- Can I continue surviving 200 days against endless raids and prepare my kids to destroy the first settlement? Following my success in destroying every faction in Rimworld, I'm now pushing myself to the limit in this multiple-part series. Playing on Rimworld 1.4 with the Royalty, Ideology, and Biotech DLC enabled, watch as I utilize my skills and strategic thinking to survive the toughest challenges yet. Couple of years ago, I rented a 1 bedroom appartment. In the bathroom there was a dead mouse that had been painted over and entombed under the sink

How many Thrumbos can one colony get? I get random events but dang that's a decent number of Thrumbo herds wandering into a death trap.

You may want to consider adding in the VFE bases mod. The normal bases always feel a bit meh and no challenge. This improves it a bit.
Also, for just simple meals on normal soil, you use 20-25 plots per pawn. Scale that up double for fine or more for Lavish.
Also, whilst rice grows fastest, it is not really the most efficient. Half corn and half rice until you can move over and subsidise with meat until then.corn produces way more food per square.
Most of my runs like insect meat, and I make insect farms. You can literally use insect meat kibble as ghetto packed survival meals then.

How do you make insect farms? i thought insect's wasn't possible to tame / breed?
@Riddick_DK Ah, as in, I make a large dark area with lots of cross corridors in it and put some built items and walls in it. It attracts insect spawns, which you then 'farm' by killing them, but not the hives.
You can now also farm insects by placing toxic waste packs too, but I prefer the first version. After the first insect spawn, you have insect meat and jelly for the rest of the game.
With mods, you can actually have insect farms, but that was not what I meant.

Though, I do wonder, if hydroponics would help with his food issue during the winter,
no hydroponics this playthrough. I'm in a warm region
Mixing with less work intensive crops would do the trick. Rice is great but very work intensive. If you're short on hand that is a problem. So grow some corn since it's a year round growing biome. Some potatoes/berries for shorter term.
Foot print will be roughly the same but you can grow more/use your pawn for something else with the same amount of work.
It also helps to prevent everything from being harvested at the same time. So you don't have half of the growing zone with no crop while you are harvesting the other half.

Gotta say, the militors are a LOT more useful than I expected. It was basically a repeat of the earlier raid only with less centipedes and barely anyone got injured and the enemy mechs got SHREDDED

The purple and off-white checkered tiles gave me hardcore Dragon Warrior Monsters 2, one of the best games ever made
If you have such a large rice plantation you are better off switching to corn. Takes longer to grow but its less labour intensive per yield, and yields double. Plus it keeps for longer without refrigeration (wont spoil in heatwaves or solar flares)
40:00 : probably too late but you can use an open door. So you can close it if need be, that will save some time for the grenade to get out or to even reset the aggro.
The room with the anima tree is so bright in the night time wow!

I see in alot of your videos you make these type of killboxes, I ask have you ever tried out any of the mods that alter enemy ai to be smarter and avoid killboxes and traps? It changes a lot and makes the game much more fun/challenging I think

@@andrewyates4037 ive tried careful raids and all raids can breach but there are more mods that alter enemy ai
could be fun but sappers, breachers and drop pod raids avoid killboxes already so could make it hard

Realy extrem nice Content. - thanks to your Vids I finaly made it and bought Rimworld few Weeks ago - and best Game since Years. Now I regret i haven´t done this earlier.
Only one question - I found out that this Metabolism thing / Hunger rate is pretty bad. They eat even more then someone with Gut Worms - burnin your Food Stock in no time, so I started to .... ... ahm Invite random hikers with bad genes to ... ... ah come on we all know what happend. I needed those bad genes to equalize the many good ones. But yeah that helped me a lot. You Guys do the same thing or have different approches ?
