    Niiccceeee......
Love the 'Whip' sound of the blade at the end. Great job mate. I've got 2 that need rehandling. Just don't have the time.

Thanks. If you ever get around to it be careful. You might get bitten by the bug. Then you will have a new hobby. That's what happened to me.

Thanks. I am a bit disappointed with the change in shape. I did another knife and the epoxy filled up the gap without looking bad. So i wish i had done that. Luckily the owner is happy with it still.

great job! I recently bought one by Ontario, but I really don't like the handle it came with. The handle is made of hard plastic, and while the blade itself would be great to use with two hands, the handle is one handed only. so my question is, which direction should I expand the handle I'll be making? I was thinking towards the blade since there's 10cm of "excess" blade completely unsharpened, but I'm looking for advice.

I have a similar situation. I have a 26" Tramontina machete. It is not very comfortable to use with one hand. In addition, the blade itself is prone to bending when swinging and striking. I am planning to replace the plastic handle on this machete and lengthen it by using some of the blade material and drilling an extra hole. Also, to reduce the tendency to bend, I plan to create several parallel grooves on the blade. I'm going to use a special tool for this. 3 or more cutting discs mounted on a shaft and separated by washers.

What was in the jar you dipped the handle in at the end?

It looks great, but why not trying to make a "coke bottle" shaped handle ?

Mainly because i like the rounded feel on machetes. I am thinking of doing it on a machete next time i make one just to try it. Or maybe on a big bowie knife that should be coming in the next couple of months.

ScottsHobbyz if it's well done, it makes a really comfortable handle and also quite grippy
