Having been on UA-cam for a considerable number of years and watched countless videos on music tech etc and specifically modular, I’m utterly baffled as to why the algorithm has only just thrown your channel my way? I’m really enjoying this video and will look forward to exploring more of your channel… A new sub for thee squire.

You just changed everything for me, thanks. The use of the A-162 is great.

Love the engineer's approach and especially your very concise and clear narration. Thanks for taking the effort to summarize and simplify the theory! I've subscribed and looking forward to more of this type of meaty stuff!

Minutes of fun! Nicely done sir. A little long, but a wealth of information and the demo pulled it all together.

Thank you. No one has ever accused me of brevity. But I hope you got something out of it. :)

Thanks Nick, great video. Helped me a lot. I use a grids and Future Retro Transient+ for my drums but am getting into my clock dividers and multipliers for my sequences. I have the Ladik S-189 Trig/gate delay which I'd taken out of my rack as I wasn't using it - looks like I'll be finding a slot for it now for a bit of swing. And also I knew nothing of logic modules so this was just what I needed. Best wishes from the UK.

A really excellent presentation. I only succumbed to clock (Pams New Workout) late last year. Some interesting ideas here to explore and experiment around. Certainly food for thought. Good stuff.

Interesting enough video, but for those coming from a musical background the modular stuff starts at 17:30

Excellent intro, musical time, in a nutshell. There's a fascinating video by Adam Neely 'The Slowest Music Possible' where he explains how tempo has to be within the perceptual moment, too fast and the listener cannot discern individual beats, too slow and the beats fall outside the perceptual moment so are not 'connected'. The latter occurs around 33bpm and slower.

Great video, i learnt a lot about musical time:) , well, i am a Mutable GRIDS user, and that does almost all of this but the Modular idea is not using a Drum Machine, this is the real path of musical time, thanks:-)

Thank you! Get as much info as you can from the internet and from Muff Wiggler. Start small, and really learn what each of your modules can do. I just posted part 5, which is all about sequencers.

Thank you! I plan on doing a lot of shows on how to do it yourself. This can save you a TON of money, if you are willing to put in the soldering time.

Sequencers, clocks and logic are the only areas where I don't understand the usefulness of analog. So many space for switch seqs , mult/div, quantizers etc...
