Definitely worth putting out for someone like me with limited mobility. It shows you can get shots from the roadside

Thank you for this. Photos that I can find inspiration and give me insight as to what I can do locally. Not every video on UA-cam has to be a trip to Iceland or Tuscany.

Thats a really nice Video Paul, those last few images you put up with the Cattle in those small intake fields are great images, the mist lifted and there was more colour and detail to be seen, I am in the minority when I say I am a details Man and I don't really care for wide vistas with no detail, I never have done, but I realise I am in the Minority here, yes these Videos are worth making, all your Videos are worth making as we all pick up tips and tricks which are ultimately very helpful especially to photographers just starting out in our Hobby, best wishes, Colin.

Lovely location local to myself. Your little entrance to somewhere was the remains of an old lime kiln. There’s a very impressive example just down the road at Langcliffe called the Hoffman Kiln.

Definitely worth putting this video out Paul. Obviously you are a perfectionist but the one thing you can't change is the weather and you got the best out of what was in front of you. Preferred the image with the wall edited out. The later photos once the mist cleared a little were in my opinion the best. Well done mate 📷👏👏

Nice one Paul, second image for me with the wall leading you into the tree, not been in that area for a while some nice shots to be had, you are inspiring me to get out again. 👍

The video was definitely worth putting out Paul.
Without the wall on the right in the first two image's.
The image's that you took in the higher position i thought were better than the lower ones.
I must admit i liked nearly all of the image's.

Morning Paul, i enjoyed this one it was a nice quick video while i had a brew. I actually know first hand the conditions you are prepared to shoot in my shoes are still wet from the last time i joined you at Padly. Keep up the good work and the effort it is appreciated

Your final shot reminded me of my local landscape, although generally I much preferred the misty images.
Okay, I'm going to disagree with you on the 1/3rd of the way into the frame focusing. I picked the same idea up on a UA-cam video about 5 years ago (so it must be true) and as none of my cameras have focus peaking or anything like it and most of my lenses don't even have a depth of field preview switch I thought I'd give it a go. Several rolls of film later I binned the idea, foregrounds were usually in focus but anything beyond the middle distance is O.o.F. The truth is that this 'rule of thumb' only works if you're stopped down and even then its iffey. Then I tried calculating the hyperfocal distance. I knew the formula (fstop/ focal length/distance to subject) in my head and with the help of the calculator on my phone hey presto .... I should focus exactly there. Total pants, wasted several films - I did try it with digital as well, same results.
Gradually it dawned on me, none of these calculations work in the field with all cameras/lenses; so what does ....
1- Decide what the main subject of the photo is (have an appropriate iso for the scene).
2- Open your lens up as wide as it goes.
3- Get focus on the nearest part of the main subject (presuming its not the length of a battleship).
4- Change your aperture depending on what depth of field you want.
5- Set your shutter speed to achieve the correct exposure (presuming you are shooting landscape and not a cheetah chasing a gazelle).
It guarantees what you want the viewer to look at is in focus. Works every time; the only time I've ever buggered up is by not changing my aperture after I've focused and overexposed a frame.

Was this worth putting out? I would say that it was. There is a risk, especially for new photographers (I am just over my first year with the hobby), that we see UA-cam photographers getting perfect light, perfect conditions and wonderful locations every time. I work full time, don't live in a photogenic part of the country, so I get Saturday morning regardless of weather, and I get mostly local sites. Seeing a UA-cam photographer getting less than ideal conditions, and seeing what they do with it is actually helpful. And to see that you are less than happy with some output is good too.

you sound like me, i started this channel to be honest and real, i dont get the likes and i dont get the following as i show it all... it hurts my channel so much as i am not seen as a great photographer, if you only show the best you look better... but i like the honesty i offer
