I am an old timer who grew up in the old days of motorcross, none of this single shock and fancy fork stuff. My dad never offered to even try to fix my dirtbike. So I did my best. Being 13 yrs old and riding a yamaha 1974 mx 250. It started all the time and never gave me grief until I blew the rear shock seals. I never had the money to set up a shop like what is in this video. So I sold the bike and had big dream to buy a RM Suzuki with the laid down shocks. They sounded and were awesome bikes but I never managed to get that bike. I only drewl at how well this young man fixes up bikes and brings them back to life so someone gets to enjoy them I hope some young person can buy a great running bike and not have to pay a fortune. Kudos to this man and keep doing what you do
The last bike I raced was the last national I qualified at Loretta Lynn's in 1998 aboard my Team F&S Suzuki. It brings tears to my eyes to see you build such a beautiful bike that was abused so many years.
What a nice bike! Your not just bike builder man you are an artist... Hard to believe that bike was built on a budget. My 2000 RM125 has been stripped down and rebuilt it looks good but not as nice as yours. Thanks for the awesome build series.
Just a quick video idea if your interested. I'd love to see a "Tips and tricks" video when working in these bikes. I just watched this whole series and I see you have a few tricks up your sleeve. Some examples are the locking forceps on the carb spring/cables. The rag in the chain when tightening I'm assuming? I'd love to have some more detail on that and I'm sure others would agree! Great series man!
Dude...our a genius. Live your work. Wish you could take over my rm125 build. I'm lagging so bad due to having to support all my family. But one day... love your work keep it up
Really enjoyed this series! Thank you Matt for taking the time, and for the excellence in presentation, editing and camera shots. Please keep them coming! I have subscribed and hit the alerts! Definitively NOT a waste of time! Great build by the way!
Omg i Love the color in from Sweden 46 years old man and you just nailed My cross favor color. I wold Love to get back in track but have not driver a bike sens 16 years old. But waooow Love the colors.
I am amazed with what you do on your channel. How/where did you learn to do all this? The fact that you do most of it if not all by yourself is unreal. Much respect ✊.
Are you kidding me, man!!?? Less than $2300, you built that gem? I have a 2004 Honda Cr 125 that’s in decent shape, but probably have to do a top end, rejet my bike, back brake work, stuff like that. I haven’t signed up for Cam’s contest, but you are really inspiring with this build, maybe I should! I don’t think your bike is going to be one of the finalists though... I think you’re gonna win!! Amazing job! ✌️🤘
New favourite youtube channel. Great work on the bike and the series. All round great editing and length and good energy as well. Look forward to the next!
Really enjoyed this rebuild video ,good luck with the competition, just subscribed and going to watch more of your excellent vids ,good luck from the uk
Sweet build! Tough to find a well rebuilt 2-stroke. Looking for a used 125 rebuilt myself - stock look is definitely the best and cleanest for resale. Great video definitely learned a lot.
Well done man you absolutely killed it with this build bike looks amazing. Pitty i live in ireland or id be sending you a deposit now 2600 for that is a steal.
Great video man. I’m sure you sold it a long time ago but man in todays market that’s probably a $4k- $5 bike. I just did a full build on a 2009 yz250f I wish I would have made a video
Question about the fork coating, so factory forks usually come with "hard coating" or hard anodizing, this is to reduce friction and stop the wear of soft aluminum inside the tube. Is that coating a hard coating? Will that coating cause the fork oil to muddy? I know when I have a set of KYB that come off a very old bike you can shine a flashlight inside the fork tube and see a shiny spot where the hard coating has been worn through. Once the forks are like this the oil muddies very quickly. When there is a solid fresh hard coat you can change your fork oil and it comes out clear every time.

still not too late sir. you got this goodluck
shes a beaut I like how you don't blow 10,000$ and do a budget build for the best possible results. Thats why your one of my favorite youtubers.
Self control... Lol
@@MattBerger02 do you have a spreadsheet or cost breakdown. I have same bike an 01 since 01 and time to refresh

Can power coating fade or be damaged when exposed to liquids such as carburetor cleaner or gasoline?
Holy smokes I just stumbled across this video after picking up a 01 rm125. When can I send you mine🤣 bike is 🔥🔥🔥👌😍
Deal! lol
Got me the same bike too 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I just got a 2001 rm125 for 500 dollars it just needed a stator, carb rebuild and rear brakes. It's a pretty fun little bike.
$500 is an awesome deal! Wow
not really a suzuki guy, but good lord this thing looks good.
Right?!?
Question about the fork coating, so factory forks usually come with "hard coating" or hard anodizing, this is to reduce friction and stop the wear of soft aluminum inside the tube. Once the forks are like this the oil muddies very quickly. When there is a solid fresh hard coat you can change your fork oil and it comes out clear every time.
I would buy that bike in a heartbeat for 3.5k. Whoever bought it for 2600 is lucky.
Have you ever tried the warm up the bearing and freeze the triple tree trick ? It really makes getting those bearing on much easier .
Never done it on the triples before... will definitely give it a go next time. Thanks!
I wish that suzuki will produce two strokes again
The only good 125 build 👍
Haha I appreciate that!
nice work man. I think it would look a bit better if the sub frame was yellow too, but it still looks sick
Sick
Holy moly 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
