I hurt for my favorite couple on daytime soap Tad and Dixie. You see how much they love each other.

There was a point in late 1998 when Agnes Nixon (who walked away as Story Consultant a year earlier, in protest of ABC replacing Lorraine Broderick with Megan McTavish 2.0) returned to essentially ghost-write All My Children. By the start of 1999, McTavish was quietly moved to OLTL to do the same.
This episode is clearly during that transitional period, wrapping up the messes of 1998 while shifting direction back to basics.
This came after McT's attempt at overhauling Broderick's AMC, backfired horribly with viewers and critics - abandoning character-driven stories in favor of crazy, gimmicky plots:
Resurrecting Erica's lover Mike Roy, undoing an essential element to Erica's character just to create a triangle with Jackson. And seemingly all for creating scenes of Erica temper-tantruming at Mike and/or Jack, basically for laughs (it wasn't funny).
Introducing a slew of new, uninteresting characters like Camille Hawkins - who lurked around the Chandler estate posing as the ghost of her own dead mother "Joy" to gaslight Adam - then trying to make herself a love interest for Tad.
Followed by her Ray Gardner-ripoff father Lee Hawkins terrorizing Pine Valley, blowing up Haley & Mateo's apartment, putting Mateo in a coma that turned him psychic (yes, really), THEN kidnapped Haley & forcibly tattooed her (?), THEN blew up their coffee house. McTavish really loved explosions.
And even with this going on, Adam found time to secretly impregnate Liza with his sperm - a storyline that both he & Marcy Walker spoke out against McT's handling of, citing that it was being treated as a joke, rather than the very serious violation it really was. Walker specifically called it "a tantamount to rape."
McTavish also faced backlash about sidelining Janet & Trevor, handing them an ABC Afterschool Special-esque one & done story of Harold the dog dying. At the AMC fan club lunch that year, when a fan from the audience asked why only this story, McTavish responded "well I'm not the head writer who turned Janet nice," referring to Lorraine Broderick and Janet's journey of mental illness recovery.
Oh, and the ridiculous story they gave Brooke - she basically shot Jim Thomason in cold blood. What was supposed to be a powerful, intelligent, and emotional story as written by Broderick, suddenly turned so comically awful, that Jim's portrayer Roscoe Borne quit the show! There's so much more to unpack with how bad this story was, but this comment is already too long.
There was also Mateo's never-before-mentioned "maybe-wife-but-not-really" Raquel, poorly played by Carolyn Neff, girlfriend of OLTL's then-Kevin, Timothy Gibbs. That role would be mercifully recast not long after this episode.
In this episode, most of those stories were wrapped up, while others were awaiting their resolutions - but now in Nixon's more capable hands. Nixon would be joined by co-head writers Elizabeth Page and Jean Passanante in Spring of 1999, once ABC made it official that McTavish be head writer of One Life to Live. It was long-rumored that McTavish had been collaborating at OLTL with then-EP Jill Farren Phelps. While ABC did not comment on that, they did confirm that Nixon had been back at AMC since Fall 1998.

Travis was a dog. He treated Erica like dirt. I'm glad they didn't get back together. He should still mad at Jack for sleeping with Erica. Your own brother. And he always kept Bianca from her. I'm glad Bianca told him that at her anorexia intervention. He acting like he was above her. Sickening.

OK, no gull eggs in November! Plus Haley is totally wrong about birds not accepting eggs being added to their nests. This is just so wrong on so many levels! grrrrr OK, rant over, but I needed to vent about the writers idiocy.
