My advice would be not to shoot off a car bonnet. It will flex too much and throw your shots off. Use a bench or solid surface. Also shoot off a sandbag not a bipod. A bag is always the best rest. That way you can accurately develop a load for it. Great video and good luck.

When this rifle model came to the market in Slovenia years ago, we all had the same problems. Under the rail, we applied Uhu endfest 300 epoxy glue, tightened the screws to the appropriate torque and the problems disappeared forever. Otherwise, this is an excellent rifle for the money invested.

My rail came loose on my bergara I used a good epoxy on it then torqued it down had no issues since. Also found during the load development it didn't like the bipod couldn't get it to group well at all only 1 that did group was a 130gr bullet. So changed to just shooting over a bag massive improvement. Cheers.

I am really intrested in how well this gun with the 20 inch barrel can shoot lead free ammo so thank you for doing the tests. I hope to see if you implement any of the ideas from the comments such as a different picitiny rail or screw loc etc. Thanks again

Glue scope base with epoxy to gun. If not,,,those tiny screws taking all recoil and one day they cut off. I'm gunsmith and I see lots of loose scope bases, broken screws and worn out (oval shape) threads on guns. One gun owner was on shooting range, base screws cut off and his Zeiss dropped to concrete. 😪

Which GPO is that? I've gone for the 1.5-9x44 for my BA13. I don't have the rifle yet, but the scope should arrive any day now...
I've seen a few comments/reviews online mentioning the rail screws being loose out of the box, or coming loose. I'll be sure to torque mine before I shoot it in...

It’s the fixed power 7.5x50 GPO! Good luck with the BA13!

I have been nothing but impressed with my BA13 in .243 it is grouping well sub moa with many loads and bullet weights .
And an absolute tack driver with ammo it likes.
The sub 200yd goto gun in my safe .(i wouldn't shoot any quarry over that)
    A great stalking woodland gun.
My friend has a 14 in .243 and you would not believe the groups he gets with even PPU .

Frustrating when this happens. Word of advice, Loctite the grub screws for the rail, and if those are the £30 cheapo Hawke mounts or the like which have a piece of tape inside the ring to make up for the loose manufacturing tolerances, chuck them straight in the bin. A decent set of rings should cost circa £100. Anything less will give you sub optimal precision and could also damage your scope tube 👍

My advice put 60-100rds through it. Yep loctite those screws that will help ya the most.

Replace the piccatini rail first of all, that one that's from bergara is shit, its made out of aluminium and not godnatt work if you are looking for tight groups,. I bought one from Nordik Distribution in sweden and the groups signifikantle went smaller, best regards from sweden # ilovemybargaraba13td

The bipod has rubber feet, so bonnet is fine!

Dito, First time the scope base was secure, next time it had loosened off, dab of loctiite sorted that out. Mine does not like copper, best group; 1.3" with Norma 170-grain TipStrike (lead cored). I feel reloading would find a sweeter load. May I suggest you get some hi-viz paint to spray your gong with, as without it you're more guessing POI than certain. Equally, get a spotting scope, all that walking up and down is a pain. Nice vid guys, keep it up! For barrel break-in, I shoot one, clean one for 20-rounds, then shoot two, clean two for the next ten. Good luck.

A wee bit of green loctite under the rail and blue on the threads of the properly tightened screws is my set and forget procedure.
