My dad whom passed away many years ago was a devoted lover of pigeons, he also had some rare breeds, this brings some memories of when I was a child! Brooke, you are such a good mom to "interview" MaryCarl. She seems really shy in other videos but with your encouragement, she really opened up to provide so much knowledge about her birds. I never knew there were so many types of pigeons and she did great discussing the various types and what they were bred for. I loved the powder pigeons and their poofy chests - and the fact that they have more than one "husband" or "wife" was interesting too. I thought all pigeons selected one mate. Very interesting. I loved PipSqueak too. My grandparents lived in Louisiana and we'd hear the bobwhite quail calling in the woods and pastures near their house. Thank you MaryCarl for today's lesson on animal husbandry in the pigeon species. Excellent job! 🙂🐣🐣
Totally agree....I think Mary Carl has forgotten more about birds than most of us know...interviewing her is a great way to remind her that her audience has no idea about the things she knows and is eager to learn the things she will share about her birds. Those Archangel Pigeons are beautiful . I never knew they existed! MC has a great great future with that depth of knowledge!

So true she’s also learned about genetics and how to breed for characteristics that are desirable and how to get them by selective breeding. Just amazing. And also makes a lot more sense to people or children who want to learn but have some difficulty in school and regular teaching methods
@@gabesmom5615 This is just my experience but I feel the academics of education are vital. However there is very little in the way of career development or nurturing. She is being educated not only in the academics but also in agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry. At least from an observation standpoint she is learning machine operation and maintenance. Problem solving skills. This young lady's future is being carefully crafted and sculpted to have many choices.

I was raised in the country and hearing a Bobwhite was a beautiful sound for me. I miss that sound now that I live in the city so hearing peep squeak sing today was awesome!! Beautiful video. I learned a lot about our feathered friends. Love you guys!!!
I grew up just south of central Indiana. The Bobwhites call was always in the background of bird songs, where I lived. It's one of the things that reminds me of home.

Oh my, thanks for sharing! I kept hearing the little quail before you ever showed it. I knew you either had one as a pet or there were some wild ones close around. Daddy taught me how to call out to the quail out in the wild and they would call back to you❤️❤️❤️

Just finished watching Crockers UA-cam video and Jason just found 2 parakeets fly on his ranch. They were thinking of just releasing them after they rest. But his twin just went to town to get a cage and food for them. God bless you from Michigan ❤️
I LOVE listening to MaryCarl talk about her birds. I used to own a bird shop and I researched many types of birds in great depth but she seems to have so much knowledge in so many areas that I could easily see her becoming an avian vet. Those are few and far between. She seems to love it so much that I'm sure it would never seem like work to her.
How fun that would have been. When I was working in the hospital as a nurse one of my patients raised English Budgies. I went to visit his set up. Had set up his garage as indoor and outdoor aviary. I was so impressed I started raising some in my basement. Ha ha actually it was my parents basement since I still lived at home. I really learned a lot about genetics. Stuff I didn’t really grasp so well in school

I was raised in the country and hearing a Bobwhite was a beautiful sound for me. I miss that sound now that I live in the city so hearing peep squeak sing today was awesome!! Beautiful video. I learned a lot about our feathered friends. Love you guys!!!
I grew up just south of central Indiana. The Bobwhites call was always in the background of bird songs, where I lived. It's one of the things that reminds me of home.

Oh my, thanks for sharing! I kept hearing the little quail before you ever showed it. I knew you either had one as a pet or there were some wild ones close around. Daddy taught me how to call out to the quail out in the wild and they would call back to you❤️❤️❤️
One of my favorite videos ever! I plan to share it with my daughter in law… she homeschools our three granddaughters. This week they are learning about birds and butterflies. I learned so much and so will they. Great job!

I’m so impressed by MaryCarl’s knowledge about her birds, no matter the type of bird. I had a pigeon, named Skipper, a long time ago. She and I would talk, while I was feeding and watering her. It was great!

Just finished watching Crockers UA-cam video and Jason just found 2 parakeets fly on his ranch. They were thinking of just releasing them after they rest. But his twin just went to town to get a cage and food for them. God bless you from Michigan ❤️
I LOVE listening to MaryCarl talk about her birds. I used to own a bird shop and I researched many types of birds in great depth but she seems to have so much knowledge in so many areas that I could easily see her becoming an avian vet. Those are few and far between. She seems to love it so much that I'm sure it would never seem like work to her.
How fun that would have been. When I was working in the hospital as a nurse one of my patients raised English Budgies. I went to visit his set up. Had set up his garage as indoor and outdoor aviary. I was so impressed I started raising some in my basement. Ha ha actually it was my parents basement since I still lived at home. I really learned a lot about genetics. Stuff I didn’t really grasp so well in school
