      Nice video, but at 3:30 you are strafing which is a different tactic with different ways of being executed so it would be cool to see you do a video on that. I subbed btw.

    so peak fast, prefire, profit?

    • @run4walk
      @run4walk 8 років тому +9

      Just prefire = profit. Even if you exclude peeker's advantage, you cut out the time it takes you to react to them and pressing the button. Not an awful lot of time, but game changing in Rainbow Six Siege

    • @bnero5764
      @bnero5764 8 років тому +15

      "Just Prefire"....that is exactly the point. Theoretically if you can prefire every single spot with one bullet on headshot hight (R6 or CS:GO) you will win almost every encounter (only double stack then can make a trade kill possible).
      But the problem is that is way harder to do then it seems.

      +#WWEThemes It doesn't matter, if you know there is a player there it can give you a massive advantage. Besides, have you ever actually ran out of ammo in rainbow? They give you a generous amount

    A thing that a lot of people in this game (and also in CoD) don't get is that tactical shooter doesn't mean you have to do everything slowly. It means you're in control of the game's pace. It's the whole reason why you have 4 minutes of round time. Being in control of the game's pace also means rushing when you have to or deliberately going for a suicide because it would win you a couple of seconds of time, or just wildly spraying down a corridor just because it makes a crapton of noise and attracts a lot of attention.
    Peeker's advantage and prefire is not some kind of universal panacea to your shooting problem if all you do is spraying at the "center of mass". It does improve your k/d, sure, but not as much as control of your trigger finger (read: be absolutely aware of how many rounds you're going to waste on your enemy) and preaim (putting your crosshair where you expect to shoot later).

    Another way to hold an angle but still be the one peeking is this right here. So the goal here is to hold an insanely narrow angle that will make it impossible for you or the enemy to use. The only way you're gonna use it is for information. Once you see the enemy crossing from one side to the other, prefire at head level for some nasty kills. All you need for this is ok reaction time and some good recoil management. Honesty guys, it's very rare that you're going to lose that duel. It's absolutely disgusting.

      The Dossier I was just hoping for a game with somewhat slower action. All your strategies can be countered by simply knowing how to best take advantage of latency...

    • @nostromotomo
      @nostromotomo 8 років тому +48

      I feel the same. Rainbow Six is supposed to be a tactical shooter; meaning that it should be slower paced, clear rooms for gadgets and traps, checking corners and certain positions having advantages. I still think that someone prefiring around a corner would have an advantage as they are shooting before the other person can react, but it shouldn't be done in such a way that the person on the receiving end didn't even see them or when people are shooting at thin air and getting kills. The game mechanics are pretty solid in this game, but all this nonsense about having to take advantage of the latency and general netcode issues of the game just makes it poorly designed and not enjoyable to play.

    • @Internetzspacezshipz
      @Internetzspacezshipz 8 років тому +4

      NostromoTomo I think it could be fixed with headshots doing DBNO, and somewhat slower movement speed. I am sure most people would not want these things though.

    • @tomscroy4135
      @tomscroy4135 8 років тому +27

      It's like this on consoles much more slower and tactical. Siege is still a pretty unique experience though. There is just no other game like it, I mostly like the tension that builds up while defending. It's a very special feeling man.

    Lol all these salty comments are just from guys who couldn't understand the mechanics of this game and try to use it at their advantage, so they get killed by smart people like Serenity, get salty about it and just rage!
    Every game has its own mechanics, and what makes the difference between players is whether or not they understand them and use them to their profit.
    Keep up the good work Serenity, you've made me realize how it is important to develop quick reaction time and that this game requires more speed than camping ^^

    Great video! Covered a lot of great tips for new players that would otherwise think the game is glitched, to experienced players that need a refresher on the fundamentals. Very technical explanations and clear presentations. 5/5 stars. Sharing with friends!

    I got this game recently and have been enjoying my time with it quite a bit. And while I appreciate your video for being very well-made and informative, I have to admit it soured my view of the game somewhat. Abusing latency to such an extent really shouldn't be an issue in a game that's supposed to be about tactical movement. And this stuff isn't even limited to high-level playing anymore, I'm encountering this in my level 20 casual games. Kinda wishing Ubi would do something about this.

    0:56 you can see that the guy possibly saw you're gun flash through the wall so that possibly had a big influenced on you're death.
