An important note you missed. A tree is not blocked by a shadow if the tree casting the shadow is smaller then it. Otherwise good 3 minute summary of the rules.
No, the rulebook states, that case, the shadow blocks the larger tree's earned points commensurate with the size of the tree. If a large tree is block by a small tree then only 2 sun points are earned. If blocked by a medium tree, only 1 sun point is earned.
@@Leaky-bunghole There are definitely advanced rules for this game. Maybe you just have an earlier edition without them or something? Another advanced rule is playing a longer game with 4 sun rotations instead of 3. And yeah, these are official, not just some weird house rules that people made up.
I think a rule aspect is missing from this explanation.. when u upgrade your trees (from small to larger), the small trees are removed and replaced on your player board. To re-use those pulled trees u have to re-purchase them (for future use) with your solar points/dollars (Can't remember the exact term but.. ) Manufacturer's instructions for this game were kinda lacking, so I appreciate your vid.
You had to whip them to make them do that? Can.....can this be a thing? Also this is many times better than ur first few videos, This is a good watch now. You weeded out all the filler, its concise and viewer friendly now and I like how its only 1-2 small under the table jokes and the rest is just factual stuff. so well done
This is the only board game for which I've watched many videos on yet I still have the same questions no one has addressed such as 1. Can we put the initial medium tree right on the board or are medium and large trees only possible to be placed there by upgrading a small one into them? or 2. So can we only get to the center of the game through planting seeds?
The rules leave several questions unanswered; I was hoping this video would possibly clear them up, but sadly no. In the life cycle phase do players take turns using their light points (ie player 1 buys a thing, player two plants, then back to player 1), or does each player do as much as they want with their light points before the next player goes? Growing a seed counts as an action for the tree the seed grew from, not the seed itself, so can a seed be grown to a small tree in the same turn in was planted? And it's not specifically stated in the rules, but I assume once a seed or tree is in a space no other seeds or trees can be in that space, until the tree's life cycle ends and it's removed from the board?
I have 2 questions about the game: 1 - After collecting can I put a seed in same turn? 2 - If I have a medium tree at last square of a shadow of other medium or big tree will be all blocked?
On each of your turns you can only do one action that references a space on the board. So you can’t collect a tree and place a seed there in the same turn.
I might be the only one asking this but what musical piece are you using from 0:15 to 1:52? It really captivated me and kind of stole my attention, lol. Great review regardless. Keep whipping your men!
I just played this with my wife who never played anything more than Monopoly, including myself. This is my “gateway” game, if you want to call it that. It rocked. It took us over two hours, but after we grasped the game, we hit a groove. She surprised me, I didn’t think she’d be interested, but she started using some advanced techniques and almost beat me! Great game, although it’s nit something I would play all the time as it takes a lot of energy to play, at least us noobs think so.
What happens if in a turn i have enough points to collect a tree and then in the same turn i buy the same tree i collected to upgrade another one in the board, is even possible?, based on the rules of the game, i'm not using the same spot so it should be possible, but seems a little broken.
I'm slowly working my way through the Critical Role back log. All the stuff that has been coming out as I binge seems pretty bad, mostly just advertisements for games or shows on Alpha, which I guess is yet another pay wall? Is there any reason to stick around on this channel when I finish..?
The comments on this series of videos: 50% "I love Becca!" 50% "I hate Becca!" 50% "Is that Felicia Day?" 50% "Where's Tabletop?" 50% "Hey idiot, that doesn't add up to 100%!"
1, 2, and 3. Next up, Darwin’s Evolution where your specie can eat, evolve, multiply, and conquer other species. Or you can stealth mode and do the same. The winner will be the person lasted predetermined rounds or when no other species left.
Makes for good practice then. Keep it up. If it's truly too fast, you can set the video speed yourself in the settings of the video on the bottom right of the screen.
stealthyshiroean sadly, Titansgrave ended when geek and sundry was bought out because it didn't get enough views compared to other series on the channel. The thing that sucks the most is that it ended on a cliffhanger, darn you corporate!
stealthyshiroean I don't know Anything other than that it was cancelled, not saying there wasn't any effort to bring it back, I just don't know about any that did happen.
While this game looks fun, it reminds me of when I was attacked by trees as a young boy. A hypnotherapist I saw briefly insists that the trees were actually a pack of hungry wild dogs, but I know better. Please take this video down.
When you need a beautiful women. To distract the audience. From the fact that they're watching a video of a board game. About trees and photosynthesis. Lol magicians and the WWE do it, why the hell not.
A little late... but UA-cam has a feature where you can slow the speed of a video to 3/4 speed, half speed or 1/4 speed. The audio slows down too. Try it out.

@@neilr818 There are no advanced rules. This is all in the rule book which is issued with the game.

My brother and I were playing our once-yearly game of Twilight Imperium yesterday and wishing we had Becca Scott to explain it to us. :P
You also get 1 score point for every 3 light points you have left at the end of the game :) great video!!
Nice and clear presentation! Just enough of fun as well.

This game is popular in the store. I'm glad they made a video explaining it.

Nice touch with the ACTUAL shadows on the game board.

no, only upgrade
yes, only with seeds

odd concept for a tabletop game. I like it :)
There was so good flutist that I couldnt focus on the rules at all😅🙏❤ love from finland🇫🇮🎼🎶

can she teach me how to play every single game I play ever please? I just subscribed because of this video
Thanks for shedding some light on Phitosynthesis, har har har.
Plays best with an actual light source moved together with the sun tile side. Great video, thank you! P.S. Did you actually whip them?.. :)
Probably use a little flashlight and you have your light source. That's what I'd do.
Whats that for music in the background?
Simple, excellent, like always.

Shadow: exists
Hemlock: You have no power here!
Can you do eldritch horror as that’s a very hard game to set up and don’t get me started on what it wants to do
When will this be Gamed the Game?

It's possible. Great way to save light points
You need to make one of these vids for the new Fallout game.
I just want to know that beautiful theme behind the scene
Where’s the play through?
I'm slowly working my way through the Critical Role back log. All the stuff that has been coming out as I binge seems pretty bad, mostly just advertisements for games or shows on Alpha, which I guess is yet another pay wall? Is there any reason to stick around on this channel when I finish..?
Am I the only one that misses table top
Nope. Not at all.
I do miss table top, but I really like quick learning different games with Becca. I just want both, is that too much to ask?!
This game is great and looks fantastic on a tablr
It looks even better on a table.
dang it.
Compliments to the Composer!
I love the colours of this game. Looks sweet! BUT, can it be solo'd? That is the real question.

I would love to see this on Table Top with Wil fucking Weaton.
just here to kickoff 2018 with the sweet Becca

There is a game called Evolution. Slightly different than what you described but pretty good.
Jane K Wooo, I think I remember seen that at Target featuring dinosaurs outside box. ^_^
That's the one!
Line Dice has a handful of rules and can be explained in 1 minute. :/
3:11 Matrix issues.
This was actually really helpful
I played this today. It was fun, but the only problem is that the last several turns can become pointless.
Wood Wars - and not a shot is fired!
Bring back table top
"Keep playing games"... just doesn't have that ring to it...
please review treasure island
She's talking like all viewers are toddlers. @1:50 I lost her. - One, two, tree.
Beccaaaaaaa
Azul by Plan B games?
lovely, but being english not my first language, you go a little too fast for my personal taste.

There needs to be a game where people compete to see which painted wall dries first... But good vid.
JunkAccumulator that's just called huffing paint
Should have named it 'Tree Wars' lmao
But where Tabletop? Where Wil Wheaton?
I'm still asking where Titansgrave is at... :(
stealthyshiroean sadly, Titansgrave ended when geek and sundry was bought out because it didn't get enough views compared to other series on the channel. The thing that sucks the most is that it ended on a cliffhanger, darn you corporate!

Just here to see Becca
what about the board game ?
Just here to see a normal person explain games... instead of some boring neckbeard.
Me and my friends? Note to your editor: Your music track is way too loud.
Ok, boomer.
Where the hell is table top

i would rather play lumber jack irl.
Do I have to play a tree? I want to play an alga!
Still confused, but now I think I'm into red head bdsm...
Came here just to say this. ^^^
Me too brother

Instead of desperately trying to appear cool and amusing, why don't you just explain the game properly?
Too hot, I can watch her do underwater basket weaving anyday lol
This game should be bought and commercialised by Viagra.
So is she made in a lab or ? Humans cant be that cute...
:)
When you need a beautiful women. To distract the audience. From the fact that they're watching a video of a board game. About trees and photosynthesis. Lol magicians and the WWE do it, why the hell not.
Daniel Dionne I bought this last night 😅 Love me a good table top game
She can grow my tree anyday!
Gimme dat sweet sweet cringe

Too complicated. Distracted by her face. Learned nothing, but had a great time. #Trees
Great explanation, but you went too fast. maybe speak slower when explaining key rules
A little late... but UA-cam has a feature where you can slow the speed of a video to 3/4 speed, half speed or 1/4 speed. The audio slows down too. Try it out.
I want to watch these, and learn how they're played. But I can't handle this Felicia Day knock off shouting at me the whole time.
Oh look. It's Felicia Day.
Where? All I see is Becca...
THEMrFill ...
If you don't want to appear stupid, don' say stupid things.
I was just trying to joke around... clearly didn't work. Sorry for being stupid. :(
Granted her hairstyle is very similar to Felishia's.
You know no one is interested in the game when the top two comments are sexual innuendos and bdsm fantasies. This game does look like shite though.
Becca has gone to puberty
Off-brand Felicia Day?
is she pregnant?
God ... please marry me.
