Yep, I had a cool desk job! Getting up early in the mornings, going out to the jet, running pre-flight checks for an hour, launching the jet out and recovering it when it finishes it's flight. Then spending 3 hours on a Basic Post Flight inspection including donning coveralls and climbing into the exhause of the engines. Finally finishing up after a 12 hour day if I'm lucky and don't have to fix anything broken on the jet. Yep, I loved my desk job in the Air Force.
I like the guy at 2:02 because it sounded like he went through 5 cue cards. "Always fun...watching the new guy...try to parallel park...a C-130...Hercules." haha
@SpAgent108- You and your grandfather are the kind of people who keep this country strong. Thanks to your grandfather and you in advance for your service.
Priceless. I was half way thru college when blasted diabetes ended my USAF career before it could begin, but I am glad it's in such good hands. 'God Bless the USAF. And chix do dig jets.
@10oner the air force enlisted is mainly made up of technicians, we're normally not in a situation that require us to fight unless you are special forces, like you listed, or security forces. but we do lend a hand to the army quite often so you could technically be a jet mechanic working alongside a ranger in a convoy for a year in the desert. ask a recruiter about getting into specific career fields. First, you must qualify of a job with your asvab scores, then pass tech school.
@goddamnbouy just to let you know, Mr. Expert, when the Air Force switched to the current Service Blues in the 1990s, they eliminated the Enlisted U.S. insignia however, that was unpopular and the Enlisted insignia returned about 2 years ago but this video was posted 3 years ago
Sorry to inform you, but you're wrong. IN 1994, the Air Force took away the circle insignia for enlisted, and we all wore just a plain U.S. insignia. Then in 2008, it was restored to the way it used to be, with enlisted wearing a circle insignia.
Thats awesome! Im in the DEP right now. leave for bmt aug 5th at lackland then keesler for atc tech school then i want to go to ramstein germany so pretty cool
That's where I'm wanting to go, too so I can practice my German more. But I'm going into ROTC at OSU so I can have a better shot at becoming a pilot while I attend one of the US's top ten flight schools.
Every branch rags on another, its just service to service fun. We all need eachother, we all serve different roles all for one main purpose, Defense of our nation, and that is what we all do.
@Omatusano Good luck. Glad to hear more people are thinking about joining the Air Force. I, myself, am joining. I'll be heading to MEPS in a few weeks to get my proccessing finished and swear in. What job were you looking into?
@SpAgent108 Outstanding! Thank your Grandpa for me. I just want to warn you to take the things the recruiter says with a "grain of salt." They will do their best to tell you what they want you to hear while still telling you what you want to hear. But, I don't want to deter you, just be aware that once you go active things may or may not be as your recruiter told you.
Probably taking it back to the closest base to there house if it's even that close. .. That's only cool though if your a pilot in the officer side. Most people in the AF don't even fly.. Unless your a boomer, or going on TDY's which most tdy's go to crew chiefs
ya very good grades especialy in math and science. also athletics probably help out a lot and you have to get a letter signed by a guy i forgot who sorry. its a very hard school to get into
how often do you guys get shot at like compared to infantry and why is it that everyone in pj or tacp jtac looks older also how hard is it to get into this
Dustin Peters who I personally served with, and Amn Andersonn who I went to tech school with and who replaced me. Plus others who weren't on tour with me. Oh yeah, Vehicle Operations, Vehicle maintenance run with us as well. And how is 79 KIA's not that bad? If 79 friends and family members of yours were killed, would you say the same?
haha wow I grew up there, frankfurt, ramstein and sembach, in germany, the air force is in my blood that why I'm pilot at 19, the military is in my head, (reason, I date men in uniforms), and germany is in my heart, so that why I'm coming back there after 9 years. Go Air force wooo
ok so this was so saddening to watch, but i have to say #1 had to be the best one. In fact where did they find these people? ive been in ramstein for almost 3 years and never seen any of these people
you say fighter pilot like you can just walk in and be like " i wanna fly that f-22 right there" and the recruiter says " sure thing. here are the keys " . . . im trying to be a naval pilot and its no easy task buddy... i hope i get in to ocs as it is .
haha. Yeahh. I'm surprised that the percentage is that high. Perhaps 15% of officers are pilots? As for getting a 99...I've always just been fortunate with standardized test taking. (:
ahahahaha all of you are hilarious. NUMBER 11. being security forces and staring at one side of a plane for 16 hours a day with eight hours of crew rest before you have to be back in to work for your 4 am shift. working true panamas (3 on 3 off 2 on 2 off.) where they call you in on your off days. The real air force.
hahaha a friend of mine, took the asvab, and didn't get enough points to join. tried again later on and had a worst score than before. hahaha. then again i'm talking about an individual the had a "D" in a basic multiplication / division test. Hope everything goes well and you get what you want and deserve. bye bye :)
Served 1982-84 at Ramstein Air Base
1964 Communications Group
Always Proud and Lucky to have been
Called Airman.

#1 for me is being able to say, "Been there, done that"
I like the guy at 2:02 because it sounded like he went through 5 cue cards. "Always fun...watching the new guy...try to parallel park...a C-130...Hercules." haha

Score a 93 or above on the ASVAB and you'll get one of your Top3 jobs. I got a 99 and got one of mine. Love it, too.

I agree with you. but some jobs your in the air but not as the pilot. Like a boom operator for the KC-135.

You're looking at a guy with one million frequent flyer miles. excellent.

@Omatusano Good luck. Glad to hear more people are thinking about joining the Air Force. I, myself, am joining. I'll be heading to MEPS in a few weeks to get my proccessing finished and swear in. What job were you looking into?

#1 - top gun!!!
@Omatusano just remember if you do end up doing worse the second score stays. I am also planning on joining the air force.
@SpAgent108 Outstanding! Thank your Grandpa for me. I just want to warn you to take the things the recruiter says with a "grain of salt." They did away with the enlisted U.S. insignia a couple of years ago. They said we all serve the same country.
haha wow I grew up there, frankfurt, ramstein and sembach, in germany, the air force is in my blood that why I'm pilot at 19, the military is in my head, (reason, I date men in uniforms), and germany is in my heart, so that why I'm coming back there after 9 years. Go Air force wooo
@goddamnbouy Maybe it's from awhile back when we all had the same U.S. insignia?
My son just left for basic!
ok so this was so saddening to watch, but i have to say #1 had to be the best one. In fact where did they find these people? ive been in ramstein for almost 3 years and never seen any of these people

Id kill for a posting to Germany!
Why was the first Tech. Sgt. wearing officer U.S. insignia on his dress blues?
AMMO. That's all.
I am in the Air Force. Why is this not even slightly funny/ relate-able to me?
chicks dig planes! lol
being in the air force, i disagree the previous comment. shefall13 is ignorant to what's actually going on. on the other hand, i loved the video.
ahahahaha all of you are hilarious. NUMBER 11. being security forces and staring at one side of a plane for 16 hours a day with eight hours of crew rest before you have to be back in to work for your 4 am shift. working true panamas (3 on 3 off 2 on 2 off.) where they call you in on your off days.
