This is performed very wrongly, the instruments must play very quietly to let us focus on the vocals, and just adjusting the volume doesn't work because dynamics affect the timbre

Have you ever been singing and there is so much noise in your head from your voice that you cannot hear the accompaniment only to later be overwhelmed by too much sound coming from the accompaniment? This track is designed so that you can always hear it when you are singing and on the other end it doesn't overwhelm your voice by going too loud. If you're lucky enough to have a sound engineer that knows the track well enough that they can chase you by balancing the track to your voice, they are going to turn up the sound when it is too soft and turn it down when it is too loud reducing the dynamic range of the track. Unfortunately, in the classical world of music, most of us don't have the money to pay a sound engineer to get to know the music that well and often times we're in a situation where you need to turn on the track yourself then sing to it. Trying to balance for yourself while you're performing is extremely difficult.
