Ive learnt from the very beginning that you cant judge a sikth song on the first listen. i like this one more each time i hear it
Woah! Had no idea they were coming out with new music, love this
haha Andrew.. did you catch the 'Opacities' EP... before they released this album?
ps - That last riff.... love how it evolves each revolution and just gets more nuts :)
Ahhh, It's like drinking from the most refreshing natural spring on Earth... but for my ears and soul. Thank you guys for continuing to make music. Everything here sounds great and Joe sounds great too. Looking forward to everyting ou guys release. Hoping to see you guys on tour next time you are in the states.
The part that starts at 3:08 is too cool.
Sounds very much like Periphery. Would you say that Periphery copied Sikth or the other way around?
What a fucking way to leave work on a Friday. With this Goliath blasting in my headphones.
+ceilingkatt sikth formed in the late 90s. this band (alongside meshuggah) is a major influence to the djent movement.
I bought an EP these guys released back somewhere around 2002 or 2003, can't really remember- and I waited anxiously for The Trees Are Dead and Dried Out (one of my favorite albums ever). Then I waited for Death of a Dead Day (also really fucking awesome).... and holy fuck I was so disappointed when I heard they broke up.....fast forward to like a decade later and they've fucking released Opacities and now this teaser for what is to come.... Thank you Sikth for doing what you do, you are far more appreciated than you probably know! I thought I would never hear more of your wonderful music, but I'm so motherfucking damn-ass happy that you've given us more of your wizardy! I'm a long-time fan, and always will be!
There are many imitators...but the king of them all remains, SikTh, and so it shall always be...
I can't get enough of this. It's crazy thinking how long I've been listening to them now and they still never disappoint
loved you guys at slipknot concert in Leeds last year. loving you guys more then slipknot this year now!!!!
Weird. For some reason this song on Apple Music is missing the vocals from 3:09-3:24.
So good! No one does it like SikTh
Nolly is the master of all Snare Drums.
Always pushing the boundaries, that's why you will keep on being THE BEST...
This gets better on every listen. The bass near the end is delightful
Great to have them back!
this must be one of my favourite tracks on the album.
First time hearing! I love it! Greetings from Brazil
Love the music & message !
Fantastic album, guys. So glad you got back together.
Holy shit that's coool!!!
And I get to see you guys tomorrow in Ireland, sooo pumped!!!
Edit: annnnd replay
Ah that sucks. There was no way I was gonna miss them, even going on my own because none of my friends were free
flu55ball I'd like to go and see them in Vienna and i hope, when you have seen them, you could tell me how long was their set... Thanks in advance and have a blast! :)
SNARE.
Corey Ballenger Nolly didn't have any involvement in this album, did he :s
iamrichlol This is only a single, but yes, he mixed and mastered it.
I still comeback for the song and the guitar/bass/drums/vocals part on 2:45
This new album sounds like it should be good fun.
Super excited to see you guys tomorrow at the Roundhouse!
Saw you guys at the Roundhouse in London around a month ago. Fantastic show, the pit floor was really slippery!!
Finally some good metal..
It's just goes to show how unknown sikth actually were. One of the best brittish metal acts out there, and people are like wwhhhhuuuuuutttt.
I wish I could upvote twice. One time for this amazing song and another time for this very well made video!
Great song! I missed you guys!
Don't know what it is, but I like the bass on this one :3
Holy shit yes. Awesome song guys. Thanks for the great music.
amazing as usual one of the best bands ever
oh man cannot wait for the new album....its been way too fcking long!
Satisfies the question of 'does it djent?'. Last half is innovative af.
Excited to hear more as this sounds dope.
original good mixte about the vocal and sound.
Man! This is so good!
I'm really liking this. Joe fits in perfectly :)
I was not expecting a new album. Fuck yeah! Thank you so much guys.
Been a while since I've been excite about metal.
Daniel Marino-Austin ulcerate.car bomb.coma cluster void.ion dissonance ...just fucking said!!!
This warrants not a single dislike.
This year has brought us such amazing albums so far!
I couldn't be happier! :3 \m/
well that's officially my favorite song off of that album
Is right boys!
YES. YES. YES.
That was a very well written song guys 0.0.
those septuplets in the intro thooo
Yessss!!!!!!!!!
Dark creepy lyrics!!!
FUUUCKKKK. NEW SIKTH.....YESSSS!!!!
Blissful
Not an instant hit to me, but that has always been the case with SikTh to me. I like it. That's all that matters.
Amazing. I bought the single from Google Play and 3:08 part does no contain the opening part of lyrics (relating to "art of manipulation").
muito bom heinnn....
I think it deserves a few more plays; it's not an instant hit. That said, lyrically it's superb. Fair play to trying something a little different. I suspect this will be one of the more melodic tracks heh! I'm waiting for something wild....
Elements of Death there and Atheist and Watchtower ... this band has blown me away first time hearing
This makes us so fucking happy.
is this a new song
Dude this track is fucking kicking, remember them playing with Altered Ego, Fwah Storm and his bands, Snub and more from Bournemouth, this guy, these fucking awesome, liked and shared all the ways :D
2017 looking good so far! FUCK YEAH!!! \m/
Holy shit this gave me goosebumps
awesome..grettings \m/
Alright alright alright
Does anyone think this version is better than the one on the album? The section at 3:08 is different on the album
kinda feeling an At The Drive In vibe in the vocals
kick ass
I'm not sure how I feel about this yet. The guitar work is excellent, but the vocals seem to lack cohesiveness.
Granted it took me a long time to get into to Sikth at all, because of the vocals. So maybe after a few more listens I'll "get" it.
I LOVE the vocals in the first full record (trees innit). Sikth, as mental as they are, have hooks - they range from a weird scream to a sweet chant or whatever. But this just didn't do it for me vocally. No hooks :/ (wierd that i want that from them haha) - but new guy is badass for sure. Well trained. Musically, amazing track though. I reckon this wont be my fave on the album, but that just means I think others will be a lot better :P
You're not supposed to get the vocals. For me I love them and how psychotic they are
I grew to really like their vocal style. It's very weird, but it's undeniably sikth
brutal
I think it's wrong at this point to expect another TTADADOWFSW or DOADD. This is solid but seems to lack the nuance of the older stuff. You could tell the older stuff had been written over a longer period and the tracks had had time to breathe. All the same, I literally cannot wait for the new album. An album i never thought I would hear!
This took years to grow on me. I always wrote it off because DOADD changed me so much, but eventually it clicked. A very special band.
I'm sorry but I do miss Justin Hill
I had two turkey wishbones, one large one small, sitting up on the kitchen sink for the past week until a few days ago. They ended up mysteriously broken so I threw them away. Then I find this song today. My last name is Palm.
Weird.
At 3:52 ; My ears have a massive orgasm. Every time. Brilliant fucking arrangement.
how are you guys so consistently good. you might be my favorite band as of right now. the transitioning is so beautiful.. pinn and dan are gods.
here's sikth with this awesome track and then we have doris 😔
Doris is okay. Not what everyone expected but if Korn released it people would be all over it. They're also both in different leagues so I don't know you even brought that up...
thats a dumb thing to say.
if korn released it, IT SOUNDS LIKE KORN, SO OF COURSE PEOPLE WOULDNT BE BOTHERED.
i fuckin love it
Interesting
Hold my finger!
waitaminute. ...i just heard the song "mother" by the police for the first time ever. whoah. eye opener 😂😂
Horrible Histories vibes
fuckin' incredible!
Is the new guy even singing on this track? If he is then his voice is too similar to Mikees.
His singing voice is a lot closer to Mikees, but if you hear any high pitched scream that sounds vaguely like Justin? That's the new guy. He doesn't have many solo parts, mostly alternating with the high pitched shrieks at the end and some of the clean parts in the verses.
Best examples are 0:32, 1:42, and the low ass operatic voice in the chorus that's him.
Tanner Harolde actually the low parts are mikee and the higher ones are mine :)
Joseph Rosser Ohp. I've been had! I can hear it's you after a few more listens, just didn't think the low bit sounded like him at all lmao, woops. Good work though, man. Can't wait to hear the new record. #Hypetrainleavingthestation
I actually really like this new song. It sounds like it's a few tracks into the new album, and that's why it's not as catchy. Just IMO. Good stuff though!
at first I thought its jimmy urine of msi on the vocals xD
sikth is woke
Fuck this is too good... Missing justin
I do miss Justin's singing in this, but the new guy's screams are... REALLY similar. Soo I can hang. XD
I can hear some Blind Guardian influence in this one
Aloof
Noice
666th like ;)
I'm a fan but heard better by then.
I feel the same way. Im just not digging it. There was a coupla tracks on the ep they released recently. Dont get me wrong, i fucking love sikth. Been into them since waaaaaay back in the day. But like you said, ive heard better. I hope the rest of the album is. More. Good. Er.
I feel the same, but I felt the same about Opacities (specifically Philistine Philosophies) and now I love it, so perhaps it needs some time to grow on me.
It certainly grew on me. Sometimes a mix just takes a while to adapt to. Like thousands of evils by vildhjarta, i HATED the mix originally but after a while it sort of clicked and then i could appreciate everything else without distraction. With this new song from sikth, it took a few listens to "get" what they were trying to do, and what's changed. I'm loving it.
PrPwnage sikTh do nothing by halves. Retract this ridiculous comment.
hmm, this humanitarian crisis seems to be seeping into djent a lot recently
:-D
Shut up and take my money
Comment
This make me feel like I'm in an intense Final Fantasy battle, in a good way!
Some redpill lyrics here folks.
Ok. I've lived with the album for a while now and I still think it's their weakest record Strangely it has nothing to do with the change of vocalist . Although do kinda miss Justins vocals I think I miss his production more.
True. It's easily their weakest album. Not all tracks manage to maintain the craftsmanship, originality and insanity.
I remember when Nolly was doing guitar covers of SikTh tracks. Now he's mastering for them and is the bassist in Periphery. What a legend.
me too!
I figured out most of Summer Rain from his video haha
SacredDuck k Nolly mixed this album, and it was mastered by Ermin Hamidovic.
Nolly left Periphery :(
