Your impersonations are hilarious! I've watched a few of your videos and hope you keep more coming! Your last story your gut was probably right! You are brave waiting for the timer to leave! Also, the ending...literally scared the shit out of me.
You have to be a late night driver to really appreciate some of these. I totally get ya! I deliver around OC over nights and there are just some places I won’t go and others you think hey it’s safe but can be creepy as af in the dark.
I've been doing postmates for about a year now and as a woman these all really scare me. Luckily I haven't had any real trouble yet but I do often end up in a part of town that's known for kidnapping and sex trafficking. I hate that I have to accept offers without knowing exactly where I'll end up. But I keep two pocket knives and two pepper sprays on myself and in the car and always keep my doors locked when I can.

I drive around Long Beach at night in sketchy-ass neighborhoods and wonder if I’ll be going home that night.
You hear about the recent one where a a driver didn’t complete a delivery because she stopped to give life saving CPR to a gunshot victim? Then PM deactivated her from the app and refused to listen why.
That's crazy if true. But I don't doubt it based on my own interactions and numerous stories I've read from drivers on Twitter & Reddit.
Postmates Paul yeah apparently they are going crazy with suspensions and deactivations recently from what I’ve been reading. Even with things beyond our control. They refused to pay me wait time on an order recently saying it was correct even though i was literally given 0 wait time.

You ever end up doing Grubhub Paul? Easily the best courier app, from another SoCal guy. Really Cannot believe you stuck with Postmates so long :D . Took around a year for Grubhub to onboard me and I mostly did Postmates with some UE/DD/Shipt sprinkled in until then. Now I do 90% Grubhub with short distance DD/PM/UE sprinkled in on slow days. ~30% AR on Grubhub. You would've avoided the cigarettes type of horror story.
Doordash can definitely be good too but you have to have a real low AR% on there, mine is around 10%. Can get tiring declining all the non-worthwhile orders.

None of the other platforms except instacart on boarded me. I wanted to do them all, I got stuck in the background check for door dash and grub hub and it just permanently said in process. The companies themselves were no help. I did a google number and signed up again and it went thru. then it said there were too many drivers in my area and they will let me know and that was a year ago. Thanks for joining me Reddit friend.

Definitely some weird yet interesting experiences. Most of my delivery stories are comical. Like one time a customer forgot to mention that his house didn't have any address numbers on it or on the curb but it was the only one with a seven foot inflatable Yoda on the front lawn.

About story 4, when they cleared out the homeless encampments along the river bed, they gave out hotel vouchers to many of the homeless. Also some hotels have been converted into homeless shelters. That's not to say that guy wasn't an axe murder.
I'd like to think he was a drug addict with axe murder vibes. 😀
