- An in depth review of the brand new 2022 Yamaha TMAX Tech Max scooter. Is it the best scooter in the world? Let's find out.
The Yamaha TMAX has long been the go to premium scooter of the world and it for 2022 it has had some big updates. Including cruise control, heated seats and grips and lots more, now called the Tech Max. Perfect for city commuting but also great on faster roads. This is no ordinary scooter.
I recently rode the Honda X-ADV 750, which is an amazing scooter. All of the practical benefits of a scooter but rides like a motorcycle. Is the new TMAX Tech Max better than the X-ADV 750?

I'M 62 and always ad a bike since I was able to drive. Tmax is the best bike in the world. I wont tell you why but, when you try it you will know. This video is recording the engine sound at 60 but in reality you do not ear it at 60 mph. It's like you are being push by a magic force. I can ride it for 7 hrs with a smile on my face. Sooo much fun.🏍
It is a great scooter, but I may dispute it being the best bike in the world!! 👍
It's a great bike (I own it too), but a little boring after more than an hour of riding, that's my only complain :)
I bought one last month following a nasty accident on my Speedmaster that smashed my left leg…. After 40 years of bikes, I never thought I’d be happy with a scooter… how wrong I was. Even though I think the TMax is a bit to expensive for what it is, I soon forgot about the price once I started to ride it. It’s just so easy and convenient, plenty quick enough for an old fart like me and all in all great fun.👍
Hi, sorry to hear about your accident. That sounds nasty! I hope your leg is recovering ok 👍
Good for you for jumping back on the "horse" again. Yup I was surprised at how fun this scooter is, it actually handles like a motorcycle. Like you say it has plenty of power to have some fun with, will easily go over UK speed limit!! Hope you continue to enjoy it. All the best
Love it old fart riding is the best. Who needs to be macho man when one can tour at a leisurely pace in exceptional comfort?
Totally agree. Been on bikes since I was 16, 60 next year. Just changed from an R1200RT to a tech max. I just need the weather and roads to improve so I can use it🛵
How are the maintanence costs?
@@dIsAstErTR Dunno… serviced it myself up to now..
I discovered these amazing bikes 15 years ago and I have never been without a Tmax ever since. 500, 530 and now 560 Tech Max what great fun. And NOT town or just commuter bikes I have travelled in Europe several times and they are very comfy and capable long distance machines. Expensive yes but worth it!
👍 Great to hear you have taken them touring as well, they are such capable machines
This is so much more than a scooter, it’s a full on tourer. I’ve just got back from a 2 week 4000 mile trip to Sorrento on my tracer 900gt. Once back I tried one of these, it could do the same trip with ease. This bike is more tourer, than commuter. For commuting I would stick to a low weight 300cc scoot.
👍 It is the pinnacle of the scooter world that is for sure! A very impressive machine. Think I would still prefer to do the 4000 mile trip on the Tracer 9 😁
Still the TMAX is extremely capable. If just in the city I agree, a smaller cc scooter would be easier to live with.
As a ' dyed in the wool ' biker, I have always regarded scooters as pretty but impractical. Not anymore! Thanks to UA-cam, I have discovered the world of Super Scooters. What a revelation. I now own a 2019 Tmax 530 and I am hooked. I will be swapping up to a full spec 560 as soon as a good pre owned model becomes available. What an amazing machine. my last tourer was a 2014 FJR which I loved. I now love my Tmax , it does everything I need it do. This review was the clincher that resulted in my visit to my local Yamaha dealer, Phoenix Yamaha Trowbridge, great team, they have looked after my biking needs for years now, and I have my first scooter. Thanks for the great review, it was very informative and helpful.
Hi, thanks so much. Thats great to know the review was helpful to you and really glad you enjoyed it. I actually bought my first ever bike from Phoenix Yamaha Trowbridge (Tracer 700) 👌
All the best to you
You didn't really exploit how good the frame is on this TMAX it's so good it will keep up with any competent rider in the twistys, i think the problem with this scooter is
that bikers are a bit scared to try it as they might like it, i've got one in my collection of sports bikes, adventure bikes, and supermotos, and hands down it's the comfiest
most practical thing on two wheels, i think bikers are to hung up on image but i can travel a long distance on mine with comfort and have lots of fun to boot.
Hi Tony, yes sorry about that, its hard to fit everything into the videos! But you are right it is a brilliant chassis, handles so well its surprising. You can really hustle it 😁
Agreed I think practicality wise it is hard to beat, just so easy and comfortable. Plus loads of storage space.
I personally wouldn't have one as my only bike, but as a second or 3rd 100%. Cheers
I'm a 55 year old lifelong sportbike rider, now power cruiser like 1500 Vulcan Classic, Stryker 1300, and I just got a Honda Elite 250 and I'm smitten. I had a Honda 50 in 1986 in high school, so I love scooters, but in my older years my Elite 250 gets a majority of my time and I'm going to trade my beloved Stryker in for a TMAX. Scooter life is where it's at. It's JUST FUN !!!
Enjoy the ride 😎
Great review
As having previous experience of the tmax
I can tell you they were 7k new back in 2003.i had 2 one for work and one for shits n giggles
Everything that was lacking has now been refined
eg the short screen for higher speeds, upside down forks, spun forged wheels.lack of abs used to be a hoot, hanging the arse out from a scoot which is 7' long.
You'll run out of speed way before you'll find its limits
Very much a wolf in sheep's clothing and should not be underestimated 👍
Many thanks I appreciate it 👍 Glad you enjoyed the review.
That is not much of a price increase over the years then! Haha yes I bet you could have some fun with out the ABS!! They really are impressive to ride. Cheers
A great video, the action you were demonstrating reminds me of my Tricity 300 very comfortable, and the twist and go gets me ahead every time at the lights no gear changing it just accelerates all the way up to the speed you want very smoothly. I bought the Tricity for easy handling when parking at my old age. If Yamaha put that TMAX Tech engine in a redesigned Tricity they would have a beast and a half. Virtually nothing would make those front wheels slide out and the front braking would be out of this world even in the wet.
I look at these new designs not as scooters but as hybrid motorbikes. Until you ride one you have no idea how comfortable they are.
Thanks so much, I appreciate it and glad you liked the video 👍 Absolutely the Tricity with this engine would be a winner. I always get burnt at the light s from scooter riders haha
Took me a while to get used the the Tricity handling, but definitely has its benefits. Cheers
OK stop with the scooters before I get so into them that my motorcycle license is revoked!😀Great video! My wife and I both watched it for no other reason that many, many years ago she owned a 50cc Suzuki scooter whose max speed was 30mph and she used it in the small town we lived in at that time. She loved it and shamefully so did I though I had two or three motorcycles at the time none of which was less than 550cc. I'll have to disavow any positive scooter comment if this should be seen by any of my motorcycle buddies!😎
😂 Thanks glad you both liked the video! They are so much fun and so practical as well. I can see why people enjoy them, just so easy.
I would hang on to your motorbike for now. If I lived in a hot country in a city/town I would 100% get a scooter, but I would still need that fix of a geared motorcycle. Nothing beats that. Haha lets hope your buddies don't read your comment 😉 Cheers
Those gold wheels look amazing! I downgraded to a PCX150 in 2014 after last riding a GL1100 Interstate in '94. The twist-and-go and nimbleness is just so practical, especially around town. Next on the list is a TMAX, but probably 'only' a 2017 model due to budget constraints.
👍 It is certainly a striking looking scooter! The TMAX is just so practical like lots of other scooters, I think where it shines is in its performance and premium parts. Yes I think the best value for money is perhaps a lower cc model. Still great for in town. Cheers
Great review. btw what jacket are you wearing?
I haven't ridden the T Max so I can't make a fair comparison but I own a Suzuki Burgman AN650 Executive (sadly they are no longer available in Australia where I live) but looking at the T Max and the Burgman as mine is configured I feel the Burgman is a better bike and in my view the benchmark for maxi scooters. My model is a 2009 version with ABS, 650 twin with a CVT and belt drive. The electrically adjustable screen and electrically fold in mirrors are standard. It has plenty of power with a manual option for highway riding that provides a 6th gear for improved fuel economy. I don't mean to rubbish the T Max it is just that it was not as well speced at the time. It has picked up it's act and is a better equipped bike now. The screen on the T Max has a good amount of travel but I think the Burgman's screen is taller and wider giving better wind protection at high speed. Those are my thoughts. Thanks for your review.
Hi, it is interesting to hear your point of view on it 👍 I must try out the Burgman some time. Cheers
I picked up a burgman 400 limited edition 2010, absolutely pristine condition, 6,000 miles, for £2,900. I still have a Yamaha tracer, as I’ve always wanted 2 bikes. What I did notice, on this t max, is that it doesn’t take 2 helmets, like the older burgman, as I sometimes ride pillion as well. I am not slating the tmax, but it’s dam pricey, compared to the burgman, which candy the job for a fraction of the job. My only grumble on my burgman, is the suspension, it does not like rough surfaces, and potholes. I may well some day consider a tmax, but Yamaha don’t have them in Glasgow, so would have to look elsewhere. I can’t even get a test ride locally. I’ll ride my burgman meanwhile, as I love the relaxation on it, and the automatic gear box. It’s an eye catching scooter, as I haven’t seen any in Scotland at all. Safe riding to all.👍🏍
Sounds like a good buy 👍 Hope you continue to enjoy it. The TMAX is very expensive but you get what you pay for with it. It has a lot of tech and the riding dynamics are brilliant! I suppose the question is does one need all that tech on a scooter? Cheers
An XMax - 292cc - has much better storage. Can fit two helmets and is less than half the price of the TMax.
That tiny bit of wind on the helmet is probably because the section is missing for the step through the wind does catch you there with that missing
These maxi scooters are looking very tempting. Easy to use, good storage and they look comfortable . Might get a bit boring after awhile, think you would need a motorbike as well, just to blow your mind now and again.
They really are worth considering! As you say so easy to ride etc... This TMAX has plenty of GO as well. But yes I would very much miss a geared motorcycle for pleasure rides. They are not to be looked down on these scooter though!
be certain to buy enough CC's to keep you entertained on your first buy! No replacement for displacement!
@@johnadams-fn4nd you're so very right 😁
I am looking for a motor scooter not having ridden a motorcycle for about 40 years. The one aspect I find missing from all the scooter videos I have seen is the ease (or otherwise) with which it can be put on the center stand. Probably not important to experienced riders, but to me this is important.
Nice review Angus, as always! 👍🏻
That’s one fine machine for commuting all year around as one can buy proper winter tires in these scooter sizes. In my case the heart would win over the head though… for that kind of money I would rather buy two Royal Enfields. An Interceptor 650 for the summer and a Himalayan for the winter season.
Cheers!
Thanks I appreciate it 👍 Glad you liked the review.
Yes such a practical all year round scooter. Has everything you need!
Yes I completely agree, it is just too expensive for what I want. 100% would prefer the Royal Enfields! Cheers
To bad RE doesn't build a maxi scoot! They do build beautiful rides!
Great review thank you
It is my pleasure, glad you enjoyed it
I’m really tempted to try one of these, my only concern being how the smaller diameter wheels cope with our crater ridden roads here in the UK?
The suspension is very good on this specific model
Really well presented and informative review!
Thanks so much I really appreciate that, glad you enjoyed the review 👍
The tmax costs more than double that here in Norway.
The first scooter I tried was a tiny 50cc and it was unstable and terrifying to ride. Was a friend of mines.
I've had many big motorcycles, but because of health reasons I got a 2019 Xmax 300 and love it. It's the second most comfortable bike I've had, after the Pan European. I'm definitely keeping the scooter. Cheap to own and simple maintenance.
They really are so good, for many different reasons. Practical, easy and fun to ride 👍
This bike is amazing very practical and efficient!
Man, I wish they would bring this to the states in the US beautiful bike
Oh man, I live in USA and didn't know these were unobtainium.
Thanks Angus, great that you reviewed the bike that I'm most likely to purchase. They handle really well don't they? Being a twin its much better than the xmax 400 for example and much more nimble. I bought a new Honda Forza 300 which has an electric screen and was around £5k. Great as a London commuter and I have had it for 4 years now. But the tmax keeps getting my attention and really want one. Take care and sit back and relax now its the summer hols!
Hey, glad you liked this one 👌 Yup they handle so well, it's really impressive! Like a sports bike really. So much fun in the city and out of the city as well, blasting around the country lanes haha
I guess this would be the next step up for you from the Forza 300? Very pricey for a scooter, but it really is an impressive machine. Not much it can't do. Haha cheers, can certainly relax on these big scooters 😁
@@redangrevival yes I rode a nc700 Integra scooter bike with early dct as a first big bike. Sold it a year later as too heavy and preferred cv belt transmission and lighter handling of a more conventional scooter. Tmax guys were quick!
@@aaronharris5275 Ok fair enough. Yup the DCT is much better nowadays, but the belt transmission is just seamless! TMax is the best of both worlds I think, powerful but also practical like a scooter 👍
Have owned 2 of these a 2017 530 and then a 2020 560, with both i bought the bog stock TMAX at about 10k and then spec'd both up with an Acropovic and lots of shiny bits, this brought the price up to about 12k, i never wanted cruise, electric screen etc and prefered to keep the weight down a bit and therefore had no interest in the top spec models. However thats all over now as you cannot buy the base models anymore (you can on the continent) and so have to buy the top spec complete with a load of nonsence you may or may not want, spec it up with Acropovich and shiny bits and you are then up at an eyewatering 15k. Fraid i've bought my last and will stick with my 2020. Have to correct you on "lean it to much and you may lose it" absolute utter nonsence my man, summer riding you can throw it into anything it is rock solid, if you have the cahonies it will let you know when to back off when you touch the centre stand or the Acropovic on right handers, even doing this you are not on the limit of grip or the edge of the tyres but you are cranked over at very impresive angles that a lot of "real" bikes would be impressed with if not bettered, the clue is Sports scooter and they race these bad boys in Italy, it does have a fairly long wheel base so wont turn in like a sports bike but crucially it isnt a million miles off. Great open minded review btw
Many thanks I appreciate it and glad you enjoyed the review 👍 Yes I suppose you could see it as they are over complicating the scooter which is just making the price way too high! I agree I am sure you can lean it over a lot, just takes some getting used to coming from a motorcycle.
Cheers
I had the early Tmax which I liked, I would like to revisit this bike but the cost is just too prohibitive, even second hand they want a fair few money vouchers.
They are great scooters, fully equipped etc.. But yup you are paying for it!
I don't like the CVT so called transmission, should have a DCT it will last without needing to change out belts.
Great review, do you mind sending link to your phone mount? Thanks x
Thank I appreciate it. Sorry no link! I bought it from a shop called Halfords in UK. Actually meant for bicycles
@@redangrevival thanks ;)
Correct me if I am wrong….but if it is TECH max it should come with navigation? So I am wondering why you have phone attached for navigation?
Just easier and quicker for a one time review
Please could you answer the question; is the TMAX better than the XADV?
It is better in some ways but worse in others!! The X-ADV is more of a motorcycle than scooter. The X-ADV is more premium build quality, and a better ride in my opinion.
However the TMAX, is better for in town\city riding and is more practical for everyday use. It is slower than the Honda, but handles just as well if not better. I would have the Honda. I hope that helps!
@@redangrevival I own a X ADV and Tmax and like 90% what you said is incorrect.
First of all, the X ADV has more plastic and cheap material then the Tmax. The Tmax has stronger material.
Second, the Tmax is faster thanks to the clutch system. The ADV does not shift as quickly as you think because of the DCT clutch. The handling of the tmax in corners and so is also much better then the ADV.
Third, these are totally two different bikes and cannot be compared. But for in the city, the Tmax is the best.
@@mojo3717which would you recommend for more rural commuting within some 60/70mph roads but also lots of filtering in very slow traffic? I do about 12 miles of NSL road and the same again in heavy traffic, roughly 50 minutes of travel 🏍️
Love these, had an x max 250 which was my everyday go to transport over my car or my mcycle. As a commuter and comfort machine unbeatable. Had an nc 750 dct and have had to go back to gears. Very easy maintenance too. Very easy to scratch unfortunately. Very and over expensive though. There’s a very old vlog on here where an early t max 500 is chasing ahonda blackbird in mountains somewhere and the blackbird just couldn’t get away. Obs lots of curves and bursts of acceleration and who knows who was riding each but was impressive nonetheless less
Amazingly practical pieces of kit! Personally I think the 560 is over priced, the 250 actually has more storage space as well 👍 Great fun to ride, I can definitely understand how the T Max kept pace on the blackbird! Like you say depends on the rider though haha
Nice piece of kit RR I reckon all these bike with screen should by now be electric so that's good don't like the idea of linked brakes and for that money ya have one heel of a lot of better stuff to ride out there, but hey she ain't bad . 😁👌
Cheers 👍 Agreed the electric screen is a game changer, really very good wind protection. However it does add weight, which may be a down fall for other bikes! I know what you mean with the linked brakes, but they are incredibly strong. Very nice to know they are there, but it does rob you of some of the feel.
Yup agreed, nearly 13k! Bit much considering what else you could get for that money.
No, not a review but a broad plug. You need to highlight the downsides i.e. unstable during crosswinds, length of distance from seat to feet (how tall are you?); your knees and legs tend to splay outwards; width of foot stand, where my size 12 wants to leak sideways off the rest etc.
Of course it's a great scooter but you must pay attention to weaknesses such as having to access computer settings to wind windscreen up and down. This is a hugely expensive buy so be more critical, constructively so.
Someone needs to ask the question, are scooters actually safer than a motorcycle? In the event of an accident, is it safer to have your feet tucked up the foot boards of a scooter? It seems to me that it would. I mean in the event of a lowside slide, I think your feet would be a lot less likely to get tangled up in your wheels. Statistically feet and lower leg injuries are some of the most common in motorcycle accidents.
Yes I am sure there are positives and negatives for both sorts of bikes. Overall I guess scooters are probably a bit safer, like you explained. Would be interesting to see some research on the matter 👍
Garmin cost £33.99 per annum. Virtually identical ux/ui to Zumo I already had which doesn't require a subscription but I like the integration on the scooter.
Hi Stuart, thanks yes that would have been crazy if it was per month haha 🥴 It would be nice if it was included in the cost of the scooter, as it is quite expensive any way! However I would still probably have it. Cheers
@@redangrevival agreed. Another costs annoyance on such an expensive bike is that you receive only one full "keyless" key and will need to pay £130 or so to buy and have configured a second key.
Yes that is crazy as well! Bikes are already expensive enough and to not get a spare key! Some one need to take a look at that.
I'm currently on a learner license and got a 2007 tmax 500 with 51,000 miles, it's a decent bike but I'm 5 foot 8 with shorter legs and on my tippy toes, I can't flat foot it and it's quite heavy really but it gave me good riding experience but for me a real pain in the ass in really slow traffic or stopped in traffic because of the wide saddle it makes being able to flat foot for me impossible.
I recently got to ride an instructors CBF600 and found it much better to ride, better suspension and way better handling, I loved changing gears too but it felt so much better on the road.
Anyway, I would never pay for a new Tmax or even one a couple of years, I think there are far better bikes out there mostly manual.
Maintenance costs are higher on the Tmax due to the nature of the CVT auto transmission, if anyone was really wanting an auto or feel the must have a "scooter" then the Honda NC750x has the option of automatic dual clutch transmission which is maintenance free and doesn't need the belt and rollers changed every 20,000 miles or less. The NC750x is a lot more powerful and a lot more economical too.
The Tmax in my opinion is grossly over priced.
It really depends on what you are after. I agree a manual bike is much more fun to ride. However if you are looking for the practicality of a scooter, then the Tmax is great
@@redangrevival Well to be honest, yeah, I do like my tmax 500 and I'm just back from a 1 hr 30 min ride, it's a good touring bike but practical wise I think the likes of the NC750x manual or DCT would be more practical with a top box and even the 2 side boxes and it would be a lot cheaper too and much better on fuel.
The NC750x would be a lot easier to do D.I.Y maintenance too as you wouldn't have to remove so much plastic.
The big difference between the CN750x and the new Tmax being is all of the tech but to be honest I don't care about the tech and absolutely hate digital screens and the price tag simply wouldn't be worth it on top of the extra maintenance but I really think the NC750x is a better bike and it is more comfortable too, I didn't ride it but sat on one and it felt a lot more comfortable, maybe it's that really wide seat on the tmax.
I probably wouldn't buy the NC750x either because I prefer analogue dials and more classic bikes.
I'd love to have this but a lot of money. I got a aprilia srv 850 tuned up is nice.
Much prefer twist and go.
Did have a aprilia tuono v4 1100. Sold that for the srv
They are great pieces of kit, very impressive to ride and so practical 👍 Haha the Tuono is a difference kettle of fish all together!
Would you recommend this for someone who is 6ft 3
Yes, plenty of room to be comfortable and move around for a larger rider 👍
I want one, and would have one as a second bike but for the price. 👍😃
Hi Scott, yes I completely agree! I would have one as well but that is the sort of budget I spend on my main motorbike.
Handbrake 'levver'!!! The word is 'leever', like when you have 'feeeeever' (or do you have a 'fevver'?) Good review! Lovely, but expensive, bike/scooter.
I found this as I knew you had reviews it and I heard on the grape vine that this tft is going on the new tracer 9gt so wanted see it
👍 Hoped liked the video. Ah that is interesting, nice one. Looking forward to the Tracer update. Cheers
Great review Angus.. looks the job.. I’d really like something like that .. never will but it looks relaxing to ride.. 😎
Thanks Adrian 👍 Yup it really is impressive for a scooter! Same I won't be getting one any time soon, but I wouldn't turn one down 😁 Just so comfortable and easy to ride, it really is good fun. Amazing wind protection and all the storage you ever need.
On top of that it handles excellently!
Look at it's little brother next, the Xmax.
Even bigger storage
👌 Thanks thats a great idea. Blimey more storage!! haha they are so practical these scooters!
Still freaks me out when I see ya riding on what we here know here as the wrong side of the road with oncoming traffic, then I remember your in England!! Hahahaha
😂 thanks for the concern!
Can you please check out Yamaha xmax tech max 125 model 2022 please
Hi, I will try my best to schedule it in for a test ride 👍 Cheers
Which is best bmw C 400 GT or yamaha t max tech max ..?
Plz ans..
Sorry to say that I have not ridden the BMW! However I think performance wise the Yamaha would win. Its very impressive for a scooter 👍
@@redangrevival s I'm asking abt performance, outlook, feature wise
Which is bst..?
@@kavanab.c5236 Again sorry but I have not ridden the BMW! So cannot give you an accurate answer!
Should find a better nicer location for the mirrors.
They are practical but hard to reach when moving!
America, evidently has a single cylinder version, but I believe there is a reason for this scooter. Its mostly for young people who wish to save money on gas and have fun. But the reason for the extra power is the customer will find themselves in real world situations and they can't get around a car or up a hill. A standard scooter is understood and by its price to have limitations. This scooter is a motorcycle for less aggressive personalities and has the storage for lifestyle. You can go farther with enough power and not be some ADV bike, keeping the weight down. The screen is the obvious reason its for young people as it does make for an inviting quality to the bike. The price isn't bad.
It is a very practical and surprisingly fun ride, I think you hit the nail on the head. Great for young, but I also think good for older generation as well, nice easy and practical ride with great weather protection 👍
@@redangrevival Yeah, maybe calling it the mirrorless camera for the iPhone generation.
Cool review. As a scooter, no point. Happy with my X Max 300 Tech Max 2022
👌 Thanks I appreciate it and glad you liked the review! To be honest considering the price of the 560cc I would also have the 300. Just better value for money in my opinion.
@@redangrevival well it's better value in every sense, except acceleration and raw speed. Fuel consumption almost 2 times lower, better manouveravility, bigger storage space (2 full helmets can fit plus additional stuff and all that without back-case), registration costs two times less...
@@JohnnyBg2905 Sounds like a bargain to me!
I also have the xmax 300 2022 and recently test rode the 'silly money' tmax... All I can say is - I shouldn't have. Lol everything on my xmax feels £6k and everything on the tmax felt twice as expensive. It's a brilliant machine and surprisingly good in filtering through heavy London traffic (where I intentionally took it on a test ride). Now I'm trying to work out where to get the money for the upgrade haha
How much is that in dollars
What's the phone baggy thing?
Its actually meant for bicycles! I got it from a shop called Halfords in the UK
Hi more videos please on the 2023 ak 550,.
Hi, 👍 I will put a ride and review in my schedule! Will be a very interesting comparison. Cheers
Plan to get myself an affordable maxi in a year or two when i get a license, how much extra luggage can you put on these fat scoots? Wanna use it as a car substitute bc i hate driving those so up to 1000km trips among other things will happen. Can 3 boxes fit?
I believe you can spec side panniers and a top box yes. Also great luggage capacity under the seat. They really are very practical scooters. 👍
Ahhhhhh...Lol
Good to see your having a good time!
Well I like it, it's really not far off being a motorbike.. lovely colours.. good to see these bike companies experimenting with colours... in fact Triumph has some stunning colours on their new bikes.
Angus merging into man and machine..actually that's not to far off!
Great video!
Cheers Angus
😁😁 Thanks so much, I did have a great time making this video! Really enjoyed it, things seem to be going well mentally atm 👌
Yes I have seen the new colours and love them, I think it's a great move from Triumph. Spices the range up a bit. I quite like the bright orange they do!!

I think I already ride the best scooter for deliveries. Honda SH125i. The floor space is really useful when delivering.
Some places I deliver to are pretty much dirt tracks, the 16 inch wheels really help.
130 MPG. Can't imagine doing deliveries on that Yamaha that seems to be for longer journeys would be hard work.
👍 Would love to give the Honda ago. I think this Yamaha is definitely meant for longer journeys in more comfort etc...
I’d like to know what a Indian super chief compares to a speed master
👍 Same!! I am desperately trying to get hold of a demo bike. Think it would be a very interesting comparison. I will keep on working on it. Cheers
Nah
I wouldn't say its a strange thing about a akrapovic exhaust
It will make it so much better!! Along with
Malossi variatior rollers belt clutch
Will be so quick.
I love twist and go
I sold my aprilia tuono v4 1100. For a aprilia srv 850, but I've had to tuned and all race parts.
Gears ⚙ are like yesterday's news
You don't see F1 sports cars changing gears
I want something that goes like a rocket 🚀
In seconds
Each to their own I suppose, if acceleration is your thing then gears just get in the way! Have you tried Honda's DCT?
@@redangrevival
I have ive had 2 xadv
But bad wind protection
And a bit of a pain get on it
Quite big
Considering upgrading from my XMAX 300 as I'm doing more freeway riding, here in Aus and woulds like a little more power.
Can you advise what phone mount you are using on this one? Struggling to find something for a Galaxy Fold and the one on the video looks ideal.
It is a well worth while upgrade. Yes its actually a bag meant for bicycles! Bought it in a shop called Halfords
@@redangrevival Thanks - I'm originally from the UK - I know Halfords 🙂
Great review but this really isn’t helping! I’ve yet to hear anything bad about these (ok the price is lumpy). It’s easy to look at the engine size and make a comparison to the equivalent bike but there really isn’t one. It’s astonishing that Honda failed to come close on the 750 Forza in terms of spec. Sure on engine capacity but cruise control, heated grips/seat and adjustable screen are all missing. Even the 350 Forza has an electric screen. An old friend of mine and biker of old has had a TMax of the day in the garage for over 20 years. It’s his go-to machine. In context he’s waiting for a Ducati Multistada Pikes Peak (a mere £25k) to see if it will rekindle his interest in bikes. High praise. I want to try one but don’t at the same time. One of these or my Africa Twin day to day? That is the question.
There are definite negatives! Just depends what you are comparing it to. The build quality could be better for the price point, I would personally like a larger engine, and I am not a fan of the looks. But this is all easily said, at the end of the day it is a scooter 👍
It is very impressive for a scooter, does everything you need really, apart from off road riding. Haha if the pikes peak cannot rekindle his interest in bikes I don't know what will. I would say it entirely depends on where you ride everyday?
For riding pleasure I would take the AT everyday, but if you are in a town\city 100% have the Tmax.
@@redangrevival It’s very much needs over wants and head over heart. If I had both which would be used more. My mix is town/ A roads /B roads/ M25. Both have their strong points. The AT is quite heavy and the DCT can be clunky vs the smoothness of a CVT. The Honda is the more capable long distance machine for sure and in reality wouldn’t give way to the TMax.
👌 I would stick with the AT!!
Anything bad? I had a Multistrada 1200s and over the 50k miles in 4 years I had problem with the bluetooth. Had few other small issues too but all because of my high mileage. Now I have this tmax and I have problem with the bluetooth again. Only have it 4 weeks ago and so far it is ok for my 10 minutes commute but I think once you had a proper bike, this one is very boring. Sometimes can’t open the seat, can’t take phone calls but can play music perfectly. Fuel gauge all around the place under half tank and steering/ central stand lock not always clicks on so have to press the button few times as well with the seat issue. Garmin cost £3 or £4 monthly but to be able to use it you need 2 app to your phone and had to start them before the bike to be able to use it wirelessly. I have a top box on it too and the lock is a very poor construction (at least on mine). You only have to turn the key a little to open it and if you turn it slightly more then the release pops out so no way to lock it with 1 hand and I always have to check if it is on the rack. As I said, I only have it 4 weeks ago and only have 400 miles in it so hopefully few things will be sorted at the first service. Would I buy it again? Yes. Can’t find anything better with this many gadget and enough power what I can ride without proper gears on even in the rain.
@@csokelaszlo78 That’s a lot of issues for a premium scooter with a very premium price. The key aspect for me was the automatic gearbox which is why I went for the ATAS DCT. I toyed with the idea of a scooter but the seating position isn’t something my back likes for very long. They do look like fun though.
mans got beef with pizza delivery riders 😂😂
Only if they’re late!
It's not worth the money. It's absolutely amazing, but overpriced. That's why the dealers have them collecting dust. Save 10 grand, buy the 300. Larger storage, just as quick, better on fuel, smaller, lighter, less complex, cheaper repairs. Unless money is not an issue for you, don't by this, it's a total waste of money. You're in car money, nowhere near motorbike money for some extra features. It's really bad value, like really really really bad value.
I tend to agree, if you really need a scooter then the 300 is the one to go for! If you want power, then get a motorcycle 👍
XMax is also nice. But Tmax is more fun.
Too bad this is not coming to the U.S. I love to have one. I may have to go to Japan to get me one.
That is a shame, it is an incredible scooter! Maybe worth the trip overseas 😉
For that price even I can get MT10,,,,so tricky :DX
I really like this new Tmax but not fully convinced to switch from 2011 Burgman 650 executive. My burgman tops out at 114mph, daily commute at average 85mph. But I want something new.
Hard to say as I have never ridden the Burgman 650! I imagine the Tmax won't be much of a step down in performance. Just a slightly different ride 👍
You need to do a fair review of the Kymco AK550 before you can claim the TMAX is the best scooter in the world.
Yes this a good point, I shall try and get a ride on one!
Better than the x-adv?🤔
It's a tricky one to tell. The TMAX is a genuine scooter where as the X-ADV is more of a motorcycle. The X-ADV is a better more grown up riding experience, and better quality parts etc...
But as a practical easy to use scooter, I think the TMAX takes the win! 👍
28.000 euros in Denmark. Ouch.
Yes that is a bit steep!
It's a nice scooter, BUT the AK550 sounds better. Don't buy a TMAX without trying an AK550 is all I'm saying.
👍 Yes this is fair enough and always best to try the co petition before buying.
I think that this cost more, alot more, then any other motorcycle with same cc. No sir, i'm not so self indulgent
Fair enough, it is very expensive for it engine capacity, especially for a scooter! I didn't think of that, you maybe right. It probably is the most expensive bike for its cc!
Honda rebel 1100 any day of the week over this .
I suppose they are two very different bikes! But yes I would also go for the Rebel 👍
i would go for a dishwasher over the rebel
I hope yamaha make it 700cc.
Angus, take a breath. You are putting out a video, on average, every 2 days. I fear you are either going to run out bikes to review or just burn out.
Hi, thanks for the concern and words of advice 👍 I do appreciate that. I know it is a lot of content going out 🥵
I am planning on cutting back to 2 videos a week in the near future. You are right I will struggle to carry on doing 3 a week for much longer. I am in it for the long run. It's a marathon not a sprint! Cheers
We get nothing good in North America......
I think Yamaha need to change this! Missing out on a big market
Yamaha spends zero money in advertising in America and wonders why it doesn't sell. It's actually perfect for America. But you don't attempt to sell it here. Isn't that sad? You sell it secretly or some dumb crap. Haven't seen a Yamaha commercial in 20+ years.
Not too sure why they do that! A huge market to miss out on
Brits.... Keep telling us how fun it is cause Yamaha doesn't care.
Yamaha is foolish not thinking Americans would buy this, we are gluttons for anything supersize lol
Haha yup they are seriously missing out!
instead of this i will buy africa twin for 15 grand brand new
Good plan 👍
You got blown off by a minivan
NO COMPAIRSON TO THE X-ADV.
Ridigilously expensive. Not so economical...
It is crazy expensive yes! I think the lower cc models are better value for money.
nope
Twist and go is such a lame cliche
I know. Is true though!
Best fu#$ING price too
It is definitely a pricey one!!
i think honda forza 750 is better scooter
If you need to save money, yes. Other, no
Tmax the best scooter?😂😂
Having recently ridden the Honda Forza, I now think the Honda is!
0:50 - Nope, you're wrong. It's the Honda Forza 750.
that pizza jab isn't funny and you made it twice. don't be a Hack.
Its just stoooo boring and way too expensive though! (I have the NMax and had an XMax for years, but now own a 2T smoker NSR150SP)😂
