- Hi Guys!
In this video I'll be taking a look at my old Sony CD Player from back in the early 90's.
The player is taking in a disc but it is not reading it & just auto ejects it out.
Be advised that you should never work anywhere near internal power supplies even if the unit is not plugged into the mains!

Much love x
I have this player too, and loved it. Two great things are that it has index-buttons and many direct jump buttons on both unit and remote. I had to replace the laser in mine... it can't be that long ago... wait... damn... it's 25 years ago. Perhaps should take it for a spin and see if it needs a new laser one more time. :)
Definitely worth another try Jorgen! 👍
posted that before i watched it through and you fixed it , by taking it apart you freed up the dirt on the switch which detects the cd , it was opeing the drive before as the switch wasnt making contact to tell the device a cd was present so it was opening up waiting for a disk even though there was a cd in , good job well done
Many thanks! I'm learning all the time & I just like to take things apart 👍 Cheers for watching!
Bien joué !!! Bravo !!!
Merci ! 👍
I just fixed my x222es Sony player and it did something similar turned out to be the ribbon cables weren’t connected properly.
Nice fix Jose! Sometimes it's just the simple things!! 👍
i remenber buying a second cd player from pioneer and having already a PD-7300 i said to my friend ,buy pioneer to which he replyed ,no Sony is better i heard it on my tv it as a beautifull sound ,so he bought it and several ways of playing one cd like 3 options of programing when inserting the text and songs he might prefer to listen till 3 ways of diferent programing ,at least it looked like this ,he after 5 monthes gave up on it ,mine both first two cd players with standart size still play today only by tunning the laser ,so sony good not even for 5 monthes and after all the pioneers had much better sound and in 93 i bought a complete ES system by components ,sold it like 7 monthes after when having problems with the tuner, cassette deck and cd player ,allthough i have to recognise that the amplification system was really good two mono independent channels and the best phono stage i heard on a non 70´s amp. but sold it the whole system in two weeks to buy a entire new nakamichi system ,again the same the stasis power amplifier was incredible good but everything else even the dragon turntable was garbage and the cassette deck 1 i kept it also either than the power amplifier but after all , bought again a entire pioneer system urushi design and all works today even the 76 system pioneer top of the line also works today with minimal maintenace
Thank you for sharing your story! 👍
there will be a tray switch which tells the unit there is a cd inserted its not detecting the disk as its not spinning it up nothing wrong with the lazer as its not spinning up
Check for a dead motor.
When it goes wrong again I'll check for that cheers!
Yes . Take the door off
