BigChiefFilms m8 I'm pretty sure he has way more energy now, like have you seen their shows?? They're more rock then metal now and not as heavy but still manage to add this heavy vibe and energy to their shows.
I SOOOOO AGREE!! I saw them for the first time in 2000-2001 and STILL I will say u can't touch the DEFTONES LIVE!! Can't wait to see them in Tennessee on October 13,2019!!!!

VHS isn’t that bad. The problem is that many of us recorded in EP and SLP to save tape! When using the regular 2 hour SP option to record, the quality is almost the same as broadcast. If only we knew back then that we would be watching this shit on 4KTVs down the road we would’ve bought more tape!

I agree. Deftones are still awesome on their more dark, melodic tracks, but I personally love when they open it up & just rip. Korea is a great example of that.
How else is he supposed to sing to the crowd lol… you want him on the same level as everyone else where no one can see him?? He’s not the only performer who gets close to the crowd either
I seriously miss chi's presence live. I've seen them twice in the last couple years and one time was good and the last time was the best concert I've ever been too. The better of the two was Southside ballroom a smaller venue. Sergio was good but he was quieter during the screams which is what made it good. Chi was great and could scream as loud as Chino but Sergio I'd prefer just playing bass
Great show, great festival! I was there, 5 meters away from the stage 😀 Deftones, Limp Bizkit, Foo Fighters on the main stage, and Moby playing in the big airplane hangar in a unique athmosphere. Great memories:-)
Graham Ives i hang out with one of his younger brothers Chi Meng occasionally so i get to hear some funny stories. Chi Cheng sounds like a really sweet dude. R.I.P.
Chi's backup vocals were sick.
yeah he was a huge part of their sound
He was unreal. Rip brother chi
Oh man, were they ever! RIP
I was with Chi a lot his last 3-4 years. Got to know his Mom, brother and sister. Brother could be a hot head (understandable under the circumstances)
uncle chaos yeah it feels empty without his backup vocals he was a great person to have in that band

Chino still has the same energy on stage that he had 16 years ago ! By far one of my favorite bands I've ever seen live
BigChiefFilms m8 I'm pretty sure he has way more energy now, like have you seen their shows?? They're more rock then metal now and not as heavy but still manage to add this heavy vibe and energy to their shows.

chino screams sounded like a dragon dying live.
Lol chino tripped at 2:17 and Abe’s laughing at him
As a person that has a LOT of experience in live sound, those guys did an excellent job given the high stakes situation. Unspoken heroes.
What was so bad about this festival as opposed to any other festival lmao
Did they storm Normandy? They literally crushed beers and melted faces, what stakes?

For a rip from VHS recorded from TV, the quality isn't bad!
Reminds me of watching concerts in the late 90s.

because of Deftones, yr 2000 is the best time to be 18 yrs old.
Saw Deftones in 96’. Loved them ever since. Now I’m 37. Still ready to mosh!!!

Best years of my Life and Deftones delivered the Soundtrack
Can't help but notice....
People holding up their fists, not phones!
Michael G
Most of these people would be late 30s early 40s now so for all we know they could be holding their phone up at a concert tonight
Not me, maybe for a couple snap shots here and there, but I'm sure i can find 20 videos on youtube within 24 hr of the same show.
Michael G would they be holding up their flip phones with no camera capabilities? I get your text point though.
someones gotta record the show so people who didnt even bother to show up (like you) can watch
Its professionally recorded though. Why record when you can just watch it later? People still record in these types of situations lol
