👍 hi from Russia 🙋 that's a great selection of books) I loooove when people from other countries talk about our literature. That's where unique insights come from 🙃

Thank you! My first love of literature sparked by reading Russian literature. I used to speak the language too. I love 19th century Russian classics. Haven’t read much new novels though.

I'm from Mexico 🇲🇽. My comment arrives to late, but just wanted to say that I also love Russian literature, and my favorite Russian author, and my favorite writer of all time is also Dostoiévski ❤️. Congratulations on your video, your channel and your literature preferences 👍🏻

Like you, I am not hooked to the literature of one country, I enjoy the different flavours that exist in the world. I have recently read 'Three Daughters of Eve' by the Turkish writer Elif Shafak. Her book '40 Rules of Love' seems to be doing great waves. Thanks again for your site.

    Fantastic videos.
I've just started my novel writing journey and need to read novels that i wouldn't normally consider, to take me out of my comfort zone.

Hi! You upload amazing videos. They are like therapy for me. If you're still interested in discovering literature of new countries, you can try something from Belarus. (my homecountry). Its literaure is young (modern Belarussain literature started to evolve only on the border of 19 and 20 centuries) but it is very peculiar and different from Russsian. Gives a completely different vibe. I can't recommend a particular story because i don't know how well it is translated into english and available and also my knowledge of it is more than poor. (i have mostly read russian authors.) Classic Belorussian authors who wrote proze include Vasyl Bykov, Volodimir Korotkevitc and Kuzma Chorny - all 20 century (but there are many more). Also we have Svetlana Alexievich (who won a nobel prize for literature).

Thanks a lot for your reviews! It's a great pleasure to hear you because there are so much love to our literature in your words! It's very valuable to spread peace and love through knowledge as you're doing ♥️♥️♥️
I wonder have you ever read Nikolai Leskov? His unique writing style is magic to me. The Enchanted Wanderer is like a concentrate of cruel tricks of fate, but author shows us that indefatigable spirit can stand all sufferings if only there is a strong faith in the heart ♥️

Guzel Yakhina is a great writer. I believe she will be awarded the Nobel Prize in literature in the coming years. All of her books (translated into more than 30 languages) are amazing. My favorite is "Zuleikha Opens Her Eyes".

Your prodigious interest in literature is admirable. I recently re-read one of my favorites:" Hunger" by Knut Hamsun, who was Norwegian.

For the travel to my Country, Italy, I can suggest some books that I've loved to read. I'm not a great fan of italian literature, maybe because I was obliged to study it a lot, sometimes memorizing, maybe because I like to discover other countries through the lens of foreign authors. Nevertheless, my suggestions are ''The Mill on the Po'' by Riccardo Bacchelli and two books written by Umberto Eco (that I love): the very famous - at least here in Italy - ''The Name of the Rose'' and the less known ''Baudolino''. Last but not least, a woman, Dacia Maraini with his ''The silent Duchess'', that is ''La lunga vita di Marianna Ucria'' (the long life of Marianna Ucria). Those are the first titles that jumped out of my memory, but I'll keep on searching in that dusty and over-crowded storage.

"How much land does a man need" that story along with "The Necklace" have been the two most effectively horrifying stories I've ever read.

Do you The Leopard a novel by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa? It’s a favorite of mine. He is a Sicilian writer. There are many others, Verga, Pirandello, Sciascia to name only a few.
