      I believe they made it, too. Those guys were quite intelligent and weren't your average convicted dummy. If I'm not mistaken, I think I watched a documentary years ago that said the one guy (Frank, I think) had a genius level IQ. Hell, they had to have been fairly intelligent just to pull off the initial escape.
      I believe they made it but the authorities try to say they didn't because they wanted to save face. Don't want to admit that the "inescapable Alcatraz" was, in fact escapable.

    I was at Alcatraz in 1982 on a tour of the facility. Our guide was an former employee of Alcatraz when the prison was operating and during 62 escape. He told us that Morris had stole pounds and pounds of lard from the kitchens. The three men covered their entire bodies as a protection against hypothermia. He was convinced they all three made it

      The FBI suppressed a report for 50 years, in which 3 sets of footprints and a stolen car was recorded on Angel Island. Plus other bits of evidence here and there. There more or less has been a conspiracy to maintain how infallible and perfect the Justice Department is in the USA even doubling down on harsh and wrong punishments meted out to unfortunate and disadvantaged people.

    Ive always been facinated with the escape over the years and watched so many documentaries on it, im sure all 3 of them made it that night, 1) no bodies were found, 2) foot prints were found on angel island aswel as the raft, 3) on the night a vehicle was reported stolen 4) fred brizzie met them and also pictures were taken 5) john anglin did send a letter couple years ago while suffering from cancer and wanting treatment but this was not looked into. Maybe the government didnt want to start this whole thing again as they covered it up saying they swept away into the atlantic ocean.

      Well the documentary didn't exactly do a good job at showing otherwise. Mostly it was making assumptions throughout and that's not scientific. If they want to make a case with science they need to remove the assumptions and weasel words. They made statements that are factually incorrect. Someone did make it to shore from Alcatraz alive. They said this is not possible but it is. A prisoner did. He was taken back there but he made it to shore which this documentary states otherwise. It is a lie even if unintentional.

    This is contradicting another documentary I saw about the Alcatraz escape. In that one a gentleman said that the mile and a half from Alcatraz to San Francisco had been swam without issue on many occasions. He also said there are no Great White Sharks in San Francisco Bay and never have been. Also a San Francisco police officer said he spotted a boat in the water and that after a few minutes it's engine's were started and it went out past the Golden Gate Bridge

    Watched many documentaries on this now. Unlikely a boat was waiting for them, too much effort was made into making the raft and stealing the rubber jackets to make it. Heading for angel island would have been impossible in the raft against the current. There are two possibilities as I see it - either the raft held up or it didn’t - but either way the current took them to the Golden Gate Bridge - if they made it there with the raft intact then they may have survived and hence no bodies found. If the raft sank it and the bodies would have drifted with the current out to the Pacific Ocean - equally explaining why no bodies nor raft were found.

  • @austinballard6815

    I am fairly sure the two Anglin brothers survived the crossing....as for Frank Morris, I think it was his body that was seen floating in the bay by that Norwegian freighter the next day (no body recovered but reported to authorities wearing blue like the uniforms inmates had). Either Morris drowned in the attempt or was killed some other way, maybe even deliberately. Over the years, there has been evidence presented that would suggest the brothers survived and went to Brazil by the early 1970s. Morris is never accounted for and thus I think he didn't make it.

    • @s.j.johnson1961
      @s.j.johnson1961 2 місяці тому +1

      That body was viewed over a month later and not reported until the Fall. There is speculation that it was someone who jumped off of the Golden Gate Bridge a few days earlier, so I don’t think it was Morris. It seems unlikely he’d still be floating on the surface after all that time.

    If it was me I would have left behind items, that would appear to the lawmen, to be of sentimental significance to myself as a means of possibly giving the impression that they were found because I didn’t make it. They seemed to be so resilient and water tight that they floated, almost as if they made sure they were sealed so good that they floated and therefore would be found instead of sinking. It’s possible they made as much as it is that they died. But the current and undertow of the region would make it seem like if they were eaten partially by sharks or drowned then at some point some evidence of their bodies would have washed up on shore somewhere at some point, but it never happened.

    What I think happend is that the three of them fought over the inflatable somewhere along the way. It would've been impossible to coordinate synchronized kicking and paddling with three people laying on top of it. It was said that a Norwegian freightliner spotted a floating body with prison garb on the day after. Maybe he was pushed off the inflatable some where at a half way point. Or even maybe one overtook the two and claimed the inflatable to himself. The letter received was from one person in 2018. Did the other two perish in the water? Or did one swim the rest of the way? But someone made it I can tell you that.

A police officer did spot an unidentified boat floating near Alcatraz that night around 1:00 AM. If one person was never found, I’d agree that he probably drowned, but three? It seems like at least one of them would have surfaced and been found during that massive manhunt.

    The only way they could have survived is if they were picked up, purely by chance, by a passing boat. If this did happen, it couldn't have been arranged inside the prison, because all incoming/outgoing mail and all visits were carefully vetted/scrutinized. A passing boat rescue would have been sheer luck, pure coincidence.

    • @iamthepapi6251
      @iamthepapi6251 10 місяців тому +1

      That's exactly what happened but it wasn't a passerby it was somebody waiting.
      I heard that on a different video and it was from a coast guard that was out there and seen the lights of a boat idling, then the lights turned off and then they turned back on and left....
      Plus there was never any bodies and the bodies would have showed up before anything from the material of the boat or anyting else. 😊

    • @derekfraser7397
      @derekfraser7397 10 місяців тому

      How could a coastguard have been waiting for them, either on land or in a boat? Like I said, no contact could have been made with an outsider from inside Alcatraz. If they weren't picked up by a passing boat, purely by luck, they succumbed to hyperthermia and their bodies washed out under the golden gate bridge, into the vastness of the Pacific Ocean, and that's why they were never found.

      Where do you see me saying a coastguard pick them up LOL.
      Come on bro make it make sense...
      I said that a coast guard reported that there was a boat out there. And I didn't mean to say Coast guard I meant to say a cop...
      It's common knowledge. San Francisco cop reported that between Angel Island and Alcatraz there was a boat on that night at that time.
      And it's also common knowledge that Jim Morris is cousin has admitted to paying off in Alcatraz correctional officer a bunch of money to get them what they need etc.
      So before you go arguing with me and getting personal with me about something that has nothing to do with me or you,
      Just please make sure you know what you're talkin about and make sure you can actually read.
      I mean why would somebody say that the Coast guard pick them up LOL?? Wtf. That makes zero sense that's not even a rational thought...

    • @iamthepapi6251

      @@derekfraser7397 I've obviously done more research on this than you....
      Jim's cousin admitted to paying an Alcatraz correctional officer money in large amounts more than a few times...
      He said if they want to come drag an old man like him he was on his deathbed to prison that may can go ahead and do it..
      Dude the picture of the brothers from Brazil, the photo that they claim is the Anglin Brothers is definitely them.
      One had blonde hair and one had dark hair..
      The government even had several agencies that were professional at age enhancement and one of them said that there's a chance it's them but it's slim and I think more than one agency said that it's more than likely the Anglins in that picture.
      Now another thing.... The Anglins also had a younger brother that was beat to death in prison for not giving up dority's information about where those men from Alcatraz escaped to...
      They exhumed the body to get the DNA to try to match it to the letter that was written to the FBI..
      Family okayed it because they wanted to have an autopsy done so they know if he was beaten or electricuted like the authorities said he was. They said he got electrocuted by trying to escape over the fence,
      But someone else with knowledge of the situation told the family that they beat him to death.
      And there's several people from the backwoods of Georgia and Florida that say these guys lived in Florida after the escape and then went to the Brazil because it got hot...
      You can find people on these videos in the comments who are very old people who say this. Lol.
      Now I know that you can't believe everything that people say but one of these people I was reading last night but they were saying and there's just no way they are lying.
      There's way more evidence pointing towards that making it then there is them not making it...
      And it's always going to be interesting too because I think if they did make it they are dead by now....
      That's why you kind of got to take Jim Morris's cousin at his word when he tells you that he paid Alcatraz guards so the three men could have the information and materials they needed.
      Brother I don't know if you know this but all across this country of the United States there are guards that are being paid right now. That's how cell phones get into prison.
      Every single day a guard gets caught man,
      I mean it's not hard for me to believe...

    • @derekfraser7397
      @derekfraser7397 10 місяців тому +1

      Yes I've seen that picture of 2 men in Brazil, it could have been them. If so, they and Frank Morris must have gotten new identities, fake passports, and maybe plastic surgery as well. We know prison guards couldn't have smuggled cell phones into Alcatraz because they didn't exist way back then. But there could have been a corrupt guard or two who did aid their escape, it's possible. But if that was the case, very little has ever been spoken about it.

    My idea is that they didn't make it out of San Francisco Bay. Not one of their bodies were found, but Seymour Webb's body wasn't found either. Webb jumped off the Golden Gate about the same time the escapees were in the water. I doubt if all three of them could have lived the rest of their lives without re-offending. Items associated with the escape were found floating in bay and on Cronkite Beach, which suggests the raft sank. I have a hunch that the gunwale of the raft was not high enough out of the water and the raft flooded from the choppy waves. The ebb tide made swimming to safety unlikely.

    • @jamesmcbeth4463
      @jamesmcbeth4463 5 місяців тому +1

      Or the raft could have been hit by an outgoing ship. Supposedly, they recovered what was left of a wooden paddle after it was damaged by something, and they recovered shreds of rubber that could have been from the raft. They also found a deflated life vest.

    • @jamesmcbeth4463
      @jamesmcbeth4463 3 місяці тому

      The Anglins did not build the raft as Morris designed it. Morris designed it to have four pontoons but the Anglins built with only three. Morris was very angry about that, claiming that the raft would be too unstable. He was probably right about that. It also would have been less buoyant.

    Most of what I heard in this is weasel words and blatant assumptions without as much evidence as they claim. They didn't really investigate whether the raft could have survived. They just assumed it didn't and went after that. And one person at the end said there's no way to get to shore alive? Then what about the case where a prisoner made it to shore alive and was taken back to Alcatraz? Did they take his body back to a cell? Of course not. He was alive. Not conscious enough (if at all?) to escape beyond it but it's possible to make it to land which this documentary claim is not true. But clearly it is true that one can make it. If they weren't a prisoner but instead a person lost there (for some crazy reason) they would have gone on to live their life in civilisation. But this itself shows a major flaw of the documentary's methodology.
    Hard to make it to shore yes but not impossible. But the will to survive is incredible. These people testing things are not in the same situation. It's certainly possible that they drowned and maybe even probable but that's if they didn't have a raft that survived or won't picked up by another boat - which is another possibility.
    This documentary just made a lot of assumptions and repeated those assumptions almost as if they were fact, even doing scientific studies. But science doesn't make assumptions. When science starts making assumptions it is no longer science.. It has scientific aspects but it is breaking away from how science works and it cannot be trusted as much.
    Science and assumptions are mutually exclusive.

    They never had a chance, because their giant metal balls would have drug them to the bottom of SF Bay, lmfao. All kidding aside, it's an amazing thought to think they made it. If they had, I'd be so happy for them. But there's just no way they could've. Sure all this looks great, but gotta factor in what it took to even get down to the waters edge, physically speaking. A makeshift raft isn't cutting it in that Bay. At best, they were quickly whisked out under the Golden Gate bridge and into the Pacific Ocean.

      I’ve swam before and I’m lifeguard trained. Listen the rough water swimmer is going to remain calm cause they have every advantage of knowing they can quit and they have experience as well as it being 4 degrees warmer and during the day. The escapees aren’t experienced and they may freak out sapping their energy and maybe even dragging each other down.
      I had a friend nearly drown before because someone took them under in their panic of not being able to swim. Scary stuff and it makes lifeguarding hard as you can try to save someone and that person could accidentally kill you.

      It’s because presumably they lost the life jackets. Or they weren’t effective like the raft. It’s hard to say. Either way the jackets were recovered. The jackets also wouldn’t protect you from hypothermia.
      They also do account for the life jackets in the drifting experiments as they launch the dummy with and without it to similar results.
