I'm not saying this is 100% but I had friend who worked for the FSB in Russia from 11'-20' and his unit was cycled through Syria around this time. When he came back, he brought up about this incident and about 6 others where open source geolocation played into Russia carrying out raids and strikes. He stated as far as his admin team was made aware, the majority of the info was already known but wasn't acted on till it gained "popularity". Basically he said Russia knew these groups and locations but didn't care as they were not a threat yet and if/when they took them out they wanted it to be known so they could have good public relations as "we took out evil al queda/ISIS/ISIL groups" vs them not being known and western media calling them "freedom fighter group assassinated by Russian strikes". Don't worry my friend left Russia before the Ukraine conflict kick off, he was made aware his FSB unit would be restructured and more than likely sent, so he sold his family's farm and took a long vacation to Cuba then Brazil and now he lives Mexico.
Its funny at 16:00 how they coin "autism" whenever they need to acknowledge cognitive skill on the one hand that exceeds their own while at the same time fetching for a rhetoric vehicle of defamation. This is utterly unrelated to the concepts of what intelligence is and what autism is.
As an autistic person, I can say that I'm sad about that exact thing. Autism gets a bad rap because of it and its honestly really depressing. Autism doesn't automatically make you mentally ill or an absolute maniac. It just gives the person a slight disadvantage on the social front while giving them a slight advantage academically. Fuck whoever says it's a mental illness. It's not.
@@Rsp-gp2wh you are 100% right. It is just that the more intelligent you are, the more implied assumptions on behaviour you make; issue being that these assumptions falsify due to lack of intelligence in the average. For example: honesty. If all people were smarter, the average honesty was increased. We overestimate the average smartness and thus honesty due to our own smartness, thus falling short in social interactions that expect more dishonesty. And the list goes on. So, yeah. It is not a mental illness. It is a plethora of false assumptions that no-one seeks to inform about because they rather frame you in fright of your talent. It is the same as with managers who suck technically but will tell you that their skill is the social part and the work with humans. They just lie and attempt keeping you in your place. My advice: Ignore everyone, do what you are best at, think of how you can market and sell that, and then learn about all the shortcoming of your customer, so you can emulate their language.
Many people on 4chan are neurodivergent and this is a title they coined themselves you really think a bunch of internet trolls are going to be pc when describing themselves? This is also not a insult they are pointing out they are so focused and smart they can weaponize their collective efforts to get one over on people. I have yet to see them fail to geolocate anything with a video in less than 24 hours that they felt offended by.
A person with one or more highly misunderstood differences that inhibits their ability to function in modern society despite potentially having specialized skills that would dramatically benefit society if properly utilized. Of course, society labels the person based on how dysfunctional they are perceived to be, and the ones doing the labeling are often the most non-empathetic and closed-minded people imaginable.

Just a friendly tip for anyone wanting a perfectly legal way to practice your geolocation skills. Real estate agents tend to be a little bad about how they post some of their ads online I have noticed in the past. The address points to one place on google maps, but the property isn't there, but at some other location that isn't properly selected instead. To be fair to the agents, this might be googles fault somehow. Either or, it creates a needle in a haystack scenario, where you have to find the property based on the info the agent has left on the ad. Bonus, some of you might find some cheap land worth picking up and settling on. But overall the tip is for helping refine the geolocation skills moreso. Best one I've done so far, was a farm that was about 50km away from where the google pin landed.
That's pretty interesting, but wasn't 4chan on a constant decline since the past days of its glory (they've gradually lost all the ability to cooperate, organize and do something/anything together as a community). It's all carried on by the bygone days of hackery, scary and anarchistic reputation, but nowadays it's mostly useless and harmless trashfire of a website unless you're too dumb to share your sensitive stuff (but that goes for any other place or forum), which is a challenge on its own considering the moderation (discord invites are getting nuked in mere minutes). Nonetheless, the video is awesome! Thank you for creating such a good content!
Yeah. I don't know when 4chan's "peak glory" was but they're definitely not what these blind, ignorant people make them out to be. If you check /b/ you'll see it's just full of porn threads, some of them morally questionable- lolis, incest (LOTS of it. Lots of incest threads and stories.), I wouldn't be surprised if one day I see a "very youthful woman" on there. Visual Venture made them out to be nerdy basement dwellers, but also genius hackers, when in fact, most of the user base is porn-addicted incels with a few "geniuses" who haven't stooped to the incels' levels here and there.
4 chan was a brilliant place back in the 2000's then around the rise of social media more and more people kept hearing about it and visiting to see what it was all about and eventually the small resemblance to structure that was held devolved rapidly into "anonymous trolls" and people who just wanted to share something disturbing either for a laugh or because they felt comfortable confessing without a name or face. The last few times I've gone to check out how it's going it's always been an absolute wasteland of its former self filled to the brim with NSFW content over genuine discussion.
I saw a video regarding the Syrian War in a video a few motnhs ago. Here's a brief context- A boy(student if I am correct) drew a graffiti badmouthing Bashar-al-Asad/ regime of Syria. In return, the authority began to search for the suspect who did that. They captured a few student and brutally tortured them for like 45 days. When the suspects (all were students) were finally released, it resulted in a huge anger among the public seeing the condition of those students which resulted in mass protests. The regime pulled out their military to crush the protestors and started capturing the peaceful protestors. If i am correct, they tortured the protestors too. Bit by bit this all escalated when other groups(terrorists and non-terrorists) started getting involved in it. I might have missed something in this cause I cant really remember all the details. Correct me if i am wrong or i missed something.
yes pretty much only missed the part were hamza was cut into like 20 pieces and just thrown at his parents doorstep or how the government literally castrated male protestors and claimed everyone who is against them is a terrorist. Probably the reason these random rebels got air striked in the first place. Russian propaganda is insane man
@@gareonconley1956 and the "genius" 4chan group support and condemn what the president is doing, litrelly 99% of them are bottom feeders, losers that know nothing about real life but corn
The thing to remember is that 4chan is not a group, it's a place. It's the equivalent of internets back alley, and whether it is creepy, weird or scary, or just a normal alley, depends entirely on the people that have gathered there and what they are doing at the moment - there might be a bunch of dudes kicking someone to death, or there might be some kids who are playing with pokemon cards, or there could be both of those at the same time, just in different parts of the alley. But there is always an audience there - the people in adjacent buildings who mostly look trough the windows, maybe yell something if they see something interesting, but rarely if ever go down in there themselves. And I am one of those, because for better or worse, this is an interesting place to watch.
Context : terroists recorded video of them recruiting soliders, 4chan got mad and found their camp locstion using electrcity towers, 4chan user messaged a user assoicated with the russian air force, gave him the coordinates and boom
Keep in mind, the long wait before the “and boom” part was to coordinate with intelligence assets to confirm the target. So we don’t have to worry about the question posed at the end of this story.
Props for the disclaimer. Not many channels like yours would be willing to say "take this with a grain of salt" in so many words. They just regurgitate the same stories and the same information from the same sources while saying it's true. Fun fact: That's 100% how the myth that we eat X number of spiders per year in our sleep got started. It was a study to see how stories like this get spread through the news. And this was in the early 90's. Researchers put out the story and watched it go viral as everyone just cited the same article.
I have an attention span that blows away with the slightest breeze.... But I like your episodes. You obviously done your research on so many things and I have no idea about so many things on the internet and the way that you break it down is fantastic actually. I will keep watching! Keep up the good work, you're good at it. 💚
I think that 4chan is such an amazing place, because of their sense of unity, they are able to do just about anything if they make their fellows want it too!

I wasn't on the particular boards involved with this, but I did get up to some other shenanigans like finding Shia Lebouf's He Will Not Divide Us flags, and then there's also the whole don't fuck with cats situation, It was amazing what could be accomplished just through collective effort.
"Unlike other communities, 4chan doesn't have a registration system. This means that posters and lurkers could freely upload without revealing details about themselves." "Because of anonymity, 4chan users felt free to express their honest thoughts without fear of judgement." "That same anonymity meant they could say virtually anything they want with practically zero accountability." I don't get it, why frame these in a negative light? You do know what the point of free speech as a right is, right?
It is kinda funny to see the world being ignorant of the massacre in syria or what really happend. the president of syria who have killed his people is a good guy who receive help and those who fought agaist the oppresion of the corrupt goverment is the terrorist? it is just this funny to see people on the internet talking about the war in syria while ignorant about wtf did go there. as someone who was forced out of it in 2014 altho at the end of the war, the whole war became a game this lost its purpose, it did start for the reason of stopping the oppression agaist them
You know there was a book I read recently called Long Way Gone by Ishmael Beah and it gave a person that has never left American person like me a idea about how little we know about the wars going on in any other country
It’s broad. One FSA general said that when they first encountered Jabhat al-Nusra, they were extremely organized. Assad recalled troops from the north bank of the Euphrates to suppress protestors and Jabhat al-Nusra was able to gain a lot of support there and at one point held a quarter of Syria in Northern Syria including major cities like Raqqa. The Free Syrian Army, another rebel group who were mostly defects from the army, were disorganized and scattered. They sometimes teamed up with Jabhat al-Nusra to conduct operations. Then of course ISIS came and just took everything for themselves soooo… But who exactly is Jabhat al-Nusra? Well, long story short, it’s literally the Syrian Wing of al-Qaeda. Yes you heard me right. Pretty much everything other rebel group allied with them to take a piece of the pie at the time before ISIS came. al-Nusra then changed its name to al-Nusra Front and officially broke ties with al-Qaeda to present itself as more mediate. These groups eventually combined to form Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (forgive me if there was a spelling error i’m doing this out of memory) which still holds a small fraction of the Idlib province today. I support Assad in this war. Not because I support the suppression of the protests but mostly because Syria would have ended up worse either way. At best, we will either end up with the Syrian Wing of al-Qaeda, an extremely disorganized group of Syrian defects who would likely rule the country even worse than the Taliban or ISIS. We will likely get what happened in Libya but this time with these guys. How many more people will die? The present situation is not good at all. We can’t expect the Kurds to hold the entire Syria as the Syrians will definitely revolt. Even the small portion they hold right now is already causing too much. Right now, FSA only holds a small amount of territory and that’s alongside Turkey in northern Idlib. The Americans hold some territory in the Southern end but that’s only because there is oil there and it is part of the highway that connects the 2 ends of Syria.
@@bravesttacos Yea, sadly this is true most people assume this the whole war was pointless, the whole war was expected and even planned, they just needed a justification to massacare people and they planned it well.
@@thesilentpearl8575 it is simply this those who did fight for freedom died first, only the corrupt have remained, i can understand why you would support Assad, 1st is a president this is massacring people and is being open and always was about it the 2nd is people who claim to fight for people when all they care about is money and power, and they are doing the same as the assad but are acting like heros and shit those who did fight for freedom with pure intents died at the start of the war, those who didnt die did flee after seeing what really was happening in the whole "war". the millitary highers getting paid while throwing those who really want free the land. but this still doesnt mean i support the pig called assad, i dont need to support a side, we would say he is better then the current 2nd option. but regardless a killer this will burn in hell
My favorite theory is that Taylor regularly goes on 4chan. Some people over there like it and believe it while some are shutting it down. Imagine the biggest popstar of the modern age just scrolling on /b/
He was just trying to demonstrate how much local detail you can get on Google maps by zooming in. There wasn't any reason it needed to be in Syria, just something that could show identifiable surface features.
This is one of the things that separates the real world from the world of comic books. In the real world, if someone tries supervillain-tier meglomaniacal video threats, the get caught with breathtaking speed. It's not just 4chan. The Alternate Reality Game community is also terrifyingly skilled at geolocation. I remember one game that had a picture of an odd cityscape. It took less than a day for interested individuals to locate the city it was taken in, Houston. This caught my attention because it's my hometown and I didn't recognize the buildings as being part of downtown - they weren't, they were from one of the multiple other commercial development areas in town. Within a couple hours of that, other users had located the building the picture was taken from (a hotel) and had some solid guesses as to which floors of the building it could be shot from. This wasn't even the second-to-last time during this game it would happen. This ARG was tiny, with maybe twenty public players working together, and a secondary group of a handful of players who kept their work secret for the first half of the game. The main character continued to post pictures of his life, and I ended up playing a major role in piecing together clues from the real-world information by being the guy of the ground, but I was far from the most useful member of the team when it came to figuring out what was going on and where. Geolocation and search engine research were powerful enough to put me in front of the gate by which the guy running the game entered and exited his apartment complex more than fifteen years ago. It could have gone further, possibly all the way to locating the guy's actual apartment, but that didn't push the game forward so it never came up.
I'm just wondering if they can redirect the voting this year, if they can redirect a fricking missile and find a person within hours off of basically nothing. "Vote for [insert random person who has no idea about it]"
To be honest at first I thought they fed some wrong information to some intelligence agency to cause a strike on the wrong target. Turns out it was just some basic geolocation, not really a 4chan strike.

I miss the pre Trump 4chan man.
To be honest considering he was FSB he wouldn't have been sent to Donetsk but he'd be dealing with the current raid on kursk
This is exactly what i thought happened
4Chan is something else. Sometimes they put aside their differences to find a cat killer, while other times they send an airstrike to rebel bases.

The title shocked me at first. Then I remembered that this is 4chan we're talking about.
4chan has been on a constant decline since 2003
Mostly the bot posting made that certain section of the board unusable.

Correct me if i am wrong or i missed something.
nah, thats a decent TLDR. Obviously its hard to boil down any complex issue to something so short but you did a good job.

It is kinda funny to see the world being ignorant of the massacre in syria or what really happend.
the president of syria who have killed his people is a good guy who receive help

it is just this funny to see people on the internet talking about the war in syria while ignorant about wtf did go there.
as someone who was forced out of it in 2014
altho at the end of the war, the whole war became a game this lost its purpose, it did start for the reason of stopping the oppression
agaist them
You know there was a book I read recently called Long Way Gone by Ishmael Beah and it gave a person that has never left American person like me a idea about how little we know about the wars going on in any other country
Then of course ISIS came and just took everything for themselves soooo…
But who exactly is Jabhat al-Nusra?
@@bravesttacos Yea, sadly this is true
most people assume this the whole war was pointless, the whole war was expected and even planned, they just needed a justification to massacare people and they planned it well.
@@thesilentpearl8575 it is simply this those who did fight for freedom died first, only the corrupt have remained,
i can understand why you would support Assad,
1st is a president this is massacring people and is being open and always was about it
the 2nd is people who claim to fight for people when all they care about is money and power, and they are doing the same as the assad but are acting like heros and shit
those who did fight for freedom with pure intents died at the start of the war, those who didnt die did flee after seeing what really was happening in the whole "war".
the millitary highers getting paid while throwing those who really want free the land.
but this still doesnt mean i support the pig called assad, i dont need to support a side, we would say he is better then the current 2nd option.

Google bombs 💣 I always joked about it but it’s real? 😨
Fascinating and scary! Thanks for the great video!
