Igitanku Longon Nu (I Will Hold Your Hands)

The wish by late Mount Kinabalu guide Valerian Joannes to dedicate a love song to his fiancee will be fulfilled by local singer Felix Agus tonight during a charity concert at Penampang Cultural hall here.
Valerian, 27, who died in an 5.9 Richter scale earthquake which killed 17 others on June 5, had wanted to surprise his future wife with the Dusun song "Igitanku longon nu" (I will hold your hands) at their planned wedding in November.
Felix, the Akademi Fantasia Season 2 first runner-up, said composer Josue James had forwarded him the music arrangement a few days after Valerian's passing.
"The song tells a love story of how they had separated for awhile due to a misunderstanding and how fate had got them back together.
"The late Valerian also voiced his wish that the couple would treasure their marriage," he said.
Felix said he was touched by the gesture and hoped to sing the song on behalf of Valerian to his fiancee Jessica Sikta and the families who are present at the "Remembering Our Heroes’ charity concert.
"I can feel his sincerity and deep love toward his fiancee via the song.
"Hopefully, it will bring comfort to his grieving family members," he added.
The charity concert is organised by the Sabah Suang Lotud Association, Sabah Cultural Board, and Gabungan Artis-Artis Sabah.
Funds raised from ticket sales and donations will be given to Mount Kinabalu Guides Association who have been left jobless following the incident. - NST
