Congrats!!!🤗🤗👍
Such a wonderful performance of a wonderful piece, and one that has special meaning to me, since it is the very first thing I heard you perform.
I had praised a lovely performance of this same same movement by @Beatrice Berrut and @Camille Thomas, and @Matt Vaughan replied to my comment and suggested you. I listened to this piece by you, and immediately loved it. I called your performance a revelation, and then he suggested other works which I also loved. The whole conversation is preserved in the UA-cam comments on that performance, ua-cam.com/video/Nzj9fnh9OOk/v-deo.html, and it started my love of the double bass, which I had not listened to much before, and my love of your performances.
This piece exemplifies your way of bringing out so many emotions as you play. Your use of the very low tones of the double bass can be sad or solemn, and you also make magic with the higher notes, making it sound gentle and peaceful, and even happy.
Ever since I heard this, I have listened to everything by you that I can find. Thank you. 🤩 😍
Another recording of the complete sonata that you might like is the one by Yoosin Park and Ilya Rashkovskiy from their "White Night" album. I really like it!
@@ModusVivendiMedia Thanks for the excellent recommendation! I have not got 'white night' yet, but I found the same players performing the same piece on Tomato Classic, and I love it. Thanks so much.
@@juliandolby I think that's where I first saw it too!
