lures were named after ‘Budgie Smugglers’ which is what jocks and speedo’s are commonly called here in Aus and Budgie Smugglers were named as such because well, it looks like you’re smuggling a Budgerigar
Sometimes, in small water, the fish will follow the bait all the way to shore where it is forced to make a last second decision to eat or not. So standing back away from the waters edge and reeling it all the way to the bank, and being prepared for that late hit may help.
Nice vid. I use a lot of crawlers for pike. They often follow it to the boat or bank, so I walk it in place at the end or do an L turn if I'm in a boat. They are fascinated by it and sometimes bite, sometimes just look. You got pretty good at the techniques you can use.
David Barton I haven’t been like fishing in a long time but from what I remember about it that sounds about right. That seems like it would be a good bait for Pike for sure
Hey mate nice video. Me and my friend use chase baits here in Australia for bass. The rip snorter is by far my favourite. Keep up the good work, got a new sub.
@@JakeKeenom all good mate, they are really good for skipping under low hanging trees and because they're weedless it's nearly impossible to lose them on snags. Do you have a Facebook page? I will send pics of some of my catches
the good old Aussie cockatoo lure being used in America i've got a couple of these lures haven't used them as yet brought them for a murray cod fishing trip i'm trying to plan atm.
@@JakeKeenom thanks dude I’ve never fished for Murray cod before but it’s one of my bucket list fish so definitely keen to get one Would be even better if I got a 1mtr plus but I’d be happy with anything lol
