If you haven't, consider checking out the soundtrack of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. All 8 boss themes are absolute gold, but I'd say Stains of time, Red sun and The only thing I know for real are generally considered the best.
@@RagnaStar1337 it's a very short game, but it's still amazing. The soundtrack is iconic, all the boss themes are top tier, very memorable dialogue and cast, The gameplay is unique but really fun once you've mastered it. A mix of the MGS stealth and hack n slash action. Takes place after the events of MGS4, definitely worth playing through!
The song could've ended up much shorter, but the composer, Casey Edwards decided he wasn't satisfied enough because Vergil is a character who means a lot to him personally. So that's why the song is so long. The extended ending is meant to showcase how he truly feels about the character.
I know this was posted some months ago, but if you haven't played yet, you should know that the battle themes are made to progressively intensify because not only do you get the normal rating system of prior installations, but the music also increases by moving up to the next best/most complex segment of the whole track you hear on the OST. It's why we knew video game journalists were failures with DMC5, because almost all of them complained that the battle music was lame, which means they weren't getting over maybe a A rating at best.
I knew about this song for a while, I mean the part of the vocals where it goes "I am the storm that is approaching" was used in memes, it was hard to avoid it. But I have only recently gave this a listen, this is not even the music I gravitate towards but holy shit is this amazing. Inhave since heard this sing at least 50 times and watched about 10 reactions to it. It's safe to say that this song alone sold me on the series, I don't know anything about the games but I fully plan on playing through all of them, even DMC2, don't care it's a safe skip, I want to experience it all.
"this beat alone makesme wanna play this game" I played dmc as a kid only and honestly same. I'm gonna get so deep into dmc idk why I've been sleeping on this series
This song has just made a majority of lyrical themes I enjoy from games feel inferior, maybe it's just a new song so probably wont last for very long but the parts 7:34-7:38 had a feel that has surpassed other songs in terms of mood for me.
Well hopefully you got to the game by now! It's basically a love note to the fans of the the series and is one of the craziest hack-n-slash games around. This legendary song is a cherry to top it all off~
I know this review was a while ago, but I have another video game soundtrack song I highly recommend. Soulswap by Solitaris and holocene, from the game Othercide. It's got a standalone album and everything. The entire soundtrack is incredible, but the menu theme, that, is best.

Never thought about that game. Thats is i think 1 of the few metal gear games I have not played so that will be all new to me. Thanks
@@RagnaStar1337 It's the only one not focused around stealth, instead it plays a lot like DMC.
I need to check it out

Funny, this reminds me of MGR too. Did someone who worked on the music for MGR also work on DMC V?
I sang bury the light with my vocal coach, it was hardcore as fuck.
Honestly, the best song I heard in my life, so catchy, powerful.
Génial

Yes I have the game now and it's great. This games soundtrack is so amazing.
While not quite Devil's Never Cry levels of epic imo, it's right there by it.
Surprised that nobody suggested Devil Trigger which is also from this game.
Nobody has and I will have to check it out because I loved this one. Thanks
I'd recommend Devils Never Cry from DMC 3, it's a banger too
What's the meaning behind your T-shirt? "More than sound"?
Might be referring to music been more than just sound, is a feeling to make you happy/sad/motivate and to connect to people.
Its a shirt from facedown record. Every shirt sale all proceeds go to fighting child hunger.
