Idk what everyone's hating on. This is possibly the best album I know of from the year 1994. Classic Power metal style from Mark and Youngblood. It's amazing
Personally I think very weak. It's good but nothing like Epica or Black Halo. So much more feelings and meaning than this. I think very generic in fact. The singer is absolutely influenced by Helloween and Queensryche, as most part of the Power Metal singers. Roy Khan was something else, unique.
It's also the different styles of power metal that Thomas decided to write. Eternity is total USPM but Dominion onward they gradually shifted towards the European style of power metal until moving in a more progressive direction with Ghost Opera.
Mark isn't bad? OMG, he's awesome, farly better than Khan... He really reminds me the great Midnight (RIP), and the first two Kamelot albums are awesome, real us power in Crimson Glory style!
NOOOOOOOOOO!!! I told myself I wouldn't listen to Kamelot before Khan. I thought it would ruin the magic...... it totally did : ( I don't mean to flame Vanderbilt, but Khan is just the best singer I have ever heard. I guess you'd have to be to sing opera!
I definitely don't see what's wrong with this guy. In fact, despite Khan being a technically more skilled vocalist, I enjoy this guy's style more. He reminds me of a lot of 80's power metal like "Keeper"-era Helloween, Gamma Ray's debut, and early Fates Warning.
How we can compare Roy khan who studied like opera singer and the old vocalist sorry for my bad english No podemos comparar a roy khanquien estudio para cantante de opera contra el viejo vocalista
That's Kamelot from back when they had Vanderbilt as a singer. I'm, uh, not a fan either. It's interesting to listen to this older stuff and say "And now they're one of the best bands in existance... now THAT took talent."
I like pre-Khan Kamelot. But they just don't sound like the Kamelot that I've come to know and love. They sound like a completely different band, not bad just different. Guess that really speaks to how much influence Khan had over the band. As for the singer...he's good! I can't help but compare him to Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson...
Mark Vanderbilt is the best singer for this kind of music and for that time. For this album. Thats how i get into Kamelot. Khan is/was great but this is the beginning and should not be underated!
I like Khan's voice better too but I love the earlier Kamelot's music too. It is almost a mix between Queensryche and Iron Maiden....bizarre in a good way.
Kamelot were gnarly back then! Then they became too obsessed with gothic themes and darkness, lol. They were awesome till Ghost Opera at least.. But I can't forget this album.. Musically it totally matches the name of the band.
I love a lot of Kamelot's music, but what is up with the first 55 seconds of the song? It doesn't fit with anything; it's like it was placed there arbitrarily.
The singer is annoying. But he does have potential to be a very good singer. But he does this stupid nasally shit and sometimes James Hetfields his voice and that's fucking annoying. His voice sounds kind of like Geoff Tate or Geddy Lee in terms of timbre. Not as good as them though.
Everyone is glad Vanderbilt's gone. Khan is much, much better as vocalist. Also his involvement in the musical work has shown improvement in the bands sound.
Wow, I was always under the impression that this singer was rubbish; but he's not actually that bad. Khan is miles better ofcourse, but this actually still sounds good, kinda like Queensryche :)
dude!! This is classic Kamelot!
best yet ...this music is for the eternity same thy name sign it....mystic too
best yet ...this music is for the eternity same thy name sign it....
best yet ...this music is for the eternety same thy name sign it....mystic too
I don't care which vocal, simply, Kamelot is da best ! :) fingers up
Pretty solid! I didn't think I would like this as much as I did. They sound a little like Iced Earth
My god.. The intro *^*
best yet ...this music is for the eternety same thy name sign it....mistyc too
You said it all. This is the Kamelot i know
like that old stuff the most, but I also grew up with bands like crimson glory ;-)
Idk what everyone's hating on. This is possibly the best album I know of from the year 1994. Classic Power metal style from Mark and Youngblood. It's amazing
Maybe I am the only that thinks that
Mark Vanderbilt is an amazing singer.
The first two CD with him are the best Kamelot recordings.
The intro is epic.
Am I the only one who prefers this album to their other work? It's simply amazing.
Personally I think very weak. It's good but nothing like Epica or Black Halo. So much more feelings and meaning than this. I think very generic in fact. The singer is absolutely influenced by Helloween and Queensryche, as most part of the Power Metal singers. Roy Khan was something else, unique.

at that time rumors told Midnight was singing in Kamelot
True! ;)
Thanks :)
OMG now that i think about it you're right O.o
@finbar90201 yeah, he's rather similar. But so far, I haven't heard any High Pitch screams ):!
@lauravw1996 no it is not Khan, Khan joined in 1998, prior to Roy Khantatat was Mark Vanderbilt
@Ellyosa Yes he did, he's gone for good according to an official statement released by Kamelot
Please Upload Red Sands With Lyriicsss! ^^ Incrediblee Soong
yes
I actually like Mark's voice a lot.
The singers name is Mark Vanderbildt
Haha I thought the same thing when i first heard it =D
Mark isn't bad? OMG, he's awesome, farly better than Khan... He really reminds me the great Midnight (RIP), and the first two Kamelot albums are awesome, real us power in Crimson Glory style!
holy crap, this guy sounds like Midnight from Crimson Glory...or early Warrel Dane...their best singer ever.
That is correct
i agree. khan ftw!
@samlewis45 hey now you mention it it really does! fucking love queensryche
The beging of the song makes me want to play Zelda. Lead voice sounds like the singer in Queensryche. I like old Kamelot, Not relly the new stuff.
@TMCKookeh this is old Kamelot.
NOOOOOOOOOO!!! I told myself I wouldn't listen to Kamelot before Khan. I thought it would ruin the magic...... it totally did : ( I don't mean to flame Vanderbilt, but Khan is just the best singer I have ever heard. I guess you'd have to be to sing opera!
most kamelot songs have too long intros and cant put em for melody on my phone
I definitely don't see what's wrong with this guy. In fact, despite Khan being a technically more skilled vocalist, I enjoy this guy's style more. He reminds me of a lot of 80's power metal like "Keeper"-era Helloween, Gamma Ray's debut, and early Fates Warning.
The vocalist sounds a bit like a cross of Midnight from Crimson Glory and Jon Arch from Fates Warning.
Am i the only one who love the guy who's singing? I like khan, but i think this is better :)
And who is singing?
I actually kind of like this album. Can't say the same for Dominion though :P
Oh, wow, you know the name of this vocalist?
khan is not yet the lead vocals in this song........
kamelot established its legacy when khan entered.....
GO KAMELOT!!!!!
Great band. They have lost their edge these days. Life changes people sometimes..
please tell me that wasn't kamelot.
what the fuck was that
How we can compare Roy khan who studied like opera singer and the old vocalist
sorry for my bad english
No podemos comparar a roy khanquien estudio para cantante de opera contra el viejo vocalista
That's Kamelot from back when they had Vanderbilt as a singer.
I'm, uh, not a fan either. It's interesting to listen to this older stuff and say "And now they're one of the best bands in existance... now THAT took talent."
The song sounds alright but... Seems like it would be much better remastered using Khan
I like pre-Khan Kamelot. But they just don't sound like the Kamelot that I've come to know and love. They sound like a completely different band, not bad just different. Guess that really speaks to how much influence Khan had over the band.
As for the singer...he's good! I can't help but compare him to Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson...
looking for MIDI...
Mark Vanderbilt is the best singer for this kind of music and for that time. For this album. Thats how i get into Kamelot.
Khan is/was great but this is the beginning and should not be underated!
Runescape for the first minute and half...afterwards, some disorganized shitty sounds, i see how much they've improved
@pandatrueno1 Lol sorry it's just that i am so use to Khan
it isn't Kahn? freaky, but you can hear it sure!
I love a lot of Kamelot's music, but what is up with the first 55 seconds of the song? It doesn't fit with anything; it's like it was placed there arbitrarily.
This is so painfully average compared to what they would go on to do starting with The Fourth Legacy.
I know him and he only posted this because noone else had :) He doesnt like this also :O
Im so sorry but it sounds like Adam sandler singing
Midnight a parody of Tate...HAHAHA...bless u sunshine!!! no suprise such enlightening truths usually come from 19y old hammerhead Dorothies
true, but vanderbilt has nothing on midnight, nothing.
Huh? This isn't Khan?
no wonder they fired this lead singer
He sounds exactly like Midnight... who sounds like a parody of Geoff Tate. No one can beat Geoff Tate.
this guy's a good power metal singer, but he alters his voice WAYYYY too much while singing, and Roy Khan is alot better than him.

Wow, I was always under the impression that this singer was rubbish; but he's not actually that bad. Khan is miles better ofcourse, but this actually still sounds good, kinda like Queensryche :)
this is not bad but personally I prefer the new kamelot
roy khan is much better than mark banderblit
Old Kamelot reminds me of Stratovarius. I like the Stratovarius Vocalist Much better, though. This guy just annoys me.
I don't like Mark's voice. The intro is fantastic, though :D
He is good, but i like Khan better ^^
Better than new gay Kamelot.
WOW! Thank god the lineup changed... Khan sounds like god compared to this guy
this singer is way too squeaky, like khan a lot better
the singer sucks but the music is asewome
best yet ...this music is for the eternity same thy name sign it....
