Just tried this place for the first time, and I couldn't help but laugh at Ozma. First time my group did fought it, we were setting up before pulling... and I jumped a gap like an idiot, and feel to my death before the entire raid was even there. To make matters worse, someone in the raid chat was explaining at that exact moment what we need to do for the fight, and had just said, "Now be extra careful to not fall off the edge." "...Like that guy just did."
Actually just walked off the edge today and someone as a joke typed "reminder that you can walk off the edge" which was automatically followed up by another person that was also a dragoon taking right off haha
Commented on Part One, but just wanted to again say a big "THANK YOU" for making this guide! My first time there only had one wipe in the entire run, at at least 2-3 of us were new.
A general comment: You should include pauses between each set of the mechanic descriptions. The guides are great, but the component parts run together and I find that don't have time to absorb one before heading straight into the next. Pauses (possibly with visual separators) would add a great deal of usability and if you additionally index the videos, it would allow users to directly chose parts of the fight they're having trouble with.
Just wanted to comment about the blue orbs during the square phase of Ozma: It appears that the damage it does is based on max HP. We had an easy time healing this by having the healers eat the orbs because they only got hit for 6-8K instead of the tank getting hit for 13-16K. Also, Selene is so OP for dispelling the bleeds ^_^'
Yup. At the four second mark I turn around and it works fine. Acceleration Bomb basically sees if you're doing something on it's final tick before choosing to do damage or not.
Yeah, I ain't going anywhere near this until maybe patch 3.5 (or the expansion) when it's insignificant. Like how I did with most Raids. I played Void Ark the other day and it was a breeze. I bet i would've been wiping like crazy had I tried to do it when it first released. But then again, I'm just a casual. I just play the main scenario and whatever else the game forces me to play (I am so sick of Sohm Khai!)
As someone just now getting past hw for the first time coming back to the game for endwalker, I feel you... It's much much easier later when more people will know the mechanics and be ovegeared, but the storyline, cutscenes, cool armor for glams, minions, music and overall experience will always be worth it.
My advice is go on a Tuesday after reset when the good people do it again. Seemed to help considerably from Wiping 4 times on Ozma and giving up to only wiping once and getting my first clear
This looks simultaneously fun and terrifying, but tbh as a healer main I'm always antsy about queuing up for something like this as a newbie. I am far from being a hardcore player, but this does look fun...
I’m the same! As a newbie healer I get a little anxious when going into a raid I don’t know. Because I don’t know the mechanics. And if I die it puts my party in a tough spot. It’s a lot of pressure. I’m glad these videos help.
This was my first time to return to this dungeon in quite some time, since my first run in the Siren server. And my team did rather quite well. Albeit that this and the Dun Scaith Raid almost did a complete wipe of my team.
Ozma is a wipe if any alliance fails and it takes one person to kill the whole party. Hair lady is deadly but it doesn't matter if 90% of the party is dead.
I agree. The last boss is easier because it doesn't matter if everyone except a tank, a healer and a dps survives. In fact, my first clear that happened. Was only six of us standing by the end.
There's actually a video of someone who Solo tanked it as a WAR from 14% and killed the final boss by himself. I'm willing to bet if they had the time, they could have even solo'd the fight from 100% if they wanted lol But you should check it out, it's actually pretty cool to watch: /watch?v=uU0wPtYSWOM&list=LLCPLcGoObG-eyIdCmbX4toA&index=3
I quit playing in 3.2 but this place looks great. I don't envy dealing with people who refuse to learn mechanics though - I hated running Void Ark because of mediocre play and that raid was easy as shit. Can't imagine what it's like on something more challenging.
You forgot where to place the dam meteors. Geez people cant handle positionning when it comes to the 6 meteors... (I spammed so many times "put them at the back and left in each side" and didnt get hear...)
This boss is also in the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion, as one of the Angels (so casting Holy makes sense), and is fully realized basically exactly how it’s portrayed here, in the Evangelion reboot series.
No recording, but I've seen it happen. The alliance that was on the pad for my atomos died before we could kill it, so we were kinda stuck. It's not very interesting.
Not really. I didnt had problems with Ozma after we figured the mechanics on day one, but I do have problems with some EX fights (Niddhogg and Seph for exemple). Never tried anything Savage tho
It mainly separates the players that understand how something works seeing it the first time, vs wiping 20 times until they "get it". Like, JFC, people still don't understand that the giant AOE arrow means stack to mitigate? This is the 7th boss to use it! (Thordan, Echidna, Brute Justice, Sephirot, Nidhogg, Arachne Eve, and now Ozma). How do people even log into the game if they can't remember one universal mechanic?
Then I'm glad I get to see the exceptions still exist every now and then. Still wouldn't know much though since I only raid with my FC. I'm mostly bitchin and complaining about the past in the Coils when I didn't have such an awesome FC.
Anyone know how she have her icons so big? Right up under the party list? I'd like to do that with some of mine They almost look like Weak aura's from wow.
(i know im late, but...) its not a pyramid. if we want to get technical, its a tetrahedron, since each side of it is a triangle, as to where a pyramid has a square base.
Came back from a break and did some of the new content. Still bore the hell out of me. This raid wasn't so bad but the amount of lil girls complaining is hilarious. Funny how some people define themselves by playing Simon Says.
lmao sexist piece of shit. they're complaining, so they must be "little girls"? funny because of all the whiny manbabies all over the internet, you included
wow now I know why its called Wipe city

Oh no, being set as a bad example is my worst nightmare in those raids, hahah
Hahaha, you just showed them how not to do it! :D Team player!
Don't be that guy.
Actually just walked off the edge today and someone as a joke typed "reminder that you can walk off the edge"

When I saw Ozma I went total fanboy. One of my favorite bosses in FF9!
Commented on Part One, but just wanted to again say a big "THANK YOU" for making this guide!
My first time there only had one wipe in the entire run, at at least 2-3 of us were new.
Thank you so much I been waiting for a guide even though I got a clear on the first day your guide is 100% better than other guides I seen so far!
A general comment: You should include pauses between each set of the mechanic descriptions. uuuhhhhhh see u in a year when i finally remember every mechanic
Right?! It’s crazy. Not looking forward to this
I think it's important to note that Ozma's Acceleration Bomb triggers on ANY action, even auto-attacks. So if you're melee, just turn away!
Yup. At the four second mark I turn around and it works fine. Acceleration Bomb basically sees if you're doing something on it's final tick before choosing to do damage or not.
Dont even need to turn around. Just tap Z to sheathe your weapon.
The small bijou's have a shorter cast time - kill them before the great bijous

LoL. Yea those expert dungeons are getting tedious. What server are you on? I'm a casual too. Wanting to do more end-game content though.
So, are you going to do this raid now?
As someone just now getting past hw for the first time coming back to the game for endwalker, I feel you... Thanks to your excellent intel, I was able to pass this entire mess of a fight without a single KO.
For last boss, main tank can rotate Calofisteri so the haircut aoe is away from the group. Makes it way easier for everyone :)
This looks simultaneously fun and terrifying, but tbh as a healer main I'm always antsy about queuing up for something like this as a newbie. I am far from being a hardcore player, but this does look fun...

After seeing Ozma and its animations I get the feeling someone working on FFXIV saw Evangelion 1.11 :)
This was my first time to return to this dungeon in quite some time, since my first run in the Siren server. And my team did rather quite well. Albeit that this and the Dun Scaith Raid almost did a complete wipe of my team.

I killed everyone at ozma because I went right instead of left :3
Hey, me too!!
i went through this three times to clear it... the first two we ran out of time because no one pays attention to the ozma mechanics lol
I was told to ASAP kill the SMALL BIJOU'S.
Not sure if this mattered. I think because the smaller ones recharges faster.
We gonna talk about "Harry Thesticle" or no?
What about him?
What a mess of a rade lol. Thank you forn the video! So usefull like always!
raid*
Oh, so the last boss is basically Sunny's Gourmet Demon from Toriko, neat.
I quit playing in 3.2 but this place looks great. I don't envy dealing with people who refuse to learn mechanics though - I hated running Void Ark because of mediocre play and that raid was easy as shit. Can't imagine what it's like on something more challenging.
finally got this again in the alliance raid roulette and I swear they've gotten rid of the ozma orbs at 2:45 :( oh how the times have changed
Tank Main and no one gave me a heads upon the cube form. Probably because I'm always paired with asswhipes.
like a mhac truck.. *slow clap*
and atomos, you feel like giving up..
Ozma still gives me trouble and my allaince usually falls off lol . Cause they dont understand the cube form .
Ty woman. these are sooo helpful! Also your puns are best!
You forgot where to place the dam meteors. Geez people cant handle positionning when it comes to the 6 meteors... (I spammed so many times "put them at the back and left in each side" and didnt get hear...)
so do I cut the yellow wire or...?

I immediately thought of exactly this when I saw Ozma.
Do you know anyone who has recorded the Doomsday counter hitting zero, just for funsies?
No recording, but I've seen it happen. The alliance that was on the pad for my atomos died before we could kill it, so we were kinda stuck. It's not very interesting.
This sounds hard. I am scared to run it 😢
Go in as dps and get a feel. It's a tough one but each time you'll get better!
so many dead people in this Video :'D
Void ark was a joke. This looks like a challenge.
MzTeq do you still play? ^^ I am new player
Ozma separates the Ex and Savage players from the casuals.
Not really. I didnt had problems with Ozma after we figured the mechanics on day one, but I do have problems with some EX fights (Niddhogg and Seph for exemple). Never tried anything Savage tho

Eh.. I'm as casual as they come ( Haven't even tried to beat Ravana Ex yet) and thought Ozma was tons of fun and not hard at all.
You had a good group with common sense then. I equate ex and savage runners with people who have common sense and are willing to work with others.
Then I'm glad I get to see the exceptions still exist every now and then. Still wouldn't know much though since I only raid with my FC. I'm mostly bitchin and complaining about the past in the Coils when I didn't have such an awesome FC.

Under "Hud Layout" you can select your hotbar and increase or decrease their size by hitting ctrl + home, keys.
+solu9 thank you
I love your guides, but triangle!? That's a pyramid! Triangles are only two dimensional :)
Also I think she said square instead of cube. Lol.
Does it really matter if you knew what she meant? jeez...
(i know im late, but...) its not a pyramid. if we want to get technical, its a tetrahedron, since each side of it is a triangle, as to where a pyramid has a square base.
