The enemy of art is the absence of limitations. I have some “gimmick” on every track I make, keeps me from making the same stuff every time. Ironically, right now I am limiting myself from always trying something new.
the enemy of art is limitations. ive always felt your statement is just an excuse for people who aren't creative or on top of things enough to choose a direction and go with it
@@OrbitalRecordshq That's one way of looking at limitations. But, isn't it a bit ironic to suggest that there is right or wrong way to be "creative"? And, isn't choosing a limitation a form of direction? Setting a limitation is one tool, having no option but to conform to a limitation is another. I am fairly confident that Orson Welles, one of the greatest directors, actors, and creatives of all time knew what he was talking about.
@@MatsueMusic well you just said it yourself that there is a right or wrong way to be creative, so yeah it's super ironic now. i agree though if you can choose the limitation, it can help create something more unique. but limitations are not inherently a shortcut to creativity. orsen wells is just one creative out of millions of others with different opinions. just because he says something works for him, doesn't mean its a fact. just by his statement, i think he was being hyperbolic for impact
@@JarvisDubstep its not pointless though. there is a better and a worse way to make music and therefore there is more right or more wrong. and people going around saying that limitations are the way to create your best art is discounting what true creativity is capable of when all options are available. it's a false statement i hear all the time, i'd just like to understand it better
You guys are the GOATS! 🐐 Love how you always go into detail with every sound in your videos! 🔥 And the podcast is great! Keep it up! 🙌🏻

Always best to separate bass elements:
