It got -25 wind chill here in north Arkansas for about 3 days. Unintentionally left in the pickup, my jar of Gun Butter was still very usable. It was a little tight because of the wax but with very little effort from rubbing with a patch creating friction, it was just fine.
Thanks for introducing this to us. If I'm comfortable going outside at any temp then I'm confident this product will be too.

There are different ways of doing things, my vote is to cut a dovetail and put a taller front sight on that pistol, and i just use lard, from the grocery store as a lubricant for black powder. The coldest it gets here in Deming, New Mexico is in the teens, but lard works. Summertime temps are over 100*, and lard still works. Crisco is horrible, whoever came up with that must have been desperate.

You mentioned the wind chill, miserable for people but zero effect on the gun butter. It will drop to 21 degrees at a RATE simmilar to if it was 4 degrees, but it won't get any colder the 21 ......

Nobody has made a Spiller and Burr replica in many years as far as I’m aware. Don’t think anyone plans on bringing them back either.
