    When you consider that Eastwood is a notorious 'one and done' director who believes in preparing hard and not doing multiple takes unless something technical goes wrong, the performances in Invictus are truly astonishing. Lightning in a bottle.

      Morgan Freeman and Clint Eastwood has worked together "a few times" in the past, they're on the same page.
      The one who probably had more problems with it would have been Matt Damon, just purely because it's a very different way of filming.

    I love how basically half the South African team spent 90 minutes gunning for Lomu alone. Just tells you how much of a legend the guy was. RIP Jonah Lomu. The best rugby player in history, and btw, I'm South African.

      I think us South Africans can appreciate what a legend Lomu was because they are one of the few teams who has always played with utter soul and dedication. There's the same vibe with other nations in cricket.

    Man that speech by Madiba was so well thought out and written;
    Notice he said "Naver again will this beautiful country experience the oppression of one over another"
    Nothing about race religion, class or anything in there, no1 person should be oppressed by any other.
    We need a leader and ministers now who can recall and reciprocate his view.
    Honestly as a person of colour the only other person in the limelight anywhere you can tell obviously shares that view and wisdom; Rassie - the coach who lead us to championship in 2019, he appointed players on merit, players I didn't even like before (Damion de Allende, Lukhanyo Am) he brought out the best in them and they gave him their best effort. The guy's wise and he's colour blind

      To go through all he did and come out with his spirit... he is truly an inspiration to the world. I rate that man higher than Ghandi. No lie.

    It took me a long time getting over South Africa beating Australia in the group stages 😅
    Being 10 at the time, the greater significance of the Boks winning the final went over my head till Pienaar said “We didn't have 60,000 South Africans, we had 43 million South Africans.” which i remember being quite moved by.

    Do 'Das Wunder Von Berne'. In 1954 West Germany was still a nation trying to come to terms with and move on from the Nazi regime. It's Football team went to the '54 Switzerland World Cup not really expecting much, especially after getting destroyed by the mighty Hungarians in the group stages. Against the odds, the Germans won through to the final where they were expected to be nothing more than bit-part players for the great Hungarian team to be finally crowned World Champions. It didn't work out that way and has often been cited in Germany as the true day the nation properly emerged from the war.

    Of course being 5, I didn't understand the whole apartheid thing, though I noticed you only see white people on tv, not in person unless it was a cop
