The first 8 episodes of Season 5 aired in Summer 2012, the last 8 aired in Summer 2013. Honestly dont know why it's called Season 5 when it was on over two years
I rewatched it all earlier this year, and things that I remember as being a huge, long story, are sometimes only one episode. It’s literally unbelievable the way they craft a story. They’re the literal best writers in the history of television, in my opinion.
yeah but i think after all is said and done, both shows will have a similar number of episodes...there are 62 BrBa episodes....BCS seems to be 10 episodes per season, which, after six seasons means 60.....
Watching Mike’s character development in Better Call Saul, knowing that he’s ultimately going to end up an unidentifiable barrel of human slush. That’s one of the most disturbing things for me.
@@bijimon7850 Mike was hit and his death was not shown so u can't say that for sure.. his last words to Walt was "let me die in peace."considering Walt was on the run to save his own ass, he may didn't have the time to decompose Mike's body even if he actually died.. may be someday another show can be created based on gustavo fring's becoming a drug lord and Mike may make an appearance.

The show died with Chuck. Season 4 was a disappointment. Too many callbacks/flashbacks/gimmicks/Easter eggs. The building of the superlab wasn’t terribly interesting to begin with, but was drawn out for the course of the entire season.
Even though I love the Jimmy and Mike storylines, my favourite probably ended up becoming the Gus and Salamanca part of the story. Nacho is the first cartel guy we can sympathize with and he's probably a good representation of the average bad guy - doesn't really want to have a part in it but his family is on the line so he goes along. And then there's Lalo, a new kind of crazy, not in a chaotic way Tuco or the Twins are, more calculated and reserved but still unpredictable to us. And Werner's demise was a sad punch, much more so because Mike also didn't want to kill him. It was akin to Walt sending Jesse to kill Gale.
The shows are complementary: like peanut butter and jelly... I prefer BCS simply because it focuses on my favorite side characters from BB. However, if it weren’t for the amazing writing and casting of BB, I wouldn’t even be interested in those characters in the first place.
@@javierlandaverde4108 I still haven't seen anyone that has watched it in the reverse order. I'd be really curious to see someone do reactions to that.
Avery James yeah honestly when I saw that there was a series about Saul I wasn’t really interested but I got hooked since episode 1, right now I like it way more than breaking bad
I'm so glad season 4 is now on Netflix, so others who might not have gotten a chance to see it can now experience what I believe is some of the best writing and acting in a recent TV series. I loved all the twists and turns of Breaking Bad and how gripping it was, but was completely captivated by Better Call Saul's slow-paced, character-driven narrative. Can't wait to see where they take the story in season 5.
I think she's safe. to be precise her and the rest of the firm are safe. their lawyers after all not conmen or criminals, worst she would get is arrested and disbarred but she nowhere close to that bad. while even with chucks death the firm is still cutthrough and evil so I don't expect those still on top to fall ether as long as the firm still up. their life will suck none the less though.
In my opinion, the most amazing thing about this great show is how the the absence of Kim Wexler in BB is so intriguing. From the get go, the audience was unconsciously thinking Kim was going to be a 1 or 2 season colleague, possibly love interest, to help explain Jimmy's eventual dark path. Instead, we get this amazing, deeply fleshed out character with her own motivations and perspectives. First and foremost, she's a great actress and her part is so well written. Her story is the greatest mystery because we already know where Jimmy, Gustavo, and Mike end up. Many of the other main characters are criminals, lawyers or cops and their end story appears headed to more predictable conclusions. We've had a sense that Kim's moment to depart the show could happen at any time. This anticipation been building every season and it's intensified to the point where I get nervous everytime she's on screen. The climax of "what happens to Kim" is truly the modern "who shot JR" moment for those of us old enough to remember. The writers are fully aware that it's not the answer that's important, it the agonizing suspense of getting there.
@@eanderson9599 I think it's inevitable. Breaking Bad was basically a cult show until the hype started building around the final seasons. I'm pretty sure the same will happen with BCS when people can judge it by the bigger picture of the story.
Good analogy as if you ask people today what is the best zelda game these two are mentioned most. Both amazing in their own right while being similar. Amazing writing all around.
"Better Call Saul" is the best TV show on cable TV since "Breaking Bad" last season and is also the only TV series that We watch at home with friends too because the rest TV series on AMC network are PURE TRASH honestly including "The Walking Dead" and "Feat The Walking Dead" this AMC Zombie shows SUCKS as HELL
@@liquidforceaxis I just watched them back to back for third time and have decided that it's no longer a competition. BCS has more interesting characters, more interesting themes. It's deeper, it's more subtle, it's more clever with its symbolism. Breaking Bad is and always will be an amazing, practically perfect show. Better Call Saul has just taken everything to the highest level and is at the pinnacle of excellent filmmaking.
I obsessively watched BB! Like to the point where you could turn on a random episode and I knew exactly what was going to happen by the end. I was skeptical of BCS at first, but I gotta say, man. Vince Gilligan’s writing and his character development is down right brilliant! Not to knock BB, but it runs so much deeper than BB!
But all of the seasons of BCS begin with footage of Saul in hiding - after the events of breaking bad. So it’s a prequel and some parts sequel as well.
Even without the context of it being a Breaking Bad prequel, I still think those scenes set in the future work on their own and would work on their own if Breaking Bad didn't exist. Tragedy is a central theme in Better Call Saul (which, to be fair, is the case with most prequels centering around characters who fall from grace). Those scenes showing him as a pathetic, paranoid man in hiding help reinforce it.
SHA SHA SHA UwU UwU UwU yeah, but it helps to have context of why he’s in hiding.... it lets you know where it takes place in terms of the BCS/ BB timeline. Both a prequel and a sequel.
O G that’s not what I’m saying. Hector was going to die and Gus saved his life. If Gus hadn’t done that and paid for his care, he would have died. But he did not want that because he wanted revenge even though it would have been a smarter move.
Dude the only reason he saved him was because he didn't want cartel thinking he had anything to do with it. He needed to gain some trust. He didn't care for him. He did it to manipulate the situation in his favor
Watchin better call saul for me is like the story hitchcock once told: in a scene a few people are talking at dinner table about their life plans reletionships ect not very exciting right? But what if i told you at the beginning that there is a bomb under the table. Ah now you are intrested.
Da fuck are u guys talkin about?? BCS is nowhere near BB. The action is terrible during the first 3 seasons, just a total snoozefest, it doesnt have anywhere near the ,” Fuck sleep, I gotta binge watch the next few episodes even though i have work tomorrow” type of addictiveness that BB had. Just another ridiculous Ringer proclamation.
Big Sky Blue yeah, I agree on that one. Though I will say that seeing Mike’s backstory and him getting to that level of emotion was very heart rending. But yeah, that Walt broken statue moment of Ozymandias was-mmmMm Mm Mm PERFECTION! As was absolutely everything in that episode. Like it was soooo perfectly written.
Puting Pinoy Absolutely. Not knocking this moment at all, but that episode of BB is insanely great. I got choked up last time I watched, even though Ive seen it numerous times. Its gut wrenching
Big Sky Blue oh, yeah! I have watched season 5 ten times and the whole series 6 times. My favorite other than Ozymandias was Crawl Space when he had his mental breakdown. The consequences of his choices/situation were both felt so sharply in those moments. Heart-wrenching!
Any BB fans deriding BCS is because they just don’t understand what everyone’s losing their minds about. The nuance of the writing, the truth & specificity of character, the patience in the storytelling, the unbelievable performances. It’s not as flashy & there aren’t as many *explosions* and big ol *booms* But I think for the casual TV viewer & BB fan - if you put your phone down for a whole hour every time you watch an episode of BCS you will be shocked to see how much you are rewarded. Every great piece of TV or Film is a conversation with the audience & how rewarding is a conversation you only payed attention to half of? I believe this show and Mad Men share a lot of the same entertainment value - which is to say - ENGAGE with it. Just like you would a piece of literature. Not to be snobby but this truly is modern high art.
@@joshgoodman9882 there is a minority that believe the montages can get carried away at times. As opposed to the plot moving forward we watch Mike take a part a car for 15 minutes. I don't agree and maybe that has to do with the way TV is consumed now days. Also I remember a criticism of Jimmy after season 1 that the show got cold feet by reversing the ending of season 1 where he talks about how he would always take the cash. It's exemplorary of missing the point though lol. Tbh I enjoy the hyper realism of the BB universe and its starting to show up more and more but it's the character development that holds it all together.
Aaron Kuroiwa Mike taking apart the car piece by piece is one of the best scenes ever put on TV. BB and BCS are all about intelligence; of the characters, the writing and treating the audience as an intelligent member. Watching him pick the car apart and then switch the tracker only to be switched back on him is masterful storytelling, patient, intelligent and oh so satisfying.
@@sammmuelspaul1946 lol I loved it. The fact that it was on the gas cover was actually surprising tbh. It was a very immersive scene and it pays off later on when they start working together.
While the show has been a prequel so far, it could easily become a sequel with the show jumping forward to Saul Goodman's demise after the events of Breaking Bad.
If Gilman could pull off a third series on par with the first two it would be amazing. I didn’t have high expectations for BCS when it was announced but I was very wrong.
Damn... I've been thinking this whole time that we're watching Jimmy turning into Saul but it's so much more heartbreaking to realize that it's actually Saul losing Jimmy. Fuck, this show is good.
I have the option to repeatedly watch both on Netflix, and I have. I keep coming back to Saul though. I will watch certain episodes of Breaking that were my favorites. With Saul I start from the first and go season by season. What Better Call Saul does best is solidifies Vince as a great story teller. He’s not a flash in the pan like some.
"..to put you so squarely in Jimmy's perspective, that you couldn't have chosen anything else if you were him because what he does is so true to his character."- I'd argue this is exactly how Breaking Bad operated too, since that's what kept Walt so engaging till the end. Guess this technique is a Vince Gilligan specialty.
That would be a no for me I remember when Walt told Hank that his genius might still be out there somewhere. Yes I knew why he did it, I even related with him but even then i could not accept it. Jimmy on the other is a lot more subtle
I will disagree as well. I think the whole point of Walter's character was to see him sinking in darkness to the point of becoming a monster. So much that while we would understand at the beginning why he did the things he was doing, by the end of it even us, the spectators who followed him throughout the whole journey and even admired him, would acknowledge that he had gone way way too far, that he could've stop before but he didn't. While with Jimmy we know where exactly is he going, but we didn't know how he'd get there, and the point would be to show us that, unlike Walter, Jimmy isn't a monster but a person whose tries at turning to the righteous path were always frustrated somehow, leaving him no choice but to embrace that same darkness. I think one prime example of this is the ending of season 4, where he cannot get his license back until he's forced to emotionally manipulate the jury. At that point him and we accept that there is no place in the world for Honest Jimmy McGill, only for Crooked Saul Goodman.
Kind of agree but also disagree. Toward the end, Walt became entirely delusional. We still understood a lot of his motivations, but there were moments when his hubris overtook the average viewer's
I want the final scene in Better Call Saul to have Saul at his office and he gets a buzz on his intercom that Jesse is waiting in the lobby and his assistant tells him "Send him in", then just rolls to credits.
They are both great in different ways, but one thing Saul has over BB big time is there are far more likeable characters in Saul as compared with BB. Kim is such a better character than Skyler, for example, and the less said about Marie Schrader, the better. Jeez, I cringed when Hank even mentioned her in last week's episode. While Saul hasn't had the leap out of my seat moment as when Gus got blown up, it's still quite riveting in its own way.
@@kritikalqueefz8920 NO, i think it is close but personally I think BCS is better and to outright dismiss people who preferr it is kind of stupid. I think BCS has better cinametography character development, acting, and it also has a better protagonist and villan(imo lalo is better than gus) however the point I am making is it is super close and I would not be mad if someone said bb is better than BCS
_I don’t think I’d say that BCS is more impressive than BB....BUT, they both are sooo profound._ BCS is just a lot slower...but only because it is setting up details that give greater depth and meaning for the things to come. I’d say-despite the amazing work in Winner, there were a couple things that felt-like a weakness in the writing...like Lalo busting into the Money transfer place...like, there are CCTVs, hopefully they address this all. Like that is a potential crack in the overall dramatic realism of the Breaking Bad Universe. Still loved that episode immensely. And I also thought it was a little dumbing down of the script to do such an obvious misdirect about Kai-and making every employee of Madrigal being super stupid just to elevate Mike’s BadAssery. Like, don’t make all of them stupid just to make the point of how awesome Mike is. We’re already sold on that from all the other examples. And they already did a great job of it in the first episode where he infiltrated Madrigal. Anyway, still love the show. It is suuuuuper deep psychologically. And VERY VERY relatable in terms of the sibling rivalry and the whole part of what is true justice and does the system sometimes block itself from actual justice? And the relatability of the screw up brother contrasted to the very noble one, and you love and feel for both of their perspectives! Powerful!
verdodragon haha, I could see that as being a logica conclusion for Lalo to make-because he figured Mike was looking for him and when there was dead air, it was a decently educated guess.
For me it will be always breaking bad before bcs simply because Breaking bad is an amazing fast pace introduction to vince gilligan's amazing crime universe only after watching bb you can appreciate bcs more.
monokhem oh yeah my apologizes my lord. I know you used to have dinner with Pablo Escobar, how could I doubt you my lord?! Forgive my stupidity, I bow down to you!
This show is so amazing. I look forward to it so much every year and it just passes by so quickly. It's so understated and perfect and I just love it so much. I can't wait for the show to catch up to modern day Saul but I still want it to take it's time. Bob Odenkirk is sublime. You see people like him just working for years and you love their work. Yet one day the perfect roll comes along and it's like WHOAH!. In a sea of content this show is a gem, a bloody shiny dirty gem.
I too am more invested and into BCS but it’s not because of the show itself, it’s because of the precedent that BB set. Kinda like: If it weren’t for that hit single, I would have never delved into the earlier material that I love more.
Watching Chuck and Jimmies relationship shape Saul is just amazing ... Despite having BB as predefined events - there is still so much unknown - you know all along that Jimmy tanks the relationship with Kim....how does it happen though? What happens to her?? and more Mike and Gus is just a gift to fans of BB everywhere. And watching from Season 1 to the most recent televised episode you are on edge - you see glimpses of Saul as you go along - the super slow burn ...But when does he totally give into the dark side and go full Saul.....i think its safe to say we hit that point at the end of season 4.
Jason I already think it is as good, but it has been a lot slower. It just needs to not fail-like that final season of *Game of Thrones* did. But Vince and Peter are too smart of writers I think. Edit: I accidentally wrote Breaking Bad instead of Game of Thrones. That would have been so stupid if I actually meant Breaking Bad. Breaking Bad is hands down the greatest show of all time. And BCS is super awesome too.
Maltige Key oh, shoot! I wrote that when I was stupid sleepy. I meant Game of Thrones. Final season of Breaking Bad is a Masterpiece. I doubt anything will ever reach the level again. Closest thing was maybe Season 3-4 of Game of Thrones. But they failed sooooo hard.
@@PutingPinoy If anything, BCS is an anti-GOT. The problem with GOT is that it ended too fast and didn't develop the characters. Where BCS started out excruciatingly slow. Good thing for BCS, all those slow moments paid off in later seasons.
Man, I’m about to watch the last episode of season 5. I can’t believe how good this show is. Far, far exceeded my expectations. I’m a HUGE fan of Breaking Bad. Before getting this far into Better Call Saul, it surpassed The Sopranos as my favorite show of all time. But Better Call Saul may be the stronger show. It’s just so incredibly tight. I think a big part of it is the fact that’s it’s Gilligan and Gould’s second series. And it shows. It has the benefit of experience. They took everything that was good about Breaking Bad to the next level. I’m just blown away. Once season 6 is finally released and over, I hope these two work on something again. I doubt they’ll do something in the Breaking Bad universe, but that would be awesome. Either way, I look forward to what’s next.
No the proper introduction to BB would be him entering the Police Office, asking for Brandon Mayhew, walking to the interrogation room and then just opening the door. Cut to black, we know where that leads.
The spin off i would like to see but dont think it will ever happen now that the actor that played the character has died, is the origin of the disapperer guy. It would be very interesting to see how he started out and see how he became who he ended up being. There are many ways this could be done. I dont think Gilligan will do it. But something like what was done with the character Jacky Ryan or the main from taken. I dont think those shows will ever have the actors that played the original characters in the shows, they will end years before the point the story they are based on picks up, this could be done with this character. It would be very neat to see that vacuim guy and a young mike cross paths or even work together. Maybe they were in the military together. I would watch something like this even if Gilligan didnt do it directly.
The funniest thing about the slow burn of BCS is that it establishes this relatively steady Albuquerque criminal ecosystem so that breaking bads breakneck pace is entirely attributable to Walt being such a severe dipass that he blows it all to hell in under a year
One of the reasons BCS is so good is BB set the bar so high, so that if this show was only "respectable" it was going to be seen as having done the impossible (kind of like Queen following the amazing "A Night at the Opera" with the more, or at least equally amazing "A Day at the Races"). Of course, with many of the same writers, actors, and producers--plus a little time off to recharge--they weren't going to settle for "respectable".
I just find it crazy how the acting and writing is even better then BB but as BB has much more action along with great writing they are just so good in their own rights.
The way I contrast them is that BB had the tighter, more focused story - every thread was working toward Walt's decline, whereas BCS manages to have even better cinematography, montages and stuff, yet the story is three fairly independent plots (Jimmy, Mike and Nacho).
That Car Guy Not trolling. Just an honest opinion. Sometimes current things can become a little overrated bc its a novelty. I re-watched BB and BCS recently, and BCS is high quality but BB is on a whole other level
Stuart Redman Its a high quality show. I think it was more interesting/better written when it focused on original characters (Chuck, Howard, Kim, Nacho). Now, the closer it gets to BB its devolved into more fan service than quality story. Im not loving Gus, Gail, the superlab stuff etc...
Love Breaking Bad, but Better Call Saul is more believable. I never bought that criminals would trust Walter White. They don't know anyone who did time with him, which would activate their paranoia. Even if they confirmed he was just a high school sci teacher, it wouldn't matter to them. They'd still just assume he was a cop. Jimmy/Saul is way more believable in that world. Bob Odenkirk sells it better than Bryan Cranston too. Heisenberg's tough guy act always made me chuckle. Jimmy/Saul on the other hand is quite believable as a shady lawyer
@@detectivepayne3773 Yup. The only exception is if you're family, or grew up together. Criminals are a paranoid lot, and don't trust anyone outside their circle.
I prefer Better Call Saul because I’d rather hang out with those people frankly and it’s interesting - there’s depth to it. But I appreciate both shows, certainly.
In the end, he took the only and best possible redemption he could. He brought himself down from Gene Takovic, to Saul Goodman, to Slippin Jimmy, to James Morgan McGill, the name on the inmate list. And he did it for Kim.
No way people are still sleeping on this. Been hooked on it since day one. Love how every little detail mentioned in breaking bad or vice versa connects with each other. Also u can really get to know each character and why they do what they do. Love this shit..!!
I’m glad I’m not the only one who sees it. The level of character development in bcs rivals the wire. Never thought I’d give another show such a complement.
im more of a brba fan, the way the colors pop, the wide camera angles, the experimentally edited sequences i.e. jesse’s first time using, the writing is certainly better in BCS though. Way tighter, i swear if it had brbad’s cinematography it’d be my favorite show of all time.
Season 1: Yawn.. this is boring Season 2: hmm ok its kinda good.. Season 3: i think this is better than Breaking Bad... idk.. Season 4: This IS better than Breaking Bad
So far season five has me thinking “this might be approaching the wire in character development.” If they play it right their last season will have us crowning it the GOAT.
Im not a series guy. Theese breaking bad, better call saul, and el camino. Are awesome. I just shattered my ankle and snapped my fibula. Had surgery and not have metal plates and screws in me.Three months to recover minimum. Its only been a week and ive watched all of it just finishing bcs. I want to cry. Why is it over. Ok rewatch
As soon as I saw Vince Gilligan, I knew it was going to be great. Add to that the amazing cast and Bob Odenkirk at the helm, it was destined to be amazing!!
I really think it’s strange to even compare them or pit them against each other since they’re both parts of the same river. They just merge slowly into one bigger body of water, so to me it makes sense to see them as all one entity.
Honestly IDK. I'm torn bc I just finished S3 and it's just gotten just better and better. Keep going Better Call Saul. Gilligan is absolutely killing it.
Breaking Bad = 62 episodes plus el Camino being 63 Better Call Saul = Season 5 being 50 episodes total , Season 6 will have 13 episodes which comes out to 63
I watched better call saul before breaking bad, and honestly it makes watching both shows that much better. While watching better call Saul, I had no idea what turned jimmy mcgill into the miserable Cinnabon store manager that they show every now and then in the black and white “flash forwards” and it made me much more intrigued to know how jimmy with all his promising talents and skills spiraled down to that miserable store manager even though throughout various points in the show it seemed like he got it made(the successful business he ran for elderly law, the promising career at a big law firm or when he started his own law firm with his lover) or that it was clear that the path he was taking at that point would be the way he ends up as the miserable store manager (his brother leading to his disbar, his relapse to slippin jimmy and returning to his criminal ways etc.) As for watching breaking bad, going in there with the predisposed knowledge of the side characters made me sympathize and care for them more than it was possible in the show
Gotta mention Nacho, Lalo and the extension of the cartel subplot. Nacho and Lalo are exclusive to BCS, and they are excellent implementations. Knowing *something’s* gonna have to happen to them according to the timeline is super exciting.

Teodora Patlejh agreed the Drug plotline definitely brings in much of the B.B. mythos while adding to the BCS storyline
The shows are complementary: like peanut butter and jelly...
I prefer BCS simply because it focuses on my favorite side characters from BB. However, if it weren’t for the amazing writing and casting of BB, I wouldn’t even be interested in those characters in the first place.
I agree for a fact, the majority are watching BCS because they watch BB.

@monokhem How was that? Did it seem to flow well? Did you find Breaking Bad more or less exciting or interesting?
I'm so glad season 4 is now on Netflix, so others who might not have gotten a chance to see it can now experience what I believe is some of the best writing and acting in a recent TV series. I loved all the twists and turns of Breaking Bad and how gripping it was, but was completely captivated by Better Call Saul's slow-paced, character-driven narrative. Can't wait to see where they take the story in season 5.

Dude, I friggin love Kim. I'm scared and excited to see what happens with her.

Do you manage a Cinnabon?
I think she's safe. to be precise her and the rest of the firm are safe. their lawyers after all not conmen or criminals, worst she would get is arrested and disbarred but she nowhere close to that bad. while even with chucks death the firm is still cutthrough and evil so I don't expect those still on top to fall ether as long as the firm still up. their life will suck none the less though.
Kim theory- she is in prison during Breaking Bad because of involvement with Jimmy. Post Cinnabon Jimmy finds her and dies in her arms... Maybe
Joe Watts Someone in the comments mentioned she gets hooked on meth.
@monokhem sorry I forgot to add the ' above safe. I meant their 'safe' from death, their still fucked.
Better Call Saul is to Breaking Bad what Majora's Mask is to Ocarina of Time.
Judging by this, people will come to appreciate BCS way more in the far future
@@eanderson9599 I think it's inevitable. Breaking Bad was basically a cult show until the hype started building around the final seasons. I'm pretty sure the same will happen with BCS when people can judge it by the bigger picture of the story.

The fact that this show makes me think "I hope Jimmy doesn't fall" even though I know that he does become Saul is astounding to me.

Sure, we all know how Jimmy McGill and Mike Ehrmantraut end up. But as the saying goes, it's the journey, not the destination.
Don’t drink and drive, but if you do,
BETTER CALL SAUL!
We quite don't know how Jimmy ends up because, 'Gene'
Also along your theme of inevitability, we know that Gus caring for Hector is the mistake that will ultimately cost him his life.
So true
He’s not caring for Hector....Gus Just visits him to rub it in his face that he won their battle. But yes in the end those visits cost Gus his life.
O G that’s not what I’m saying. Hector was going to die and Gus saved his life. If Gus hadn’t done that and paid for his care, he would have died. But he did not want that because he wanted revenge even though it would have been a smarter move.
pattersonmorin32 you know I completely forgot Gus paid for Hector’s rehab so I get your point. Apologies on my oversight

Heart-wrenching!
aaron paul doing jesses breakdowns in season 3 4 and 5, that kid was a fuckin tortured soul and he portrayed him perfectly
The understandable criticism is that it's overly indulgent.
Interesting. Indulgent in what way? I’d argue restraint is what comes to mind when I think of this show.

"..to put you so squarely in Jimmy's perspective, that you couldn't have chosen anything else if you were him because what he does is so true to his character."-
I'd argue this is exactly how Breaking Bad operated too, since that's what kept Walt so engaging till the end. Guess this technique is a Vince Gilligan specialty.
That would be a no for me
I remember when Walt told Hank that his genius might still be out there somewhere.
Better Call Saul is certainly more impressive than Breaking Bad to me, but each also makes the other that much better
Much less action in BCD VS B.B. but I like both for different reasons
O G BB didn’t have that much action, it was really about the tension.
Breaking Bad had 62 episodes

Aw man you should have watched BB first.

2 months later it all makes sense and Lalo is one of the best villians the Breaking Bad universe has ever produced.
For me it will be always breaking bad before bcs simply because Breaking bad is an amazing fast pace introduction to vince gilligan's amazing crime universe only after watching bb you can appreciate bcs more.

I lowkey agree that season 5 can solidify this series to be just as good as breaking bad
Jason I already think it is as good, but it has been a lot slower. It just needs to not fail-like that final season of *Game of Thrones* did. But Vince and Peter are too smart of writers I think.

Your analysing of BCS is Amazing. The background music together with your voice are a perfect combination. Well done!

Lol... not to mention it also spoils the Star Wars prequels, Romeo & Juliet, Titanic, and possibly the meaning of life in general.

Yes! I'm old enough to remember the Tracy Ulman Show and the crudely draw Simpsons shorts.
After BCS ends, it would be cool to see a spin off show of Mike as a cop in the 1970's.

In breaking bad when Mike had the lawyer deposit the money in the bank, there was a letter that said "For Kalyee's 18th birthday"

As soon as I saw Vince Gilligan, I knew it was going to be great. Add to that the amazing cast and Bob Odenkirk at the helm, it was destined to be amazing!!
Better Call Saul is GREAT AF and it's a fact, but cmon, more impressive than BB?
Sometimes
I really think it’s strange to even compare them or pit them against each other since they’re both parts of the same river. They just merge slowly into one bigger body of water, so to me it makes sense to see them as all one entity.
yep
You ended the video perfectly, such accurate anylisis

Lump in throat the size of New Mexico: appears
Me too 😭
Honestly IDK. I'm torn bc I just finished S3 and it's just gotten just better and better. Keep going Better Call Saul. Gilligan is absolutely killing it.
There’s not one aspect of BCS that surpasses BB. Just stop it already
Disagree 100%
I believe they’re matching the number of episodes between shows
Breaking Bad = 62 episodes plus el Camino being 63
Better Call Saul = Season 5 being 50 episodes total , Season 6 will have 13 episodes which comes out to 63
Never heard of the Tracy Ullman Show? To quote the great Van Damme: "Wrong bet!"
Stay down man, I put half on him and half on yoooou ;-;
Yo bro can you put spoiler warnings on other shows, such as GoT, because some people like haven’t watched them yet.
I watched better call saul before breaking bad, and honestly it makes watching both shows that much better. While watching better call Saul, I had no idea what turned jimmy mcgill into the miserable Cinnabon store manager that they show every now and then in the black and white “flash forwards” and it made me much more intrigued to know how jimmy with all his promising talents and skills spiraled down to that miserable store manager even though throughout various points in the show it seemed like he got it made(the successful business he ran for elderly law, the promising career at a big law firm or when he started his own law firm with his lover) or that it was clear that the path he was taking at that point would be the way he ends up as the miserable store manager (his brother leading to his disbar, his relapse to slippin jimmy and returning to his criminal ways etc.)
As for watching breaking bad, going in there with the predisposed knowledge of the side characters made me sympathize and care for them more than it was possible in the show
Kim Wexler is the ideal GF/wife I could ever ask for.
Ride or die bae
Gotta mention Nacho, Lalo and the extension of the cartel subplot. Nacho and Lalo are exclusive to BCS, and they are excellent implementations. Knowing *something’s* gonna have to happen to them according to the timeline is super exciting.
