Soup mix with dried beans, barley lentils Etc. In the slow cooker with some stock, or stock cubes leftover veggies or any veggies you have chopped or grated. Spices to taste. Makes a great soup that is hearty or filling. Can serve with bread or toast or dumplings or scones. You could also add some beef or chicken ham or bacon if you have it
Hi Lizzy. Happy Thanksgiving. The best "pickled" onions recipe that I have to share with you is to pickle onions in homemade italian dressing. Here's how: slice onion in half first, pull off onion's outer skin, then slice each half to get onion slices that look like semi- circles. Homemade Italian dressing recipe: In a jar with a tight fitting lid, pour in ¼C water, ⅓C vinegar, ½C vegetable oil, then add a packette of dried Italian dressing mix, which is about 3 Tbsps of dried mix. Shake jar vigorously until thoroughly mixed. In another jar: Pack onion slices into a glass pickling jar until quite full. Pour Italian dressing to cover the onions. Anytime you make a sandwich, a submarine sandwich, or a hoagie, try these onions on top. (It's okay to toast your sandwich or sub with these onions on top.) It really does take your sandwiches to a whole new level. (Note, this will taste better after a day because it takes a while to thoroughly meld all the flavors together.)
@@frugallizzybee Do you know where we can purchase Italian dressing seasoning packets in the uk? I’ve yet to come across them and the on line shopping companies are extremely expensive, I can’t afford them!
Hi Lizzy hope you don't mind me asking but what's changed your situation then, because I've been watching you shop and counting the pennies every week and now you're saying I've been in that position . Also are you still able to get to your allotment from where you are now. And what will happen to the cat where you were. Sorry not being nosy just love your channel.
Do you mean absolutely skint? Yep I've been there. I started making more money, things got better. Things got more expensive again, I was skint again. So I got more money coming in, I cut down everything I could started putting bits of money and food away, save every penny I can. I've just taken on another 2 cleaning jobs because things are going up again (easier now my son is older and can walk home from school). Yep my allotment is just down the road and the little cat is doing fine 🙂💕
Your lounge looks cosy and I like your throw on your sofa can I ask where you bought it please? as I’m looking for a large throw to cover mine. To keep the heat in at night get some thermal curtains across the doors into the conservatory. Frozen Quorn products are often quite cheap and I’ve used the mince and the chicken chunks in pasta dishes. A large jacket potato makes a filling meal too even with just butter/margarine. Beans on toast, scrambled egg on toast.
I bought it from wilkos when it was still open, but I know the range, dunelm home bargains and b&m do them too but not sure on the price. Thank you I have door curtains an thermal linings ready I just need to but the curtain poll which hopefully I will get and put up over the weekend. I love quorn products 💕
Beans on toast is my go to, cheap food . Your house is looking lovely and homely

Spread hummus on the toast before adding the beans, for extra zing 😉

Tinned mackerel ( variety of flavours), is my favourite.
