I have known the same pain of being in unemployement for quite some time and I was devastated due to my lack of faith...I shall keep you in my prayer and I'm sure eventually the Lord will provide with what you need most! Be patient, do not despair and put your absolute trust in Christ.

It is very saddening and no one shares the message. Two weeks ago 9 students at a monastery were killed and the killers said that they were killing them because their prayers were helping Fano (a militia trying to help the innocent). It is inhumane what is happening right now, I hope that other Orthodox churches start speaking about it before the extinction of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church.

It’s hard sometimes Father. I feel the need to keep up on current affairs a little bit and adjust my feeble plans accordingly. But always with trust that God will guide and comfort me when I need it most. When the world gets too mad, I hope go to a secluded place in the mountains of Spain and wait it out in relative peace with my family. I’m preparing to live a humble life, closer to nature, a little plot of land, providing food and the basics for when it’s needed. And I feel it’s going to be needed with the way things are going at the moment. The west is going to collapse under the corruption that has taken root, it’s a matter of time in my humble opinion. People of faith will need to start building little arks so they can survive, both in spirit and body. The devil is coming for us all and he’ll try to make us kill each other. He’s succeeding already in some regards, look at the “mysterious” excess deaths, the war in Ukraine where Christians are killing their brothers. I try not te be troubled by these things Father and I have faith that these things must come to pass before the end of all things. But the horror and the madness gets to me sometimes. It’s just beyond what I ever thought was possible, especially the madness is “surprising” and somewhat “fascinating”, as almost everything is inverted these days. I was an atheist before 2020 and a catechumen now, so all the devil did to me was to point me in the right direction, the pain was well worth the result. Glory and thanks to God ☦️🙏🏻

If that isn't conclusive enough, read these next few verses. 1 Corinthians 4:14-17 (NKJV): "14 I do not write these things to shame you, but as my beloved children I warn you. 15 For though you might have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel. 16 Therefore I urge you, imitate me. 17 For this reason I have sent Timothy to you, who is my beloved and faithful son in the Lord, who will remind you of my ways in Christ, as I teach everywhere in every church." So once again, St Paul says you do not have 'many fathers.. in Christ I have begotten you through the gospel' and in verse 17 he even calls Timothy his 'faithful son in the Lord'. So like Derek said, the priests and bishops are spiritual fathers but God the Father alone is the Father of all. There are countless examples of other Apostles calling those younger in the faith their 'children' (for example, St John in 1 John 3:18 etc etc) so please read Matthew 23:9 in context. Once during a very difficult part of my life, I remembered the Saints & Confessors who constantly glorified and gave thanks to God whilst being tortured in gulags. Those who survived them said never again did they feel so comforted and close to God as they did whilst imprisoned. This gave me so much courage that I adopted this strategy and it healed me & transformed my circumstances. Giving thanks to God during immense trials is transformative, in the beginning it’s hard to do though if consistent miraculous results start to kick in, be persistent.

I met Christ in 1988 and after many denominations, found HOME in 1994/5, being received into Orthodox in 1996, being told by the one who received into The Church that "Your heart was already Orthodox, but you had to allow your mind, will and ego to follow"

I really needed this today. My physical therapy (in my house ) was just cut short because even with my blood pressure meds and the new diuretic( to get rid of excess water), my resting blood pressure is 160/100. It isn't that I'm afraid of death. I just want to know how to feel about this. I wish I knew whether I was dying or there was a chance of recovery. This in betweenness is causing me so much stress, because I have a sister who huffs and rolls her eyes and says, You'll be fine.,while my nurses are asking if I have an advanced Directive. I had the peace of Christ when I was discharged from the hospital. I felt God with me Every minute and it was like being wrapped in a cloud of bliss!! But now that feeling is gone, and I'm not sure if I did something wrong or if God is just taking the training wheels off and making me pedal myself for a while. Any prayers would be a blessing. 🙏😇

As for the other, I know you're correct. Even St. John of the cross went through the dark night of the soul. We have to depend on faith, not feelings. That's why God puts us in the wilderness. It's just that having had a taste of several weeks of heaven on earth, it's so hard to go back to NOT feeling it. I know I can't make it understood, but I realize now why some people with NDEs that get sent back and told " it isn't your time, have such a hard time readjusting. It is the most blissful feeling you could ever imagine. Like overwhelming love and bliss in every cell in your body,and even not being able to eat or drink, even with broken ribs and no pain management, it was the happiest I have ever been in my life. It's like you can't miss what you've never had; but after such a beautiful, stunning consolation, such a truly unwarranted generous gift from God, it's hard to go back to normal. It almost feels like a death in a way. You are so exceedingly close to someone; you want to be with them until their last breath. Then they are gone and you have to adjust to normal life again. I'll say this one thing: if Heaven feels anything like the consolation and presence I felt of the Holy Spirit, it is worth giving up ANYTHING for! There is nothing on earth; not sex, drugs , alcohol, fame, money that can come close. IT IS THE PEARL OF GREAT PRICE, (and I miss it). Bur I must adjust and I will Try to make this the holiest lent of my life.

As a Protestant, I long for the Orthodox faith. I feel myself called into it. The only thing that would be keeping me and my family from converting is prayers to the saints, and veneration of icons and relics. It’s so foreign to us as Protestants and I can find no teaching in scripture or the early fathers that discusses this matter clearly. It makes me sad because I feel like I don’t belong in the Protestant churches but I don’t know where else I belong either. I long for Christ but don’t know know where to find his fullness.
I am Byzantine and just have to say to you that if you are called to covert to Orthodox faith why would you miss that calling because you misunderstand an aspect of the faith. Don’t you pray when someone asks you to pray? So why would you have a problem with asking the great intercessors of Saints to pray for you. Trust in God because the calling on your heart is most likely from Him💖
You don't have to pray to saints or venerate icons and relics. They are there for us as holy examples and to help us in contemplation of our spiritual journey.
Bless you Father Spyridon. You are humble and a great example, despite the fact that we are all sinners, you are a beacon of light. Though we are all mortal I thank you for your help, God bless you.

Very timely video. My fiancé developed bipolar disorder and started acting like she's possessed, left me and shortly after started being groomed by those of "certain sexual appetites". I pray that the Lord heals her and she finds the way back to Christ and to me.
I'm so sorry to hear that, has anything changed since? I've been a heroin addict, involved in BDSM and the occult, but I found my way back to God, maybe your fiance, just like I had to, needs to go through hell in order to find that light within and understand just how far she's been led astray.
@@sirbuffalo Nope, she became "transsexual" essentially and completely lost it. Really don't want to have anything to do with her at this point. Doubt she'll ever be normal again.

I really needed this today. My physical therapy (in my house ) was just cut short because even with my blood pressure meds and the new diuretic( to get rid of excess water), my resting blood pressure is 160/100. It isn't that I'm afraid of death. I just want to know how to feel about this. I wish I knew whether I was dying or there was a chance of recovery. This in betweenness is causing me so much stress, because I have a sister who huffs and rolls her eyes and says, You'll be fine.,while my nurses are asking if I have an advanced Directive. I had the peace of Christ when I was discharged from the hospital. I felt God with me Every minute and it was like being wrapped in a cloud of bliss!! But now that feeling is gone, and I'm not sure if I did something wrong or if God is just taking the training wheels off and making me pedal myself for a while. Any prayers would be a blessing. 🙏😇
Hello Doug, I wonder about you every day and you and Cheryl are still in my prayers may times a day. It warms my heart to have an update on you. Thank you my brother and take heart. We all go though the desert of feeling outside of God's grace. Continue your faith or increase your fight to pray, you are right, this is how we grow and increase. You are loved and everything that happens is ordained by Him. You are never alone. God is with us. So sincerely my friend, take heart. You are part of my salvation and I will try to be part of yours.
@@DeborahRose2885 I wish it was just my blood pressure; unfortunately, until I can get that sorted, I can't deal with the tumors, and the underlying myasthenia Gravis. As for the other, I know you're correct. Even St. John of the cross went through the dark night of the soul. We have to depend on faith, not feelings. That's why God puts us in the wilderness. It's just that having had a taste of several weeks of heaven on earth, it's so hard to go back to NOT feeling it. I know I can't make it understood, but I realize now why some people with NDEs that get sent back and told " it isn't your time, have such a hard time readjusting. It is the most blissful feeling you could ever imagine. Like overwhelming love and bliss in every cell in your body,and even not being able to eat or drink, even with broken ribs and no pain management, it was the happiest I have ever been in my life. It's like you can't miss what you've never had; but after such a beautiful, stunning consolation, such a truly unwarranted generous gift from God, it's hard to go back to normal. It almost feels like a death in a way. You are so exceedingly close to someone; you want to be with them until their last breath. Then they are gone and you have to adjust to normal life again.
I'll say this one thing: if Heaven feels anything like the consolation and presence I felt of the Holy Spirit, it is worth giving up ANYTHING for! There is nothing on earth; not sex, drugs , alcohol, fame, money that can come close. IT IS THE PEARL OF GREAT PRICE, (and I miss it). Bur I must adjust and I will Try to make this the holiest lent of my life.

As a Protestant, I long for the Orthodox faith. I feel myself called into it. The only thing that would be keeping me and my family from converting is prayers to the saints, and veneration of icons and relics. It’s so foreign to us as Protestants and I can find no teaching in scripture or the early fathers that discusses this matter clearly. It makes me sad because I feel like I don’t belong in the Protestant churches but I don’t know where else I belong either. I long for Christ but don’t know know where to find his fullness.
I am Byzantine and just have to say to you that if you are called to covert to Orthodox faith why would you miss that calling because you misunderstand an aspect of the faith. Don’t you pray when someone asks you to pray? So why would you have a problem with asking the great intercessors of Saints to pray for you. Trust in God because the calling on your heart is most likely from Him💖
You don't have to pray to saints or venerate icons and relics. They are there for us as holy examples and to help us in contemplation of our spiritual journey.
