Would love to try these exercises but my right knee joint slipped and caused inflammation. I tried to walk over a folded futon pad on the floor and slipped on the padding causing my knee joint to move in opposite directions. I have to use a heating pad tomorrow to help with the stiffness. Sorry for the rant but my left hip and right knee are weak.
I wonder if rib flare is an issue when you don't rotate the arms externally. Here (in your last bridge) it looks you are rotating internally so much of the flexion is coming from the shoulder-scapula. But the upper back seems flat. I have heard you can't bend the upper back properly with rib flare (thorax out and without contracting abs) and internal rotation of arms (your elbows to the side). Please let me know what you think but she seems to externally rotate and have no rib flare. Other than obviously as you say she is extremely flexible
i've been working on my bridge using your recommendations. i tried elevating my feet, but had to come out immediately as i got unbelievable cramps in both of my hamstrings. i'm tight as a drum, but i'm slowly beginning to loosen up. another thing i've been doing is rolling back into the bridge atop a large exercise ball. that allows me to stay in position for more time than i can without that assistance. i'm old (67), but i have exercised very consistently my entire life, so i'm not too worried about injuring myself as long as i don't try to rush my progress.
@@Strengthside i also get cramps (sometimes) in the arch of my foot doing the quad stretch against the wall. it's encouraging to hear they ease up the more you do them...
One of the people I've met in my travels still has and has had a fairly successful yoga school for decades. I asked him about his experience and he told me that he and his wife started off being the worst in the class by a long way, by far the stiffest. Part of what made his school so successful was his direct personal understanding of how to go from being very stiff to being quite good at yoga as that along that journey he learned the keys that he could pass along to others. When I first saw some of your stuff, I thought you were one of those who'd never known what it was like to be truly locked up and tight, but nope. Similar path. It's not always the case, but many times those who truly struggle to achieve success in any area become some of the best teachers as they are fully aware of hard it can be to get there, and that innate understanding helps them to help others. Can't get through to everyone obviously, but in the various things I've taught over the years when conveying the information/method I take from the things I struggled to learn rather than the things I had a natural aptitude for, even when I've been teaching things that many said I had a natural talent for and/or was gifted in that area. Teaching people of your failures, mistakes, hardships, and the path out of them is one of the most valuable and underrated methodologies out there. All about getting that ego out of the way and bringing forth whatever potential may be there and helping it grow. In good areas of course!
My yoga teacher had similar story. He wasn't even able to sit on a floor with his legs straight. He had to use 4 blankets (similar to me, I was using blankets and still suffering). He was very chill about being stiff and always helped finding some way to make practice easier to slowly build up mobility. 😊
Love it, I think I'm going to start working on bridges. I need the shoulder flexibility/mobility and lacking the strength there too so win win! Love how your girl just drops into the perfect bridge like it's nothing just to show you up lol
Thank u At 62 my back has locked up when there was a time when I did these in a regular I am now using your motivational Progression and encouragement to retrieve my former glory 💪🏽
I was trying this for weeks now during my training. Elevating just showed me immediately that my forearms are waay to tight. Rest is kinda fine. Thx, now i know where to work next
Interesting progression, I didn't get far when I was doing the convict conditioning moves. Will have to try this out. And who is the super bendy girl btw?
I was literally looking into how to backbend because I am thoroughly unimpressed with my spine flexibility lol, this was THE perfect video. I can't stress this enough. 😂🧘🏻♀️
After teaching boxing fitness classes & barely stretching for the past 20 yrs.. my shoulders are so tight I can barely get my hands overhead. Much less on the ground. Still trying to find stretch that helps for that
Great instruction as always! An unrelated question, if you don’t mind: what kind of dog is that? My daughter has one just like it but has been trying to identify the breed with no luck!
Off Topic, but curious minds want to know: What’s your secret for achieving and maintaining your lean builds?? (Or we’re you just born that way???) I’m sure a video answering this question would be super popular!
Maybe not quite as effective but I do mine in a doorway, just reach up to the top and lean forward into it. For me it's just more accessible although maybe not as good of a stretch for the right muscles, I'm not sure.
I am not a massive yogi but I have found a stretch called puppy pose which is great for opening up the chest and shoulders. It has helped me a lot. Give it a try👍
What do you think of these exercises? Willing to try any of these out? Let us know below 👇

Hi buddy I love your videos, i wanted to ask if you also stretch when you didn't do a warmup?

You could have made your girl the thumbnail and gotten 10 times more view, but you have class.
Or just be a super bendy girl 😂😂 so many times this has happened to me
I love that he added that at the end 😂
I mean I’m a contortionist, so I’m very Bendy
I think it has more to do with starting at 4 years old :)

Nice work mate, I'm a young-un (61). I can still do a stiff version, but most impressed that you're giving it a go at 67. Keep at it!
Nice work! I also sometimes get cramps in the hamstrings on the elevated back bridge. The more you do it... the more they ease up :)

Accept my deep and sincere admiration, I am really touch by your story....
And the word "old" is definitely not about you!!
I am right behind you....66

So true words of wisdom...
I had a feeling I have read the best chapter of a really great book!
Thank you for this brilliant piece of writing!...

I can visually but not their voices at all
He’s taller

I barely can, but just recently
I want both of them ✌️💗

I was trying this for weeks now during my training. Elevating just showed me immediately that my forearms are waay to tight. Rest is kinda fine.

Very helpful, thank you!
Cool it's a summary of your back bridge video I started doing some of this and it already helped me and I'm super stiff.
Interesting progression, I didn't get far when I was doing the convict conditioning moves. Will have to try this out. And who is the super bendy girl btw?

The dog✨💛🐕
Thank Youuy 🌈💖✨
If I tried this like Bendy Girl, my junk would fly across the room! Owww!
This inspires!!!
I’ve been starting with wall bridges to start introducing that position to my body. Less intense but still enough to stretch and annoy my hammies.
Lovely doggo!
After teaching boxing fitness classes & barely stretching for the past 20 yrs.. my shoulders are so tight I can barely get my hands overhead. Much less on the ground. Still trying to find stretch that helps for that
tank youuuu
Need to work my way to it 😊
Not the dog creating spider men upside down kiss scenes 💀💀💀
that felt amazing af and I could bridge again easily
Great instruction as always! An unrelated question, if you don’t mind: what kind of dog is that? My daughter has one just like it but has been trying to identify the breed with no luck!
That dog😂💛

Love your 4 legged friend
Are those lems you're wearing? Thanks for your rich content!

Loving that dog! He needs to appear more often 😂
Any advice for a guy with 3 Lumbar fusions, along w/ instrumentation? ( Titanium, rods, plates, screws) 67 and just want to stay active here! 😎
I use to be a super bendy girl, then got hit by a car and had a stroke, so now im back to your first picture. Thanks for the advice

A high fat low carb diet works for me, especially when I do intermittent fasting as well
My lower back hurts really bad when I try to extend. What do I do?
I liked the video for dog 🐕🐶
When I was younger I use to do this no problem and flip backwards out of it.
I am 29 bro all most turning 30 I just started this stretches. And boy they are hard work.
Whenever you wanna do a bridge , the dog attacks my mouth 😂😂🐶🐶
I'm 41 years old and physically stiff all throughout my teenage years till now, do I have hope?
Can this be used as a calisthenics substitute for deadlift for back hypertrophy?
Yeah my dog always thinks its play time when I get on the ground too
What shoes are you wearing?
Every movement how long do you hold on
With that back bridge ain’t no one tapping u in wrestling 😂😂
I DONE IT IN 1 DAY
Ok, I took my shirt off and put a beanie on. That is about 25% of it. Next step: get a dog and get a tattoo.
He’s baked in this
Him:Super stiff
me who can't even lie down straightly:🐸
Do you use creatine?
I used to do it from stand position, but now it's hard for me , I want to get it back
👏👏
Now I know the ghosts in movie are just trying to scretch
Positive mab
Josh you’re looking a little less ripped than in the past but the higher body fat/muscle level suits you bro, looking fuller💪🏽
The puppy baby was just trying to help dad☺️
Lit

That looks like a sweet dog.
hold on girl i think you’ve got something in your back pocket lol..
Question. If I can do the bridge do I still need to do crab stretches?
I prefer the last option
That sound was so flipping suspicious🤣🤣🤣🤣
How tall are you?
That's a Zoe 🐕 ❤
Ok, how do I get to super stiff first? 😬
Just do something 😂❤❤
Dogs and kids won't let you exercise... For real 🤣🤣🤣 that's been my excuse
number 2 against the wall is so good! i only ever knew about the way with the stick and hated it

@bryn This one is a great one. I call it the "doorway hang" It has good carry over to the back bridge!
