Just had bulb replaced at Halfords, bloke struggled for a while then said to me he couldn't get the light unit out. I had to show him what to do with your video and lo and behold it came out. Thank you sir, maybe you can come down to Halfords in Peterborough and show them how to repair cars. Next time I'll watch your video and bl00dy do it myself!
Just wanted to replace the sidelight bulb on the offside, so I diligently consulted the Owners Manual. This only mentions the top two bolts, so after much gnashing of teeth/head scratching and cursing, I resorted to good old UA-cam. Thank you so much for posting your tutorial, as I couldn’t have done this job without it. Cheers, Paul
Thanks - this works! One tip to add - I used a plastic cycle tyre lever to ease the headline from the body work. Needed to do this because road grime and crud were acting like an adhesive between the headlight rubber ‘gasket’ and the body work.
Really helpful tutorial. Halfords wouldn't fit it as they said it was too tricky...... Did it within 10 minutes following this video and I'm a complete novice at anything like this. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for the video, it's logical. I couldn't get my wife's headlight free and was close to using a sledgehammer on it. Horrible little car to work on.
Like I’m going to believe you did that in 3 minutes! I did our daughters this morning and it took 90 minutes to wrestle the headlight out! 😢😢 sore fingers & hands to boot.
What a royal PITA, I would never buy another i10, timing chains, clutch problems (the foot pedal box problem especially) and the fact that Hyundai have really gone downhill since the MK1 i10. All this work and time just to change some poxy bulbs, on my other car you just twist a lid off and replace, it takes a minute or two tops.
@@jchawthorn had 3 Volvo's, a Mazda 3, a Ford Focus. All 3 had desperately sh1t headlights till I put in Osram Nightbreakers. Couldn't believe the Volvo's were bad, 1 of which had (Halfords supplied) HID's. The older Volvo's with Osram Nightbreakers beat the HID!'s
Ive got a sidelight bulb out but will leave it until the Mot is due in 10 months on mine as i dont trust Halfords to be taking pipes out of the way and putting them back correctly lol , such a bad design , I used to own a Mitsubishi Colt and that was way easier even i could do it as what the Japanese did in their genius was cut an access panel on each side into the front wheel arch so all i had to do was unclip that and pull out old bulb replace and pop it back , where as this design by Hyundai is very bad , its like they were thinking ? How can we get a lot of labour charges from the customer lol the car itself is reliable and for a 1.2 it shifts 110mph on a top speed run but handling is well dodgy lol

@Abdiel Stephen Yup, I've been watching on flixzone} for since november myself :)
Great stuff Paul ... made a tricky job simple - hardest bit was just wiggling the unit out .....Top Man !
Thank you a very useful video. I have just managed to change mine following your instructions. Trying to get the unit out was the worst part.
Thanks ! Was not sure how to do, mine not came so easily though I put some silicon grease on the plastic guides to facilitate future replacement

Horrible little car to work on.
The worst car I have ever worked on too, a massive PITA on every 'simple' job, will never buy another.

Thanks for the video. Very helpful.
Gracias por el vídeo , saludos desde Colombia
What year model car was this please
The light matches my Daughter's 09 i10
Very good tutorial ! Thanks for that.
very useful, thank you. I need nightbreaker main lamps; not the standard candle lights.
Probably the oncoming drivers won't be as happy as you're with them. Nor will you if they cause an accident because you dazzled them
I make sure my dipped beam is adjusted correctly. Renault cars I had previously, all had lamps with sufficient lumens for safe driving.
