2017 US Open 8-Ball Championships July 29-31, 2017 Griff's Las Vegas, NV Sponsors: Predator Chalk, Cyclop Balls, Kamui Tips, Iwan Simonis Cloth, and Omega Billiards
At 50.21 morris moved the 8 ball trying to hit the 12, at least an inch. Why is not a foult/ball in hand for melling? They said he moved it just a little bit. Wtf is that?
Here is @Michael Triumph's comment translated with G translate: Because there are no standard rules regarding fouls, they are set according to the tournament / organizers. For example, in some tournaments the foul on the shirt is considered (ie if you touch a ball with the shirt when bending over the table), others do not. Another example is the announcement of the pocket. In some tournaments, it is mandatory to announce the corner where you will send the object ball, others take into account the "lucky" winnings. -------------------------- Rodney asked Chris if wanted the eight ball moved back and he said to leave it where it was. Because of this verbal exchange, there is no foul.
According to the rules bumping a ball on accident with anything but the tip of the cue stick is permissible as long as the ball is placed back in it's correct position as closely as possible
Peadar Films Obviously the kids got talent. I know of 5 people personally that bought into the hype and have bought one regrettably. Obviously the guys who are sponsored by Predator will play with them, they are pure and utter garbage and I'm a Predator fan.
scott MacDonald Yeah at the end of the day a cue is more about the player who uses it. Filler and Melling would be just as good with any cue, within reason obviously.
Peadar Films For sure, both guys are fun to watch. A few pros here in Canada said they would have to tweak the Revo to play with one. I think the Carbon is good for strength and warp resistance but they have to work on the feel. If they could nail that, it would be alot better imo.
You're telling me you watched 45 minutes of this and didn't realize a trend.. a trend of a player playing only stripes OR solids and the pocketing the 8 last.. even a person who has never seen a pool cue could figure out 8 ball by the 45 minute mark
Bill, none of that shows that a solid->8 ball combination is not allowed. I assumed the game was over if the 8 ball was pocketed, and the first ball that was hit was solid, if you had solids. It was a simple assumption. That's how rotation games work (the goal in 9 ball is to pocket the 9 and you don't have to pocket the others, and 10-ball is to pocket the 10 and you don't have to pocket the others), and I assumed this was the same. I didn't know 8 ball was an exception.
You could watch an hour of 9-ball and never know that 1-9 combinations are allowed. If every game you saw was a clearing of the table, how would you possibly know about combinations? Not sure why you need to be a jerk about it.
these two gentlemen played 12 games in 1:07:00 ralph souquet and jonny archer would of took 3 hours for sure
So true.
Yeah it's painful to watch

They literally explain it on the first/second rack
That second rack was a real situation lol
Meiling should throw that Revo shaft into the nearest dumpster.
scott MacDonald Really because Filler didn't go too far wrong with it in the Mosconi

25:28
24:53
21:05
15:24
At 46:20, why not play the 2-8 combination?
otakurocklee Hope you’re not trolling... the 8 ball is pocketed at the end, when a player clears his/her set of balls. As opposed to 9 ball...
No, not trolling. I didn't know the rules for 8-ball. Thanks for the info.

These commentators are really annoying sometimes
Really need a new announcer this one blows at speaking
And also as a referee is not that precise.
Melling sucks. cant even make an easy shot
1:00:24 that was a foul?? He hit the damn ball! lol Wtf.
You didn't listen to the commentary? The cueball (or any ball) needs to hit the rail after contact unless a ball is pocketed.
