There is a misunderstanding here. When he says "I've nothing to fear" he isn't talking about the situation, he talks about death. He already almost died once, he has seen his loved ones die multiple times, death was always a possibility there is no point in being afraid of it.

Takemichi told Hina by accident when he came back from the future, he thought it was naoto he was talking to but it was Hina.
