Parliament has begun debating the Union Budget presented by FM Nirmala Sitharaman. The Budget Has special packages for Andhra Pradesh and Bihar, in a sign of Modi courting the two allies his government needs for political survival. Opposition leaders led by Rahul Gandhi protested against the budget today and what they alleged was the discrimination against other states. But it is not just the opposition who is protesting. The BJP's own voters are angry about the increase in short term and long term capital gains tax and the new rule on the indexation of property.

Why is this Rajat Sethi called for discussion on budget? I would rather Mojo invite real economists like Prof Jayati Ghosh, Radhika Desai who can provide real picture of economy and not BJP stooges. Middle class is once again punished while the capitalists are not taxed enough.

The BJP is the very antithesis of all the good that the Congress governments have brought to this country. The 8.2% GDP that Manmohan Singh achieved in the 10yrs of the UPA1 and 2 will never happen under this myopic and shortsighted BJP govt. The people of this country deserve much much better politicians and governments. Get rid of Modi and things will come back where they were last left by the Manmohan Singh government.
