So great to have you back! Excellent pick! I just bought a Rolex last week (a Hulk), and this watch was among my 2 finalists (I also had it on my wrist). It is a very beautiful watch indeed. I wonder why Rolex keeps insisting on giving its GMTs Easylink clasps, when their Glidelocks are a superior technology (whether you're wearing a diving suite or not).
Thanks Danny :-) I do see what you're saying but I also praise the easy link often as it's so simple to extend when needed. I actually am not a fan of the Glidelock on the subs, but the Deep Sea version is fantastic.
You're right. I could extend the Easylink on the fly with one hand (I had a new Air King). The Sub glidelock is definitely a take-off-the-wrist, two-hand operation.
+Danny The deep sea version is actually fine on-wrist too, but I just feel there's a risk of dropping the watch as soon as you have to remove it to adjust, say on a Sub. The deep sea clasps seem to trade around £1-2000 so they are definitely seen as worthwhile.
It's because the Glidelock is a longer and more uncomfortable clasp. The GMT clasp is shorter and the articulated links mold to the contours of your wrist more, plus you've got Easylink.
Just got this one 13.5k. Way cheaper than a rootbeer. Though I love the Rootbeer, it's like 21k and basically it's the same watch in most all ways but for the power reserve.
I bought mine in 2007 and immediately loved it. I had a bi-metal Submariner at the same time and as it wasn't getting any wrist time, I sold it. This was the first GMT Master in my collection but not the last, since buying it I also added a 2007 GMT Coke and last year a BLNR which I also adore. But if I'm going out in a suit, the 116713 is my first choice.
Never been drawn to gold, but must admit this is nicely balance and great addition to your collection, since the TinTin and PP were culled. Enjoy and best wishes.
Another great vid. Interesting comments about the all gold. I’ve seen a couple around recently and they sure do attract attention which cant always be good
It's an incredible watch, and a friend of mine is currently looking for an all gold sub. However for me, it just felt too flashy and attention-grabbing. It's all down to personal preference and how worried you get about these things I guess.
Great choice! Great review! I myself have the tow toned black and gold Submariner. Both GMT and Sub very nice but I prefer a simpler face and bezel... Enjoy!
I really enjoyed the Rolex GMT 116713 review, very much appreciated and I totally agree with you, it is a very good dress watch and very versatile as well. I purchased the GMT SS 116710LN and I love the GMT 116713, I tried it on a few months ago in the AD, and one has to see it in person to really appreciate it. Did you purchase it NEW from an AD? Secondly what is your opinion and conclusion on the SS Daytona? Thank you very much for a professionally edited and informative review.
Hi, I reviewed the ceramic Daytona a while ago, so all my thoughts are in there. Picked up the GMT brand new and loving it :-) Thanks for your kind comment
First Welcome back great review and secondly wear it in good health very beautiful watch wish to hear your opinions on the coming days in regards of Baselworld
Apologies for the delay. Any metal will scratch, and gold even more so than Steel as it's softer. Just part of it, wear it and let it show signs of wear and tear
I have the previous (pre-ceramic model) of this watch. Bought in 2000 I think. It's in pristine condition since I only take it on international trips. I've been thinking about upgrading to the new ceramic model via a trade-in. Any thoughts on that? (I also have the Root Beer model from the mid 90s but I'm hanging on to that as a collectible). Thanks. Good channel.
Sorry I've been slow in replying. The older model is smaller, lighter and just as functional, but the newer model oozes that extra quality that makes me love it so much. You also get solid gold links instead of hollow and much better lume etc. It's horses for courses; there's no major difference and if you love yours, there's no reason to go for the new version really; just personal preference.
I’m buying one! It’s beautiful, event more so in person. I need so save some more cash but should be good by January. If you can point me in the direction of saving some money, it would be appreciated :-)
Absolutely brilliant, bought same five years ago,! have had submariner, airking etc nothing comes close,116713,fantastic watch!!👍
Never really liked 2 tone but this one and the 2 tone blue sub ....... really nice. Love the channel.
+Mr. Z Thanks, yeah I was the same but it looks much better in reality than in the video. Definitely check one out when you get chance.

+Adrian Drummond-Hill Great choices Adrian. You can never have too many 😊
Can you tell my wife that. 😂
Only if you tell my girlfriend that haha
It's a deal.

Thanks yes they'll be sorely missed but this has given me a fix for now

Thanks Stephen, yes the Sub is a previous watch I owned and I loved it
Beautiful watch! Looking forward to the reviews to come...
Thanks, already recorded a couple of others
Just bought one, beautiful
The green 24 hour hand is basically invisible. Red is the best. My blue is ok but I would love a stainless with black bezel and red 24 hour hand.
Nice time piece, thanks for sharing.
Pleasure as always Bob
Bold beautiful watch! I’m a woman and I love wearing it.
The bezel increments in one hour increments....against the gmt hand.
it looks better in real than photo!
Hi. Great video. Trying to be helpful - please review video at 8.06. The second hand jumps. Might want to check that out.
Ha! You have just explained why at the end of the video.......!!
Hi Larry, yes I sometimes review my watches without any power in them now as people always ask... just my terrible editing skills lol

Alfie.

+Ian C Thanks Ian, appreciate it 👍👍
Great vid.
Just got one, a month ago. Beautiful
Great stuff, values seem to have increased now they’ve been discontinued
First Welcome back great review and secondly wear it in good health very beautiful watch wish to hear your opinions on the coming days in regards of Baselworld
Thanks, so far there's been nothing from any manufacturer to wow me. I'm looking forward to Omega, Rolex and Seiko mostly.
Question, do you find the bracelet is made of material so it is easily scratches? Because I saw other review says so. Thx
Apologies for the delay. Any metal will scratch, and gold even more so than Steel as it's softer. Just part of it, wear it and let it show signs of wear and tear
It's remarkable
I'm tempted to buy one of these myself
Mine will be up for sale soon, so if you're in the UK you can message me on insta @watchhobbyist
Watch Hobbyist Why are you selling?

+Dutzu Miho Thanks, love this watch
Just got one of these. My brother just got the Batman. Prefer mine! Anyone know which will appreciate more? I guess the Batman?
Don't worry about the values... they'll both appreciate over time, and it's important you wear and own what YOU like.
Great video!
Cheers Alex

If you can point me in the direction of saving some money, it would be appreciated :-)
Apologies for the delay but the only way to save would be to buy used I guess. Worth making an offer to a second hand dealer.
Did you consider the blue dial bi sub?
Not a watch I like really if I'm being honest. If it's possible, the GMT is a little more understated and therefore more my style of watch.
È bello
Change job
sorry that watch is ugly in yellow gold
