Professor Jason, I have wondered how people who have learned another language by watching TV; process what they heard, to a meaning or to a written word ; ie : English subtitles to Spanish TV show, sure i can repeat the sounds, but to register each sound or word to specific meaning, is where I tend to have trouble. BTW: i have watching your UA-cam videos at 50% to hear the sounds broken down, my Spanish teacher at Harper College about 10 years ago told the class of your videos.
What if there are two characters that are not dialoguing but rather one is doing the off voice that is narrating the video while the other is actually visible? Should I still dash each?
Very practical recap, thank you. But it would maybe be wise to reshoot with a good mike, the audio kept on falling away and there was a part with much background noise.

Super interesting!

ok its so funny that this doesn't have captions so my hearing processing is going NUTS trying to understand whats being said
Yeah... kind of ironic that I didn't caption this one! Sorry! But I think UA-cam's automatic CC will work alright.
Also, my apologies for the terrible audio... I had no idea my mic was cutting in and out :(
@@Professorjason no worries! Thanks a lot for this video, was really interesting to watch!
Professor, I have a question. If we want to show two languages on the screen, what do we do in order that the subtitle is not too long?
thank you so much.
Sorry but could not understand what is capturing means ?
DO voice overs that are being subtitled need to be in Italics?
Good question. That would be my recommendation... For example, in their Timed Text Guidelines, Netflix required italics for "narration."
This video needs subtitles because the audio cuts in and out.
Yeah, you're right. Sorry for the bad audio
Good lecture … with terrible audio !!
Thanks, and I apologize for the audio. My PC audio driver was not working well :(
