- Space vector modulation (SVM), also known as space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM), is a common technique in field-oriented control for induction and permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM). SVM generates the pulse width modulated signals to control the switches of a three-phase inverter, which then generates the three-phase voltages required to drive the motor at a desired speed or torque. In this video, you’ll learn how SVM can generate a voltage vector at any given angle and magnitude by alternating between basic and null vectors. The video also compares space vector modulation to sinusoidal PWM (SPWM) which is another commonly used method for motor control.

This is pure gold. Clear, well structured and straight to the point. Great great job!
Two semesters in college was not enough to explain that matter that clearly, thank you for this video, Pure gold!!
The greatest explanation ever
One of the best SVPWM video I have visited! Good Job..
Thank you!
Good job! It helps me to understand the inductive flyback by animation.
Wonderful explanation.....Simple and very easy to understand.
What a nice class! Congrats!!!
Thank you very much for very clear and educative videos.
Can you ans one doubt? pls
in customized SVPWM, the PWM Generater takes "Vabc and Vdc" as input and we attach SVPWM after Inverse Park Transform block which gives "Valpha and Vbeta" as output so how and what to attach to SVPWM then?
It probably would be helpful if you show how the resultant vector is comprised of adjacent vectors that vary in magnitude as the resultant vector sweeps through a sector, such that scaled vector can be added head to tail.

congratulations! excellent content.
Thank you! Useful information and very well explained.
Excellent efforts, thank you..!
well appreciated
Really great content
Great woman
Thank you very much
Great job!!!
Very good madom
Useful information
Good.
great,keep going on
Can u please make tutorial series on sensorless bldc control?
漂亮 ,有智慧,喜欢
Very nice ..!!
Nice explanation
Wonderful information
I did not understand if the red means switch is off then how in the on time duration calculation it is actually the opposite?
She intends to show you that the pink is comprised of the two red ON one at a time and soetes both off. Her animation could be clearer if she shows the duty cycle of the red vectors by their lengths, not by flashing them in time.
yes, it looks like red should mean that the switch is on. Probably a little mistake?
ablam cok iyisin🧠
Nice explanation. Can anybody tell what animation software is used here for creating vector movement?
Maybe java

please give us information about harmonic content of SVM generated voltages. because I saw that I have considerable amount of third harmonic in my output voltage.
The 3rd in the V_LN cancels in the V-LL.
Could/would you use this kind of modulation to hold the motor on a specific angle?
If the motor were not moving, you just apply a stationay vector (not rotating = 0hz) that applies an equal and opposite force against the outside force that would otherwise tend to move the rotor. Move to the -Q axis (or change 180deg or just change the sign of the command) to apply force in the opposite direction. All the while, you need to track the motor's position to stay in sync with its axis (d,q) if it moves.
Best
Madam can you please explain changing of rotation by space vector modulation
You just change the sign of the Q command so the commanded vector position changes 180 deg.
