The role of the prophet beginning with Abraham, is:
1. Intercessor
2. Calling people to repentance
3. Receiving the supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit. During the Dispensation of the law, wherein God dealt with Israel specifically as a nation, and in the Dispensation of the Patriarchs, all the supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit enumerated by Paul were in operation except for tongues, and the interpretation of tongues.
The phenomenon of prophecy is when the word of God, uninitiated by the person, commands a person's vocal chords to say what God wants to convey. An audible or verbal word concerning the will of God or realities of people's lives can be given to the prophet to be written down and conveyed, or God may choose to give the audible Word of Wisdom and Word of Knowledge on the spot. Exhortation is different than prophecy. Of course exhortation, like preaching, can be anointed by God.
The Discerning of Spirits is when our five senses are opened by God to receive impressions in the world of Spirits. Typically seeing into the Spirit World and hearing in the realm of spirits is in operation with the gift of the discerning of spirits, however, contact can be made in the Spirit World, there are fragrances and odors, and we can taste in the Spirit. John said he ate the scroll the angel handed him, and it was sweet in his mouth and bitter in his belly.

@@omondiratego833 the Bible... there is only one and yes I know Koine Greek so ANY basic translation will do...God NEVER commands a persons vocal chords... even that verse, Jesus is VERY CLEAR what is being spoken is being spoken by the speaker, NOT God commanding a person's vocal chords

The Gift of Discernment manifested for me when satan had set up a senecio to kill, steal, and destroy something in my life. It was a pretty serious situation. The Holy Spirit gave me a Word of Knowledge, then I heard with my spiritual ears, the devil counter respond to what the Holy Spirit had said, with a ‘Yes, but ....’, to shed doubt, second guess what the Holy Spirit had just stated. The devil uses distraction (to get ones focus off his intended purpose), deception, hinderances, snd blockages. he also uses witchcraft to intercept your will, (which is in the soulish realm) to break off temporarily, ones desire for God. Fighting the devil in the spiritual realm is the only way to successfully defeat him. Having the infilling of the Holy Spirit, and giving Him utterance through you, (the Baptism of the Holy Spirit) is vital in helping Him guide you. Blessings to all who read this. Amen!

No sir, this is incorrect. You obviously haven't read Eph 3:5 and 4:11. The office of the Prophet is very much in use today.

Amen this man is not taught by Holy Spirit (1 John 2:26-27) no anointing on this man at all. That’s why he didn’t touch on Ephesians 4:11. God’s word doesn’t contradict itself. I have been called by God to the office of a prophet and have the gift of discerning of spirits.

It sounds as though you didn't get past the "introduction" - judging by your comments. Perhaps you should go through the whole thing before you make a "snap judgment"??
