I remember this show. Me being the (former mirror man) for Morris Day and the Time. I was living in Roseville, Michigan then. My electric drum claps weren't working. Upset and mad because of it, I made a facial expression that should not have been made at the very beginning of 'Skillet' because cameras were on us and I'm to be professional at all times. We were on the show with KEM. He wanted to go on first so that he could watch us perform. He stood out in the audience, near the stage with about 11-12 armed security surrounding him. I thought to myself *What a generous and big hearted guy to go on first, so he could watch us!* Dang Brotha Kem, you are the man...*If you wanna be successful, follow the advice you give to others.*

MD and the Time ripping it up wherever they go!! Detroit is one of the band's most popular cities because we have soul. I like the fine honeys MD kicks off the stage!!

Derran, I really wanted just one time to work with the group, so I could (brag) to all of my band members I grew up with in East Saint Louis, Illinois that I'd *made it* famous,, for a day, which would last a lifetime in the eyes of those who never went on to do anything but *be a star in the ghetto.* But the Most High would not only *save my life* that 46th April 10th birthday weekend, He blessed me with my heart's desire to not just be with the organization for a day. But to travel to 40 of the 50 states, 5 countries and 4 📺 television appearances. "Dreams do come true, if you keep the faith and just believe!"

Me myself growing up in a Bloods neighborhood and a 25 year member.............and also as a guitar fanatic.................i'm almost 40 now......but been a guitar player since age 4(my dad played) i was able to escape the ghetto and be able to play for a couple celebs and travel as well. Going to take a lot of flak for this, but watching this makes me sad. Few bands made me more energized and happy than The Time, but this isn't them anymore. Morris always had a sub-par voice (his on-stage smoothness and showmanship always made it happen) and now it's sinking. Monte is on point but... seriously. This band is isn't tight any more - and the repertoire is crazy demanding. Any flaws becoming too obvious. Judging from their more recent performances they can manage packing Cool, The Bird and Jungle Love into a six-minute medley. But close to an hour of this... I'm sorry... this is downright painful to watch. With sadness, H.
I'm a Detroiter and Morris can do no wrong. This was recorded in August 2011. The concert was absolutely great in my opinion. I used to watch it damn near everyday for a month when this video was first released back then. Excellent show and he'll be here in less than 2 weeks and I'll surely be there. This is not the first recording released. This one is completely out of synch. The first one uploaded was fantastic but is no longer available.

The Time is about Entertainment, Attitude, Flamboyance , Tight Band & Jammin…
Morris tends to sing sharp. I think his range is higher than a lot of the hits that Prince wrote for The Time.
