Agreed. My experience of the erhu (which I love) has been with other traditional Chinese instruments so this orchestral performance was quite novel and a lovely blend.

After listening to different versions of Butterly lovers with all erhu or all violin this is my favorite combination. I'd love it if the erhu could sound a bit stronger.
The Erhu is a very sad musical instrument. It epitome the history of China or the Chinese ... or you may say only the Chinese could invite such an instrument.
I’m a Chinese, I learned Chinese trad flute from very young, and then moved to uk learn piano and violin, I have also learned guqin, and pips while in China. Through I’m not professional, I still play 3 hrs music everyday and joined many ameture orchestra. I just want to say, the most important Chinese instrument is guqin, it’s not only an instrument, but also a virtual of Chinese spirit, guzheng and pupa is not origined from China, through the origin country are no longer exists. Erhu is relatively new compares to guqin, and it’s never been a “jun zi “ instruments. So if you say the most important instrument of China, it’s have to be guqin, and in terms of Morden music, I love the violin, and it’s my fav instrument that I play 2 hrs everyday now, but I think the fundamental have to be piano, nowadays, even you major guzheng at Chinese music institute, piano is still a compulsory for you. it’s all about the fundamental of understanding the Morden music theory. and make other instruments study much easier.
As a matter of interest I have just listened through good Sony earphones and felt the erhu was amply prominent. I also manually adjusted the quality to 1080p from 480. I was actually thinking while listening that it was professionally recorded not an amateur effort by an audience member. Not sure if this helps 😊
Let say it's kind of lack of emphasizing to make it like opening scene in a bamboo forest like. I have heard many of western instrument versions of Butterfly lover but definitely no one could make it steady and slow but sturdy tonal entrance flute. It is not the sound from dizi, that's another thing to discuss.@@jonathanhuang88

急躁搶拍、樂句猶豫陳述不順暢、聲音不乾淨、與樂團搭配太多混亂、...。但持續加油，明日之星妳可以的~加油!
