  • Here is a slow speed CW QSO using a recently restored Heathkit HW-101 with a Junker Straight key.
    Information on the key: www.hamradioqr...
The video ends abruptly because my camera ran out of battery.
I don't have the time at present to provide a transcription. If someone wants to send me one I'll add in the comments with attribution.

I am the lucky owner of three Junker keys. One very early one and two post war ones. Wonderful pieces of first qualty functional engineering and manufacture.

I just obtained a heathkit hw 101 and power supply to restore. I hope it sounds as good as yours when I'm finished. I really enjoy your hw 101 videos. More please.
Thank you for your service to the hobby.

You'll enjoy that old radio. Just be careful when you're working on it when it's powered up. I finally bought and restored an old Heathkit Voltmeter so that I could accurately measure voltages over 400.

@@HamRadioQRP..rog. Be nice to have it back in the land of of the living but not essential. I'm my dotage, I am becoming a collector - hence the 492.
My motto is "why have one of something when you can have two at twice the price".
