In 1985 I watched a Koehring 1266D doing deep excavation at a NJ construction project. The project was a waste transfer station in the meadowlands area. The huge Koehring was digging a massive pit. The machine was digging to a depth of just shy of 40 feet and loading a small fleet of Euclid and Caterpillar rigid haul trucks.That was one of the most impressive sights I’ve ever seen pertaining to heavy equipment.
