Yes, but this way the jumper wire is out of the way and wont get broken loose if someone opens the ipad later?

Nice repair but it is much easier to do this after the port is on, just cover the wire in uv solder mask so it doesn’t get knocked on future repairs.

Did you consider putting the wire on after attaching the flex instead, to allow the flex to sit flat on the board, I’ve never done it so I don’t know how hard it is to do, just wondering if that would be easier.

Amazing soldering work. Couldn't figure out why, even with Amtech, my solder was creeping up the iron tip. Now I'm thinking maybe I need to increase my temp from 385C. 🤔

What a shame, he actually did a good job with the jumper cable but in the wrong place, he was pulling a data line to ground, even though he botched it, it was a good try, but as always you saved it with your master skills, great video!!!

i would have done it slightly different ,(only after watching your videos it made me think about it) instead of the enameled wire going under the flex connector and on top of the solder mask (which could have made it more pronounced )that the flex cable might not have sat nicely ,you could of masked the board then added the flex cable then the jumper wire on top of the flex where you have even more space to tack it down.

You could have soldered their flex cable without putting that wire pad, and then connect pin 4 to the test point as you did. It would be a bit less work imho
    Great job
