Great Review HeadKarma! I had been keeping an eye on these for gaming since a while ago on HeadFi. I followed the Taction Kannon thread back then in about 2016-2017 but recently came in to see that they released. At the time I was looking for something that had bass and provided an immersive experience while giving a strong "feel" sensation, but with bass as the first priority in the line. Originally, I wanted to "feel" the power of the explosions and the rage of gunfire. I remember I was very frustrated when I started looking because I did not found anything like that until I meet the Fostex THX-00s which took me a while and weeks of research to get to. I remember everything started with a pair of Fidelio X2s, which provided a great open can experience. This was also because I was incredibly disappointed with gaming headphones. I was using a pair of Logitech G633 and at first, the experience was OK because I did not really cared about audio at the time, but after a while, I just knew I really wanted a better audio experience. After experiencing the Fidelios X2, I started to discover more about open and closed headphones, and their different characteristics. It has been a great learning experience and in the end, the X2s are great, but I still wanted waaaay more bass. I did more research and ended buying the Fostex THX-00 from Massdrop, while sacrificing the sound-stage and imaging of the X2s in gaming, which I noticed instantly as I turned Counter Strike on, but with which sacrifice came great bass. I still use the X2s for FPS or some light competitive gaming and the THX-00 for casual sessions. I really liked how you explained imaging and the side-effects that the Kannons have against the Fidelio X1s, because the comparison is great and helps me big time with my situation too. Now, the Kannons are still on my list. I still have the THX-00, which I love atm, just because the Kannons did not released at the time I made the purchase and I really needed to fix my bass need asap, but I am definitely looking to get them. I see them as revolutionary, and serve the purpose and void I still need to fill with my needs for bass in gaming for a casual/immersive sessions. I still want that "feel" that the tactile transducers produce. All I want basically is to be able to pop up DOOM 2016 with an insane amount of bass and a feeling of power from the transducers while firing the shotgun. Having that great feeling of deep, groundbreaking power when explosions pop up from the screen.... Damn. I am still looking for that since I started my research way back and all I can say is that your review helped me big time, and this headphone makes me feel very excited. I remember when I discovered the Kannons, it was like a light at the end of a very dark tunnel. I just knew these were what I was looking for at the beginning of everything, and what made me even more excited is that these were being created at the time I was looking for them. There were people that told me that such thing I wanted did not existed or may never exist, and discovering the Kannons was basically everything I was looking for in a headphone for casual gaming. So, I just wanted to share this story with you, and I which is also why your review helped me big time too. Now, to conclude. I found your review of the Taction Kannons very, very insightful and you explain everything with an amazing detail. I think you deserve way more views and more subscribers. I sold them shortly after I made the video. I stand by my comments regarding the sound of them. A few members on the forums have experienced issues with them and the Taction team has been quite responsive to fix any problems.
